Thancruz Posted December 26, 2012 Posted December 26, 2012 Hello all. Just got p4a on the 360 for christmas all thanks to my wife. I have been interested in this game since around september but never got around to buying the game. I have played the game only once thanks to a friend and really enjoyed it. This and sfxt(omg ppl play that game?!?!) are the only games i want to take serious atm. As more of a rookie sf player what really transitions from playing sfxt to p4? Or mostly what sets this game apart from its anime fighter peers? Only other anime fighter i have tried was bb, but didnt really get into it. I hope i enjoy my stay with the p4 crowd since i really like the look amd feel of this game Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk 2
Ryudrake Posted December 28, 2012 Posted December 28, 2012 Pretty much almost everything transitions over. You'll probably have an easier time with links. You just gotta get used to dashing/air dashing/instant air dashing. P4 also has a lot of unique skills like the All Out Attack and side ways turning in midair. It also borrows some skills from KOF like rolling and hopping which are generally intermediate/advanced techniques. The latter doesn't get seen often though.
Thancruz Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 Another thing that im consistently reading is only practice challenges 1-10 for a certain period of time. Did most players have trouble adjusting to the game at first? Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk 2
Elochai Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 Playing BB for a year, this game took some time to get used to. Most of which was learning the positioning of the buttons, since I kept pressing B when I wanted to do A. That, and the AOA were the only things that really took me time to get used to.

Yes the button lay out is a tad weird to me. I tried mapping my buttons like x=a y=b b=c a=d since i wanted to have the default bb settings but i just ended up confusing myself even more lol. Elochai Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 I use the default for this game. For some reason, S.Persona (D) never gave me any troubles, probably because it wasn't muscle-memory'd as something else.

Hecatom Posted April 10, 2013 Posted April 10, 2013 Sorry, it is Final Round XVI, dunno why i typed NEC :/
zankoku Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 Hey the other day "Throw Reject Miss" actually happened in some netplay game on PSN, anyone have any idea how such a thing can even trigger in P4A?
LiveWireX Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 I know it can happen in BBCSX, so MAYBE the trigger for it is the same? I'm not sure though because I've legit never seen that happen in any of the P4A matches I've seen or played and this is the first instant of it happening I've heard of.
shtkn Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 yeah, i've never heard of TRM in P4. closest i remember hearing is that aigis's ground throw needs to be teched AFTER her throw starts. i'd have to see video proof of this...

shtkn Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 interesting. so it's done when normal throwing ppl in stagger state? only time ive seen that is kanji chair super > OMC > command throw. Don't think i saw TRM then...
Elochai Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 Considering that command grabs can't be teched in P4U (at least to my knowledge), you wouldn't get TRM during them anyway.
zankoku Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 www.youtube.com/watch?v=EYwK3crs3Wg those grabs are techable, despite "trm" Thanks SKD! Always took stagger state command grab combos for granted, didn't consider the possibility of normal grabs.

Sanger Zonvolt Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 Is this game dead? That be a shame because I'm just getting into it as of recently.
Adam0812 Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 Is this game dead? It's coming out in Europe this week, so no
firecotton Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 So how big is the Xbox Live community in this game? I've read many times that the game isn't as active as the PS3 version. I don't have a stick for my PS3, and I also don't plan on dual modding my stick, doesn't seem worth it. Game is coming out tomorrow in europe so I can see it myself, but it would be nice to know if the community on the 360 is still active in US.
Young Navigator Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 It is largely active in the United States. I run a weekly ranbat on Xbox Live (http://www.dustloop.com/forums/showthread.php?16211-%28XBL%29-P4A-Online-Ranbat-Reboot-Season-1-Week-3-If-Labrys-Just-Had-More-Tools) I'd be largely interested to see how EU connections work out in terms of match ups with the Eastern United States.
