It's a portion of their emblems or at least characteristics of them on their health bars. Look at Amane, Bullet, Carl, and Azrael's. You can see some designs used from their emblems.

While hakumen has been compared to the White masked Nine Tails and a Wolf, it is most likely the Fox due to it being present in his emblem. And if you look further to the right you can see tails.

All of this time I thought it was a wolf, due to his weapon's name, Ookami. But now I can see the nine tails behind it in the crest.

How come though? Is there a connection between Susanoo and Kyuubi?

Not that I'd know of. Susanoo was a storm god and kyuubi are fox spirits.

There was a quote somewhere on here that fit this situation perfectly, basically; just because BB uses some mythology jargon don't think it's all going to mirror.

First off there is no "Kyuubi" it's not the name of any sole entity, it's just directly staying "9 tails", most Kitsune (fox) spirits are said to have 2~9 tails, this just shows off their other worldly trait and the number of tails often has no impact on their abilities. 9 is simply the most commonly told (there's no recorded reason why, and as most of these stories were oral back in their time, it could've just kept getting more and more exaggerated to a point).

Though I will admit Jin shares the d-baggery of Susanoo (for his contempt with his sister--Amaterasu) the bro-con is totally left field (Tsukiyomi is actually a rather minor character in mythology, his only notable roll being how night and day were created due to a spat with Amaterasu)

Oh and another interesting tidbit about Okami, it can mean either wolf or great god depending on the kanji used.

It's just that the nine-tailed foxes are closer to gods than to spirits, so of course they tend to be more interesting for story purposes. Especially if it's a chuuni action plot, like Naruto or BB.

Did any of you guys pay attention to the health bars? At their very end you can see some red shapes, which are different for each character.

There's a wolf for Hakumen for example.

A small silly detail, but thought it was cool.

This is what i like of ASW, they don't only make great games, they also have a nice touch for doing nice GUI's with a lot of nice details like this one.

That was just speculation based on the images showing that every character's Heat gauge is now segmented in increments of 25, like Jin's. In the end, it turned out to be for Crush Trigger.

Persona 4 Arena was region-locked because of Atlus, not ASW. It's still a pretty controversial decision for them to have done it(IIRC it was the first PS3 title of note to do it).

I wouldn't be worried at this point in time.

Indifferent to be honest. More worried about them than overdrives to be honest with you. The only thing that concerns me with O.D's is the stuff surrounding it. But because they replace Gold Bursts, I'm biased towards them.
