Master Of Chaos Posted August 20, 2013 Posted August 20, 2013 (edited) People play Haukemen so that they can watch as a giant samurai robot shouts outs "UNIT COOKIE DOUGH" and then starts beating the fuck out of the guy next to them. People play Mu because DAT ASS. Edited August 20, 2013 by Master Of Chaos
spaghetti Posted August 21, 2013 Posted August 21, 2013 (edited) No one actually plays Hakumen or Mu. They are robots. And I'm not talking about Hakumen and Mu Edited August 21, 2013 by spaghetti
Myoro Posted August 21, 2013 Posted August 21, 2013 Reminds me of my conspiracy theory that 90% of Noels on netplay are, in reality, just people's house cats continually stepping on the "D" button while their masters are away.
Dreize Posted August 21, 2013 Posted August 21, 2013 Reminds me of my conspiracy theory that 90% of Noels on netplay are, in reality, just people's house cats continually stepping on the "D" button while their masters are away. Thank you so much.
beanwich Posted August 21, 2013 Posted August 21, 2013 Reminds me of my conspiracy theory that 90% of Noels on netplay are, in reality, just people's house cats continually stepping on the "D" button while their masters are away. It all makes sense now.
Airk Posted August 21, 2013 Posted August 21, 2013 I'm not really confident even the Tsubaki mains will agree she's decent in cs2..... No, I think the general consensus among Tsubaki mains is that she was solid during CS2; She had a few things which were "dumb" in the sense of "Good" and that's generally what it takes to get out of "meh" tier in this game. She certainly wasn't S tier, but she had a lot of things going for her that she doesn't in Extend. CP is an improvement from Extend, certainly, but I think it's kindof a wash against CS2. We'll see as more stuff develops though.
A Classy Gamer Posted August 21, 2013 Posted August 21, 2013 So what gameplay niches do the CP characters fill? (Keep-away, mix-ups, grappler, etc.)
SoWL Posted August 21, 2013 Posted August 21, 2013 Famitsu got an article on CP's story mode and how it works: http://www.famitsu.com/news/201308/22038666.html In before "OMG KOKONOE AND JUBEI PLAYABLE!" - they're not.
BlackYakuzu94 Posted August 21, 2013 Posted August 21, 2013 (edited) Tsubaki's cool, she just never really seemed very strong balance wise...its like she's Jin-lite. EDIT: Oh shit, the Imperator is back....does that mean she's taking a more active role in the plot now Edited August 21, 2013 by BlackYakuzu94
AMB Bakery Posted August 21, 2013 Posted August 21, 2013 (edited) So what gameplay niches do the CP characters fill? (Keep-away, mix-ups, grappler, etc.) No character plays keep-away unless it's vs Tager or Hakumen or if you're playing as Hakumen and just building meter. You mix-up as hard as you possibly can with every character, though some are better than it than others (Hazama, Valk, Tao <----all top tier pick one of those chars if you don't want to be miserable) Grappler is Tager and he sucks, don't pick him. Joke post over. I guess I'll answer your question as best as I can by just dividing the characters into categories (some will fill more than one category, in fact most will) Characters with medium-long/long-range footsie/spacing normals: Ragna, Jin, Hakumen, Azrael, Tager, Mu, Litchi, Valkenhayn, Platinum, Bullet, Makoto, Bang, Taokaka, Hazama (chain LOOOOOL) Characters with projectile oki: Mu, Litchi, Makoto, Amane, Arakune, Bang (in some cases), Izayoi, Rachel, v-13, Platinum (with presents/bombs), Relius/Carl (if you count dolls as projectiles which they kind of act as them in this case), Taokaka (bowling ball wwww), Ragna (for midscreen deadspike > dash cancel sometimes) Characters with unique movement: Izayoi, Azrael, Hazama, Valkenhayn, Taokaka, Arakune, Rachel, v-13 Characters that optimally want to be in your face: Bullet, Bang, Platinum, Hazama, Valkenhayn, Taokaka, Azrael, Tsubaki, Ragna, Tager, Noel Characters that have good high-low: Azrael, Hazama, Valkenhayn, Taokaka, Litchi, Carl (unblockable in some cases), Rachel Characters with meterless DP's: Ragna, Jin, Bullet, Azrael, Tsubaki, Litchi (w/staff), Makoto, Platinum (w/bat), Mu Characters with silly (invincible) D's Bullet, Noel, Hakumen Characters with high, unburstable/hard to burst damage: Arakune, OD Hakumen, v-13, Bullet Characters with gimmicks/resets you need to get used to blocking/jumping/calling out: Jin, Tager Character with high chip damage: Amane I'm missing a lot of categories but I hope this helps answer your question a little bit. Don't know why you asked this though, you should seriously just be picking top tier but then again you (allegedly) play Anakaris... Edited August 21, 2013 by AMB Bakery
darkasjinksu§ Posted August 21, 2013 Posted August 21, 2013 Relius is my second-favorite male character. But Terumi always wins?
Skye Posted August 21, 2013 Posted August 21, 2013 Famitsu got an article on CP's story mode and how it works: http://www.famitsu.com/news/201308/22038666.html In before "OMG KOKONOE AND JUBEI PLAYABLE!" - they're not. Could you translate, please?
SoWL Posted August 21, 2013 Posted August 21, 2013 Could you translate, please? Not today, but I can try if no one else does by the time I get home tomorrow.
beanwich Posted August 21, 2013 Posted August 21, 2013 But Terumi always wins? Yes, Terumi always wins, one way or another. Relius is my second-favorite, he'll just have to accept his back-seat status.
BlackYakuzu94 Posted August 21, 2013 Posted August 21, 2013 Screw that, Hazama had his turn in CS, now its Relius` time to shine.
kylehyde Posted August 21, 2013 Posted August 21, 2013 (edited) Not today, but I can try if no one else does by the time I get home tomorrow. If it's not too much trouble, could you translate the screencap with Rachel and Ragna? neither of them look too happy Edited August 21, 2013 by kylehyde
Chaoschao222 Posted August 21, 2013 Posted August 21, 2013 When do either of those characters look happy?
00Bubbles00 Posted August 21, 2013 Posted August 21, 2013 Nago looks happy staring at Ragna's lower half.
AMB Bakery Posted August 21, 2013 Posted August 21, 2013 The only important thing I got from the whole article (at least what's there for right now, it'll probably be expanded within a week or two) was that Ragna needs to seek "クシナダの楔" in order to beat/combat the imperator.
Chaoschao222 Posted August 21, 2013 Posted August 21, 2013 So he needs something the Imperator has to beat the Imperator. Welp GGs, wp, Ragna.
kylehyde Posted August 21, 2013 Posted August 21, 2013 I guess the Blazblue coupled with the idea engine ain't going to be enough. Not that I thought it was going to be. Terumi's got that shit on lockdown anyway.
Myoro Posted August 21, 2013 Posted August 21, 2013 Kushinada no something= Kushinada's something yeah if it's not kushinada's other plot devices it's prolly his lynchpin
