Tokkan Posted October 21, 2012 Posted October 21, 2012 (edited) I'm honestly still skeptical about the mode change being her without armor. Something about a whole new set of sprites for an alternate mode of a character we've seen before leaves me in disbelief. Edited October 21, 2012 by Tokkan

YukiBlue Posted October 21, 2012 Posted October 21, 2012 It's possible. But I can't see my dream of playing as a Murakumo without that lame-ass armour coming true. Mu would of looked 10x cooler without that Getup. We would of lost the ass, sure. But come on, she needs to look kinda special. If you get to use that sword, The only thing I'll be able to hear in my head is EX-A-CALIIBUUURRRRRR
TPPR10 Posted October 21, 2012 Posted October 21, 2012 I'm not really worrying what will happen with the story mode music, just wondering. Two different things. And in my personal opinion, I don't like the idea of fighting as Nu without her armor that much. Unless it means we can whack the enmy with the Murakumo itself, then I'm all for it. Though what diffrence the modes would offer is different quession.
Calamitus Posted October 21, 2012 Posted October 21, 2012 They remixed only character themes. Story music should be new i think.
zeth07 Posted October 21, 2012 Posted October 21, 2012 Though holding a button to tech can also be techtrapped, etc., mashing the button actually punishes short tempered players into CH resets. I like it more. It forces you into teching more intelligently. Also the are a bunch of heavy damage combos with tricky links in the middle which are easy to blue beat but hard to tech out normally due to only 1-2 frame tech window in case of blue beat. While normally you are supposed to memmorize timing to tech there, holding button just gives you that for free. It is a simplification which is bad for the game in my opinion. By the way, has it been confirmed/announced?
Star-Demon Posted October 21, 2012 Posted October 21, 2012 I really welcome the hold tech. They can trash the other system changes for BB4 if they really really want to, but this should be kept.
mAc Chaos Posted October 21, 2012 Posted October 21, 2012 So you're just going to guess what's legit and what's not? Maybe they just missed their timing by a frame or two or maybe they're just exploiting your hesitation towards teching. Although the damage might be minor towards the end of the combo, they're still building a fair amount of meter with those extra hits and meter gain isn't affected by combo scaling. I suppose we just see things in a different light. I mash tech and learn when the opponent will attempt a "reset" as opposed to giving them extra meter for free. I guess I just have to be extremely careful as to not overshoot the A mash, it just happened once yesterday since I hadn't played CSE in ages. Oh well, I guess that won't be an issue in CP lol.
theshoemaker Posted October 21, 2012 Posted October 21, 2012 /monthly_10_2012/post-29195-139515172069.jpg" rel="external nofollow"> For other possible character additions, my friend and I were discussing the layout of the early shot of the Chrono Phantasma character selection screen for hints about what number (if any) of dlc characters or time released ones will be possible if Arc does not bother to alter the initial design. Based off of Continum Shift, there were 2 initial release characters (Yellow on Picture) 1. Tsubaki 2. Hazama (My friend persuaded me from considering Mu as he feels she is not different enough in character design and back-story to qualify as a new addition to the cast as he feels she is a "rip-off" of his Nu/Lambda) I included added circles one (Light-Blue) for Nu and one (Yellow) for Mu since they were just announced recently to be playable. By the time all reiterations of Continuum shift were released there were 4 additional "dlc" or add-on characters (Orange on Picture): 1. Makoto (Continuum Shift 2) 2. Valkenhayn (Continuum Shift 2) 3. Platinum (Continuum Shift 2) 4. Relius (Continuum Shift 2) So basically the number of initial "new" playable characters increased by a factor of 2 or they doubled. In regards to Chrono Phantasma, we have 3 initial release characters ( Bullet, Azrael, and Amane have Green circles). If the trend persists then there is a possibility of including 6 additional characters (empty Green circles in picture)to the initial release cast as DLC or unlockables: 1. Saya or whoever is the arcade true boss- Justification; Fan speculation and Calamity Trigger Introduction of Hazama as the villain at the conclusion (I put her green circle below the random indicator just like Mu was underneathe the random character section in Continuum Shift). 2. Jubei-Justification; Fan Desired and Teach Me Ms. Litchi dialogue 3. Kokonoe-Justification; Fan Desired and Help Me Prof. Kokonoe dialogue 4. Caelica- Justification; Fan Desired in Japan and ending to Phase Shift 4 5. Phantom or Nine- Justification; Fan Speculated 6. Bloodedge- Justification; Fan desired, Mori possible plot twist, and Order-Sol correlation for Guilty Gear This speculation is only using "new" possible playable characters that exist already in the BlazBlue universe and does not account for possible brand-new characters like the initial 3. I'm pretty sure Saya will be the arcade boss but not the final boss if the trend that started with Hazama in Continuum shift persists and that maybe the "Unlimited alternate outfit Tsubaki" may be the "true" arcade boss. The DLC characters will likely be characters fans recognize or want to play to provide incentive for their purchase and guarantee some sales. Because Chrono Phantasma is supposed to conclude the Six Heroes story arc, I believe Jubei and Nine/Phantom to be the most likely additions since fans are more likely to buy a DLC charcter that is strong according to the story since they might subconsciously translate story tiers for actual tiers and it ties well into the stated purpose of the game. What characters that might get placed into BlazBlue 4 makes some of these speculations unlikely as Arc would probably want to guarantee the most sales for the last in the chronology. Feel free to provide negative or positive feed-back against my consensus with my friend on this speculation as I am open to other viewpoints or criticisms for what (if any) DLC or add-on characters will be available in later iiterations (if any) from other fans as I feel the character roster is just as vital as the game mechanics and balancing for the game when considering a day 1 purchase or waiting for a cheaper compilation version (which happened with Continuum Shift->Extend).

Chaoschao222 Posted October 21, 2012 Posted October 21, 2012 You're not the only fan of the game, you know.
Julimano Posted October 21, 2012 Posted October 21, 2012 You shouldn't have to press buttons to tech in the middle of a combo JUST in case the opponent drops it, that's why I hate it the way it is now and welcome the holding the button down thing. (...)
someonewhodied Posted October 21, 2012 Posted October 21, 2012 6. Bloodedge- Justification; Fan desired, Mori possible plot twist, and Order-Sol correlation for Guilty Gear
zeth07 Posted October 21, 2012 Posted October 21, 2012 I still havent played P4A, but if holding the button to tech will still lead to a throw reject miss I dont have a problem with it, is this the case?
theshoemaker Posted October 21, 2012 Posted October 21, 2012 I understand the desires of the fans to not be a significant factor for adding new characters if they were not going to sell them individually. I feel that if they add any DLC characters, they would try to add the ones people are most likely going to buy to maximize profits. There is always the possibility they won't add DLC characters, but the fact that they might really causes me to question getting Chrono Phantasma day one or not to avoid another Extend occurrence where a character was only available on an add-on and not through DLC with the original disc. Does everyone else actually want any DLC for Chrono Phantasma?

Kyosuke Kagami Posted October 21, 2012 Posted October 21, 2012 "A whole new different move set of course" Sprite wise, which would also involve a completely different moveset So fuck no, no Bloodedge
