Celerity Posted June 13, 2013 Posted June 13, 2013 new (though unofficial) tier lists rachel at a+ in the first position. may mean shes the closet to top tier or may not have a particular order. either way, this is the highest hime has been since old ct It feels good.
gamester Posted June 13, 2013 Posted June 13, 2013 We shall shatter our opponents like glass beneath her heel and scatter the shards to the wind xD (I need to play story mode again)
Venussail91 Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 I really like that 'you' (is that his/her actual name?) person in the videos Zoular recently posted. He seems to play Rachel in a more "classic" way (if that makes any sense) while still implementing the new stuff. I think he/she may just be my favorite Rachel player next to N-O.
kodimt Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 Kind of sucks that CP Rachel is my favorite so far, and I'm probably going to be playing someone else. Obviously I'll always know how to play her, but 6 new characters in CP? mmmmmm Anyone else doing this?
Celerity Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 None of the new characters really interest me more than Rachel. If Kokonoe gets revealed, though...
Zoular Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 I really like that 'you' (is that his/her actual name?) person in the videos. That's the name which was in the description for the '06/08/13' matches. I assumed it was the same player for the '05/08/13' matches too. The Nesica card was the same, still a hidden name though.
samthegreat Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 I'd rather chop my arms and legs off than not main Rachel, if that answers your question.
gamester Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 I'd rather chop my arms and legs off than not main Rachel, if that answers your question. I concur with this statement
Tari Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 Never gonna stop playing Rachel~. I'll probably pick up Izayoi as another sub, though, alongside Platinum. Gotta actually get around to learning the combos for the other characters at some point, really....
Venussail91 Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 I actually don't have any subs nor do I plan on picking any up. Just going to continue to main Rachel.
sparkaura Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 I'd rather chop my arms and legs off than not main Rachel, if that answers your question. Well said, I never thought I would be mega fan boy again over another character other than Lucario from pokemon. However, Amane is really interesting to me as far as new characters go. Something about overly flamboyant male characters make me laugh every time lol.
Wild Candy Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 I love Rachel, and I kinda toggle between using her and Makoto because of their fairly different styles of fighting. I personally love both of their designs and personalities, and I would never be able to settle to just use Makoto or Rachel. Other then that, I don't have any subs or anything.
kirbster Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 I'd rather chop my arms and legs off than not main Rachel, if that answers your question. *cough valk cough*
samthegreat Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 *cough valk cough* I don't main Valk and I don't plan to.
Nemesis Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 They can all join the army of subs Like.... I want to believe this is sarcasm but now that we've had just a few games-- I know that it isn't .... I recognize that maintaining subs is certainly possible - I play 5 chars myself quite regularly -- but so much new info so quickly -- how are you gonna make sense if it all
TD Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 Like.... I want to believe this is sarcasm but now that we've had just a few games-- I know that it isn't .... I recognize that maintaining subs is certainly possible - I play 5 chars myself quite regularly -- but so much new info so quickly -- how are you gonna make sense if it all l play lots, read lots, watch lots. the information is bound to stick. that's why the game is fun, you never stop learning and doing.
kodimt Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 That's probably why I find this version of the game so boring. I only play Rachel, so I have no subs. And I don't practice anything either. I just go online and do mixups and people die or I lose. Terumi pls. Maybe I'll actually have a sub.
TD Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 increase wind strength. a lotus (blue bat) increases it vertically and b lotus (pink bat) increases it horizontally. a lotus right now is the midscreen ground combo extender and makes j2c lv3 combos possible/easier (with corner carry combos and heat/j2c lv3 nerfs a lotus is pretty useless atm). b lotus dramatically increases zoning potential. rachel becomes lambda/nu for like 10 seconds, shes much harder to touch with b lotus and it has situational synergy with OD as well
samthegreat Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 Oh, more than 10s. It lasts pretty long, which is nice.
TD Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 oh right, b lotus also makes most of her combos into auto corner-carry with a potentially significant wind cost reduction. since the corner and corner-carry combos are the cornerstone of rachel's offense (yes... lots of corners), it's really, really good and could be the reason she's enjoying top/high tierdom edit: l figured lotus had more time. how much exactly? off the top of my head i'll give it 12-13 secs (she has a recurring "13" theme lol)
Zoular Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 has N-O fought a high ranking hazama player in a video? l'd like to see how he deals with haz chains. Some more matches in case you missed it. Yuika (Hazama) VS N-otoko (Rachel) Aru (Hazama) VS N-Otoko (Rachel)
TD Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 much appreciated. haz download:...1% there are several ways that l see N-O approaching the neutral which could help us now. - turtle; standard movement as all the following are beaten by a non-followup chain. (there are certain "blindspots" that haz seems unable to cover when throwing out a chain without followup. l assume some are: between 5d and 6d, between 6d and 4d, between j.d and j.6d, and right above him. N-O seems good at being in the right places.) - j.236b; seems to be the main poke, presumably shuts down all ground d followups, and safer at around 3/4 screen - j.236a; is the same except used for air d followups -pumpkin; is pumpkin, clashes with chains with more freedom, but trickier and cant afford too much. decent at super double jump height not seeing much frog/ground lobelias (minimal use of 236a shocked me), outside of standard use. he definitely saves wind for mixup. this is all theory but it feels like great information, like i'm on to something. this is great
TD Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 A few minutes of testing and some playing confirms that most of that stuff really works. It's like the matchup makes 10x more sense for me now. So hype! Of course a few more days of analyzing these matches are in order, because N-O da bes
