Wild Candy Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 I'm really glad were getting some noteworthy players between Goro, Matsu, and Eda. Makoto is one of those characters with a wicked and unforgiving learning curve, but once you get the hang of her, can destroy people in a rushdown rampage. Besides, CP Makoto is still a vast improvement over CSE Makoto. I'm happy with her! It may be a struggle, but things are looking up greatly!

He also has a Makoto at 15th dan. His character choices make him a hero of sorts to me. Now this guy plays at Playspot Big One according to his profile. He's playing with pros like Mitsurugi and Fenrichi so he's not a pushover by any means and yet there hasn't been any footage of this guy since February. This is causing me great distress. y u no play on stream saki /end irrelevant complaint Also, there's 4 Makoto's at 15th dan. Eda is at the top of the 15th dan bracket on the overall ranking, meaning he's about a handful of wins away from his Rank-up match into 16th dan. These squirrels are leveling the fuck up. I'm still not gonna let go of that "worst character option-select" status though.

I feel like I've got it down, but for whatever reason I'm doing this really ghetto and kind of hilarious cross-under when I go to micro dash 5CC, so it ends up missing. Is there anything in particular I should try to do to remedy this, or maybe it's just weird timing against Ragna?

MarkusArx Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 Some characters don't actually need a microdash for. Ragna is one of them, so you should just be able to link it without a dash. It's been a bit since I played, but I think Jin, Noel, Carl and Arakune require a microdash.
Bibiquadium Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 I wouldn't reccomend getting used to that. Just keep practicing on Noel until you get it to work, then you'll be set for pretty much everyone in the cast.

The higher your opponent is in the air when you 214A~D, the easier it'll be for you to dash 5CC before they tech.
Bibiquadium Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 (edited) By as soon as you can its literally 5B 6A 2D 2C, dont wait, 2C is a slow move and will catch the falling opponent and 214A~D 5CC right after, technically speaking dashing shouldn't be required afterward 5CC is supposed to pick up. I don't recall ever needing to micro dash 5CC after a 214A~D but I do micro dash my 2C to be close to the wall. Oh and I almost forgot, if your 214A~D is fully charged in the 3 there are more chances for it to whiff than partially charged in the 3. Edited June 5, 2013 by Bibiquadium

I usually prefer to do comet cannon combos, but we know, there are bitches in this world. Noel obviously, but also Litchi. so I did 5cc> JB and the JB whiffs on Litchi. Annoying that she is also anti-comet cannon.

Errol Posted June 9, 2013 Posted June 9, 2013 the thing about me is I play 95% online with connections ranging from 0s to 3s, and against various chars. it's very interesting trying to figure out the netplay lag from match to match in order to land a PF3. But I try to avoid the tighter combos if I have a reasonable alternative as a result.

Jin and Valk don't bother me outside of the can't pick them up with 5b or 6a problem, but they're easy enough for everything else. Jin and Valk's hitboxes don't affect what I have to do outside of combos. Litchi and Noels' do. because for the same reason comet cannon is annoying on them, other stuff also whiffs on them - 5b 5c and 5cc. to some degree can deal with this by minimizing use of 5cc but it changes how you have to confirm stuff. within combos I super jump when I leave the ground against every char except Litchi. not really a problem, except I sometimes forget.

But back on topic, I want to know if Makoto's hitbox changed. Because Makoto's hitbox was pretty darn weird itself, lol

Full-screen combos with a cancellable projectile, super-heat gain, and supreme mobility apparently weren't enough, lol edit: Vaguely asking errol, but did you win?
Errol Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 nah I didn't. He gets stupid damage off everything now, and that OD SMP combo is dumb too. Comboing off his overhead is dumb too. I don't know if it's dumb but if you sit there and try to block, you eat the command grab DD... it was the same way with EX. they pick a character to go hog wild(ragna) with while nerfing almost everyone.

No, she's looking quite the badass this time around, and it felt good watching her eat Hakumen's 10k combo like it was nothin' but a thing, and then totally fisting him at the end of that same round afterward. And she still has even more potential that we are (trying) to find out. No tears to be had here for me. haz's overhead is actually a 19f overhead that you can combo off of.
