Yazumatto Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 ...Makoto players seems to be plagued with the "almost got there's" . orz
Domethieus Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 Haven't been on here in months. Updated the picture in the combo thread so it's at least entertaining again. Been watching CP videos of Makoto. She still seems solid.
BlackKaizer Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 After that wake up super, he deserved to lose, come on a simply DP into RC could have safely saved him their :/
Chaoschao222 Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 After that wake up super, he deserved to lose, come on a simply DP into RC could have safely saved him their :/ DP woulda likely also whiffed. Kuroku's best shot was probably block > CA > hope for the best.
Yazumatto Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 I just watched the matches. Wakeup PF was a panic move for sure. YOLO Corona Upper would have been better because of the angle Jin was descending at. At least you have the chance to RC. That, 6A, or what Chao said. Those were some hella good matches though. That I will admit. Kuroku leveled up hard. Jin too stronk though. Also, those Makoto players are sexy bitches, no homo.
BlackKaizer Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 DP woulda likely also whiffed. Kuroku's best shot was probably block > CA > hope for the best. The jin lept over particle flare on reaction, something he wouldnt have been able to do against corrona upper. I thought maybe it was a panic move, but DPs are usually the go to under that, so in my opinion he just didnt GOF what happened, and went for it.

Wild Candy Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 Slowly improving with Makoto, I think My defense has gotten a lot better, and My Neutral game has improved a lot since when I first started. I think now its getting the hang of maintaing pressure and combos, and getting the hang of mix ups. Stargazer says I improved a lot when I last played him, and I feel like I improved a lot to. But I still have a long way to go, and I still have a lot to learn. Hopefully the few things I have learned haven't changed to much from CSE to CP.
HiagoX Posted May 18, 2013 Author Posted May 18, 2013 I think when I tried to do stuff like 2a>5b>6c>shooting star > 6a> 2d they teched between the 6a and 2d. to the degree that you do that much stuff between the jab starter and the 6a>2d they'll tech, I think. There're probably other ways to do stuff. but the standard seems to be to just doing 6a> jb > jd> 5d> oki if you did a shooting star. It does definitely work iirc, it's just a little strict. new shooting star doesn't feel very useful outside of combos. it needs something else. and if i'm not mistaken, 3c doesn't quite work against projectiles the same anymore. I wasn't able to 3c through tsubaki's projectile, which has foot attribute. but in EX we were able to 3c thru projectiles with foot, like spike chaser. It's as useful as it was before - that means not much. Also I didn't notice any differences with 3C when I played, but I also didn't notice any buffs which means 3C is a pretty terrible move and shouldn't be used at all except in very specific situations. Not to mention the reward you get from 3C is worse now.
Yazumatto Posted May 19, 2013 Posted May 19, 2013 ...goddammit. GODDAMMIT. I KNEW I SHOULDN'T HAVE TUNED IN ARGGGGGGGH. ...good shit daiwa. >.>
Eshi Posted May 19, 2013 Posted May 19, 2013 Goro just got eliminated. Fuck. EVERYTHING! EDIT: Hivemind?
Yazumatto Posted May 19, 2013 Posted May 19, 2013 (edited) Yep. Squirrels can sense when someone of their kind is tragically cut down in their prime. Dx The only squirrel in the room got eliminated by the only Platinum in the room. FUCKING LOLIS UGH. Edited May 19, 2013 by Yazumatto
Wild Candy Posted May 19, 2013 Posted May 19, 2013 SCREW YOU PLATINUM! YOU FUCKING LOLI WHORE! EDIT: If a Haku-Men wins, I'm calling biast on Arc System's part.
Yazumatto Posted May 19, 2013 Posted May 19, 2013 HEY. NO CHARACTER BASHING. If Daiwa gets bopped after beating Goro, I will travel to Japan and kill him though.
Mr OSD Posted May 19, 2013 Posted May 19, 2013 The dream is dead. Stayed up untill 7:30AM just to watch him lose Was about to kill someone when they switched to P4A halfway during the match. Time for bed. No reason to keep watching now that he's out.
