Or you could do what I inadvertently did with the previous version of the game... find someone who mains the unlock character (in this case, Kagura) and let him play through story mode for you. :vbang:

I still haven't actually completed a single story in BB yet, but I my copy of CSEX has a completed story mode. Hm.

Well, figuring out the japanese PSN thingy isnt that hard. There are quite a few guides out there how to make an account.

And as for the cards, just get paypal and buy the code from ebay or one of the code online shops out there. Worked for me at least.

Click buy, wait 5 mins for the mail, have fun with your psn stuff :O

Though another possibility would be, if someone would make a guide on how to skip through story mode fast to unlock the charaters.

How to beat story mode

1. Stay back

2. CPU air-dashes

3. Invincible frames/anti-air

4. Win

5. ???

As far as the story mode goes, I just don't want anything spoiled for me. It's not like I speak japanese or anything, but I'm sure I'll take something away from the experience.

Well, I was thinking about giving us the optimal answers, if there are any choises to make or something along those lines.

Setting the cpu on easy, taunting and roflstomping shouldn´t really be the problem, should it? (Unless unlimited Terumi melts faces, because he feels like it :O)

Well, in that case, always listen to Jubei.

Picking the incorrect answers in those "decision" parts of games shouldn't be the problem here, (cause that's the only screen time Kokonoe will be getting) who knows if they will pull the same trick they did with Tsubaki's story

Say, I just had a passing thought. Because of play-asia's 360 LE, and the currently near the end of time release date, is it possible that the reason why the USA won't get CP till March because they might be working on some way to make a 360 version? I'm sure we would've heard something by now from ASW about the 360 version but I also remember that Platinum games had worked on both a 360 and PS3 Metal Gear Rising, but they pulled any 360 sales in Japan. Probably because of a lack of sales or something.

Again, passing thought. Something to speculate and (for some people) wish for though.

I doubt we'll see a 360 release of the game. While its sad for me, I'll live by joining the PS3 community. Sucks since most of the people that I play with don't own one. Importing ftw I guess. I don't mind playing story mode a ton till I unlock Terumi/Kagura. I had the determination to finish an RPG in Japanese. How hard could a couple of dialogue choices be?

I think ASW is too small to even consider having a 360 only version in NA when the game doesn't sell too great on 360 in NA to begin with.

So....play-asia is again taking orders for LE, saying it will be in stock on Oct 24....for $170 without shipping....the hell? Where in the world did this price jump come from?

Demand. They know people will pay it until they've sold all their copies.

I am much more welcoming of spoilers, untranslated or otherwise. I have to feed myself some new piece of information regarding the game at some point. The announcements that ASW puts out every few months is hardly enough. It's why I go and spoil all the events in the newest Tales games for myself since they very rarely get localized and if they do, they're years apart from their JPN release.

Anyway, someone mentioned December is what the Aksys+ASW duo is aiming for? At the risk of sounding smug; I'll believe that when I see it. It would be good news but I am really not getting my hopes up for it. Would like to be proven wrong on the matter though...

This would be my dream come true and I'm hopeful they'll make it happen, call me naive.

Yeah, I definitely remember seeing it somewhere. I'm sure if I went back in this thread far enough I'd find it, maybe 50 pages or so.

At the moment, there is not much listed for a North American release save for some skydiving sports game and the next thing after that is Lightning Returns FFXIII (in February). December sounds like a good idea (right now anyway) and would indeed capitalize on the holiday rush. The question is: can they actually meet that deadline to reap the profits?

Nothing wrong with being hopeful or a bit naive. The problem only comes once you refuse to accept facts in favor of "blind hope" or refuse to learn from your past naivete :eng101:.

"Oh yeah, about this. I seem to remember someone from Aksys said at E3 they were trying for December THIS YEAR but it's incredibly unlikely, hence the "Q1 2014" date they're giving. From that, I think January is good bet. "

The most prominent post I could find, there were also a few off-handed posts hoping for a December release, and an uncited source, but nothing concrete.

You know, this would go over so much smoother (least I think so) if they made their announcements with a concrete date. I know, I know busy, not-so-big company and all that, but at least a numbered month would have been more reassuring than say "Q1 2014". Even if they have to push it back due to unforeseen circumstances, you at least get the sense they're trying to do the best damn job possible.

Well as close as your first guess was, March/April 2013 and considering your second guess was two weeks after the Japanese release lets hope third times the charm. I'm fine with these early guesses but now that we know how bad you are at this the possibility of a 2014 March release date basically just got confirmed. (^_^ /s)

As for me the latest release I hope for is February and still be happy (Birthday month.)

Yeah, if anything, there's that Amazon P-O listing and the Placeholder date I linked up to a couple pages back, can't be concrete yet, but seeing as Aksys did mention next year Q1 release, so if its anything to go by, its that, or for those that can't wait, Import, lol. :kitty:

Apparently Q4 date is their best damn job. Import or deal with it and keep it moving..

You know I never understood people's fascination with saying "deal with it" to another for situations that they have no way of improving. Were you under the impression that I could bend reality to my will or something? I already answered why importing isn't an option for me and have made peace with the fact that I will need to rely on the localization. All I was saying is that a concrete date is a little more reassuring to those who will inevitably have to wait. But meh, details.

Actually, does anyone remember how long it took for the arcade version to be patched for the (then) console exclusive characters (u-12, Makoto etc.)? I'm kinda trying to gauge how long until we see actual players get their hands on Kagura and Terumi.

Posted

The point of "deal with it" statements is that if there's nothing you can do to fix the situation, bargaining, complaining, or etc'ing about it won't help you, meaning your best option is to in fact, deal with it and move on. It may not be a fun option, but life isn't fun, life's a bitch.

Also, since when were console players not "actual players?"
