^Uh...did the forums get more hostile from the last time I was here

No, it's just this thread making everyone who enters it dumber.

It certainly made me remember why we stopped doing these.

Yea but Hazama is cooler and he's referencing the Midgard Serpent. However, what you say is true.
It's a brilliant reference. I totally missed Tsubaki and her Valkyrie references, though. Wouldn't Valk technically be Fenrir, though? in all but name.

I'm ready for CP to initially be shaky. I don't expect the 3 newbies to integrate well into the game initially. They're all unique, so I'm just expecting them to be on either end of the spectrum, really. Even if they let the game mature enough before a balance patch. (I could be wrong, obviously)

Since SF4, CT and MvC3 butchered my expectations of Balance first time round, I'll just be incredibly patient.

ED: Y'all know Mumm-Ra is kidding......Right? :8/:

CS is only good if you play Litchi and Bang, CS2 is only good if you play Makoto, Noel, Hazama and Jin, CSEX is only good if you play Ragna, Hakumen, Arakune, Taokaka and Valkenhayn. See what I did there? No you didn't, because you don't know shit:

  1. You don't play Guilty Gear
  2. You main a DLC character
  3. You joined the forums this year
  4. You don't have an award
  5. You don't have a display
  6. Your gamertag/psn ID has numbers in it
  7. You write fanfiction
  8. You watch dubbed anime

Requesting ban.

This mans feelings are obviously hurt.

that or he's joking. either way

very funny.

Just like Tsubaki was.

I think that Amane will fit in perfectly, with his zoning,(what appeared to be) some-what close range, and his fanbase.

Azrael will be used but won't have that much success, he looks like he'll be punished too easily.

Bullet, in my opinion, will have the most difficult time getting in on the mix. I saw a bit of her, and all I saw was (from what they showed us) lack of lengthy combos, and only medium damage.

I'm looking foward to see what the title of each character's group will be. My guess is Amane: something with fabulous tier, Bullet: something about Hot Pants, and Azrael with "I lift things up and put them down".

I can imagine Azrael being the strongest. Not sure why, but he just screams "I'm going to shove 9K up your ass"

I hope they integrate well this time. If they do it right I'll be over the moon.

Most powerful? Yes. I just don't think he has as many options to get in on an opponent like most characters though. His teleporting could play for some nice mindgames. I just see "I can utterly dominate you, but I need you to not move for a sec, and let me set up." But then again he is very fast, and can track people down. I'm just concerned from watching the loketests, his moves seem so slow, especially that one where he does a lower slower imitation of Valenhayn's 6C. If it whiffs, it gives someone 2 seconds to land something. This makes me wonder what a Tager vs Azrael game would play out like.

True. I can see him having Bang-Tier normals or something. And the teleport just looks like flash to me. If I can cancel into it in a blockstring, however..

From what I can gather from the loketest vids it seems like Azrael is a character who has to wait for the opponent to make a mistake and then crush them with his high dmg [He goes a have Damage right?]

I think someone else already said this, but Amane looks like he can only fight at a very long range or a very short range.

And I'll have to agree with WillWork about Bullet seeming... underwhelming compared to the other two new characters, although I think the reason behind her being so underwhelming is because she might be the new "Easy" character to use since Ragna seems to have become more complicated than he was in the previous installments.

YukiBlue is plotting. Hide the children.

Teleport canceling would be absolutely marvelous. That would actually make me pick up a teleporting character. If he could teleport in an Akihiko-fashion (quick jabs), that would lead for raging loops. This would bring me pleasure to no end. I could see homo-genius moments happening: Azrael getting blocked by Bang's D, teleporting out of the way, and FurinKZa Bang dashing back and forth at him, causing nonstop teleportation across the entire screen. I'm pretty sure the game would crash if that were to happen.

Azrael has high damage (weak DDs), but needs a weak point to maximize his damage. The first mistake an opponent makes, Azrael, instead of doing a combo, would have to settle with making a weak point. Then again, we don't know how much combo-potential his drive has until we can dissect it.

Tsubaki seemed like Arc Sys created her to be the next easy character, but since she has small damage, she isn't a fun, easy character. I feel bad that Bullet has to succumb to be the next, Easy character. Bullet has so much potential, but it won't shine early on. Maybe AS will give Bullet a boost before the game comes out.

You watch dubbed anime

Requesting ban.

Seconded.

As for the new chars, as long as Bullet is not as dismal as tsubaki was in CS, don't see why she wouldn't get a lot of use, specially online.

Hey guys, aside from speculations I can't help but notice you asking about the new loketest or something. Tell me, should there really be one more scheduled? Is there a set number of how many should be before the arcade release?

Posted

There isn't a new loketest yet. There might be when Nu and Mu are officially announced, though. Usually fighters will go through at least 3-5 loketests just to be safe.

It's never too late for that, even after the game's release.

•When doing combos with Same Move Proration, a notification is shown on the screen.

So I'm curious about this detail, especially since so far that I know of is that Ragna as of CSEX is the only one to utilize it, and Naoto in P4A, how will this appear as? And with speculations that the potential of SMPs are possible with other characters.

Can you please link to these changes list? Lost it completely.

What do you mean "how will this appear as"? A sign that says "Same Move Proration" appears (in the same place where Counter and Fatal appear) and the victim is able to tech immediately after getting hit by a second SMP move.

Litchi and Noel can also pull off semi-practical SMP loop combos in CSE.

With that said, I highly doubt that SMP loops will be possible now since the opponent is able to tech immediately after getting hit by a second SMP move. Good riddance, I might say.

It's the first link on the first page of this thread.

Anyways, as far as a loketest at this point, if it's just for Mu/Nu, I think it would be justified for one more to make the tweaks for those two if necessary as well as catch some last bugs and glitches before release.

EDIT: Okay, pretty much to take in an example of the anti-infinite tech present in Skullgirls. That piece I wasn't aware of, and treating CP as a fresh new game; Ragna, Litchi, and Noel would "supposedly" loose their ability to even make an SMP combo, so I kind of questioned of why needing to have something like that. But as a saying goes, better safe than sorry.

Anyways, really hype for CP even though US will have to wait for next year.