Yazumatto Posted May 19, 2013 Posted May 19, 2013 So according to the brackets. Goro got to the Block E finals before losing to Daiwa. Daiwa will be advancing to the top 8 in block E. Apparently Fenrichi never made it past the first round. Tiku pulled a Bane on Fenrichi and 720'd his back into oblivion.
Wild Candy Posted May 19, 2013 Posted May 19, 2013 HEY. NO CHARACTER BASHING. If Daiwa gets bopped after beating Goro, I will travel to Japan and kill him though. Sorry, just a little disappointed my favorite Squirrel Girl and my favorite player didn't make it past the first round...
Yazumatto Posted May 19, 2013 Posted May 19, 2013 ...your favorite player is Fenrichi? o_O Goro made it to Block E finals which means he beat a Nu, then he beat a Carl or Litchi. Daiwa was 19th dan at one time and he held the #1 rank for a bit before Mitsurugi just annihilated him and dropped him from 19th dan to 14th dan. Also, here is your top 8. RYO(Relius) Galileo(Litchi) Zekuso(Valkenhayn) Abarenja(Mu-12) Daiwa(Platinum) Dogura(Azrael) N-Otoko(Rachel) Tsujikawa(Taokaka) Relius, Rachel, Platinum and Makoto each had only one rep. 3 of them are in top 8. Good shit to them. However, I'm rooting for Azrael because violence.
Eshi Posted May 19, 2013 Posted May 19, 2013 The dream is dead. Stayed up untill 7:30AM just to watch him lose Was about to kill someone when they switched to P4A halfway during the match. Time for bed. No reason to keep watching now that he's out.that almost made me scream too, until I realized it was Denpa and he was shitting on his opponent. I'm okay with that.
Wild Candy Posted May 19, 2013 Posted May 19, 2013 I meant Goro, he got eliminated right? Anyway, I guess I'll cheer on N-Otoko (Rachel) Now.
Yazumatto Posted May 19, 2013 Posted May 19, 2013 ...that dude was getting pooped on pretty hard though, haha.
Airk Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 and if i'm not mistaken, 3c doesn't quite work against projectiles the same anymore. I wasn't able to 3c through tsubaki's projectile, which has foot attribute. but in EX we were able to 3c thru projectiles with foot, like spike chaser. Spike Chaser doesn't HAVE foot in Extend. It looks like it SHOULD, but it doesn't. They fixed it for CP, so you can't 3C through it anymore, but that's a change to Spike Chaser, not 3C. As far as the frame data indicates, 3C is exactly the same in CP. People keep saying you can't use 2C to follow up afterwards, but it's not clear what that is based on since nobody uses the move enough to test it anyway. :P
Errol Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 dunno, but stuff is different. in EX Makoto can parry sickle storm which is FP, and parry is listed as only being HB catch.
HiagoX Posted May 23, 2013 Author Posted May 23, 2013 (edited) It also catches projectiles which is the reason as for why it works. Edited May 23, 2013 by HiagoX
Yazumatto Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 (edited) You guys ready for the quarterly Makoto reports? http://sp.bbcp.ac/ranking_view.php?p=2&mode=exe&type=psr_rank Goro is still doing his thing at 17th dan. It seems infinitely tougher to get back to 18th dan. Competition is fierce. He's currently at the middle of the 17th dan pack. He is 18th place at the time of this post. He had a decent showing at ArcRevo. By that I mean he didn't get bopped in the first round. However, Matsu has been doing some crazy things lately. He's at the top of the 16th dan bracket and 25th place overall right now which means that when player rankings roll up on the machine, there are TWO Makotos in the top 30. Oh snap. To be honest, I'm pleasantly surprised Matsu is sticking with her after being a Bang God since CT. His argument of "Bang is dead" isn't true at all and he's still a better character than Makoto. In any case, I'm not complaining and I'm glad he has joined us in "The Struggle." Eda is alive and well at 15th dan. Apparently the second ranked Azrael has a 13th dan Makoto, which sort of means he's my role model right now. All I need is a name now lol. Kuroku dropped back to 13th dan but he's still the combo king. Final verdict: things are looking alright for the worst character in the game. Makoto has some great reps helping her out in the second straight year of "The Struggle." "Keep calm and squirrel on." Edited May 23, 2013 by Yazumatto
