Upon reading through bullet's movelist again I think that after burner is going to be what causes that red trailing effect on her sprite that we saw in the PV. It'd be a very clever pun for a genei-jin-esque move and since it's able to charge I imagine that the longer you charge it the longer you have the effect for.

I wonder if this is also considered the "Heat Up" effect that some of her moves seem restricted in. I'm not sure how spot-on the TL is so possibly the specials are restricted to Heat Up so you can't do them unless you have it or they are restricted during it. There definitely is some interaction though.

Ok, thoughts about CP, since I just woke up and read everything:

WTF happened to BB? The changes are so drastic this time around. Overdrives? Crush triggers? It hardly seems like a game from the samw franchise as Extend. And all this when the game was acheiving a good balance between the cast, they just throw a wrench - no, not a wrench - a goddamn toolbox at it.

But, I guess it's too early to panic, really, so I'll just keep reading. Also it's only the first loketest, and i remember first extenfloketest where bursts used up meter... So everything is up in the air. all i wish for, though, is that it feels like BB and that the metagame balance gets better, or at least not worse.

It's not like the game could go lower as far as a scene goes. Each game's been getting less players. What's the worst that could happen.

Still waiting for 4 player mode so I can have 4 Tagers on the screen at once.

CT > CS had more major alterations than this. if you were around since CT this kind of update shouldn't surprise you.

I was playing BB since the beginning of CT on console (but made an account on Dustloop around the tome of CT>CS), but CT>CS felt like they were removing any bad idea mechanics and tried fixing the ones that were decent (even though it took them 2 more revisions to get it right). CSEX , even if a bit stale by now, felt good and balanced. I don't get why they're changing major mechanics so drastically NOW, when they've already nearly perfected them.

CT was more fun anyways, I hope CP becomes something like that.

Yeah. Extend was more balanced but it was kind of boring too.

Don't want to go back to the broke days of CT but adding a little spice to the game is more than welcome.

because they were far from perfect.

teching by tapping buttons was a real issue since people can just uncombo from that. particular distortions were incredibly stupid (i'm looking at you FRKZ). gold bursts were pretty stupid in that they were safe and invincible. giving certain characters an advantage via system mechanic, intentional or unintentional, isn't going to be good towards character balance. and let's not forget the SMP glitch. i could go on if i wanted to.

in my honest opinion, EX was going in a direction where if the game didn't get any major changes, its "kusoge" elements would start to shine and it'd become quite the stupid game.

I loled when i read this.

Its obvious they just trying to make up for lost time. Just hope its nothing like EX, if it isnt then its a success basically.

I suppose adding CT's "spice" would probably be easier though.

In retrospect they'd probably make a "nerfed down" version of CT or CS modes, based on what I already know of GG Mode at least...or they could go the lazy route and make said mode "bannable" like Unlims are. :I:

It's still day 1 of the loketest. Let's be patient and see how people utilize the new mechanics. Pretty sure after this many iterations,CP is likely to be pretty well balanced.

Im looking forward to the changes. It's not a new game anymore so they should have a decent idea on how to balance characters, and any new system mechanic is there for a reason. If it makes it more fun to play, while still keeping the blazblue feel, then I'm all for it. I might not personally agree with all the changes, but anytime anything new is introduced, there's always doubts. When it comes time to play, then i'll judge.

Anyways, hype for Makoto and Bullet. Makoto can't get any WORSE, so i've always got that to look forward to lol...

The worst overdrive has to be Hazama's if it works in that manner. His attacks would get weaker as the life ring takes it's toll. Any thoughts on top overdrives,low,etc.?

Hazama's life-steal ring doesn't hit, though. It just does damage, akin to Bang's poison nail. I highly doubt the ring would add any proration to a combo. If anything, it should help his damage as well, if his drive attacks are strengthened.

Yeah,I apologize,I was way off right there. To correct myself,I meant that the duration might cause the overdrive to drain faster with the health recovery. Which makes me wonder if overdrive's characteristics only applies at the time of activation or it grows stronger over time. That's really what I meant. じょしらく is the sleeper of the season too while I'm at it.

Supposedly its just a big buff on your damage, think of it as a temporary unlimited form for your character maybe... so the lower your health, the longer it will last. The effects should stay the same from activation until it runs out. I dont know why it would grow stronger, maybe that only applies to certain characters, since it augments their abilities differently, so maybe they have basic buffs that everyone gets, along with a special ability *Overdrive* that they add empowering their drive moves or playstyle.

Both are equally as bad, and jin isnt that high on up on the ladder either, well he was, until the tragic update.

And its true, they did manage to make jin even weirder then he already was... like.. how are you supposed to combo now? Thats how bad it is.

You literally need 25 meter in order to get a decent combo lol what.
