And never avoid Makoto's butt. That would be foolish.

Never have I felt more conflicted about a game in a fighting game as I do with Squirrel butt.

 

Goddamnit.

 

Also if you guys want a fun character who represents the oppai brigade, we could always use more Bullet! :V

Bullet doesn't compare to Makoto either, heck, barely even Litchi. They both may have bigger boobies, but they don't have that awesome tail or personality trait. And CS1 Makoto is hands down the funnest character I've played so far. I have yet to seriously try Bullet, and Litchi strikes me as "eh... alright I guess."

 

As characters, neither of them strike me as truly deep or interesting. Neither did Makoto to a certain degree for a while if we aren't including initial personality, until Extend happened (more backstory, good end, bad end, joke end, etc), that's when I noticed a lot of potential in her as a character. Untapped potential I might add.

I think I simply purchased this game for the wrong reasons. I wanted another good version of the character I mained. Was also kind of interested in learning bullet. Unfortunately, both turned out to be garbage tier wise. Now I hardly touch the game. Not out of spite or anything, but rather solid disinterest. The only thing that keeps me from going online with BBCS2 again is the fact that I have it on xbox and refuse to pay out a monthly fee just to play online.

That's why I played a friend's copy first. Lack of changes to my character combined with little to no good updates in the patch were a recipe for disaster. No money from me this thime Arcsys. :P

 

Definitely not worth the $70+ to me. Tiers wouldn't matter to me as long as there were bigger differences to Makoto to play around with, but other than being slightly more solid, she's mostly the same.Not much fun to be had once you have OD figured out. :/

 

It's a shame I don't have BBCS2 anymore though. :(

I wish they'd put more time in some other characters, Makoto especially, it also wouldn't hurt to give others like Arakune a solid purpose again. And yeah, BB's world is interesting, as screwed up as it is. :lol:

 

At least there's a lot of Makoto in story mode screentime-wise, though most of it is comedic.

I'm actually at ~45% and she isn't that time comedic, at least it isn't a cheap comedy "Hey look how stupid she is", it's more like she's too relaxed to be a fugitive at all and she acts too easygoing most of the time, but I actually think that she's really worried (or at least more serious) on the inside even with that attitude, she's a heavy support character for a lot of people and finally she has at least one really important moment in the story.

But yes, some of the characters are in the story just for the sake of it, but I think it's better than not seeing them at all.

They need to make Lander Blow be 4/6D instead of only coming after Lunatic Upper. Every character who's drives are just another set of attacks has some type of 4 or 6 D attack except for Makoto and Amane.

 

Oh and give us initial dash speed back please Arc...or at least make us faster than Bang (who carries a giant metal nail on his back ffs).

I can't really say anything about this as (a) I don't have a PS3+ and (b) I suck at any fighting game not named Smash.

Can't argue with that, and that's despite everything she's already been through (something Kagura notes in CP14). I'd say more, but that'll be covered below.

That may be, but Makoto seems to have the largest potential per capita amongst the entire cast. I get the distinct impression thus far that Mori has quashed her development to keep her from becoming too relevant too early, but time is running out, and throwing all that away for some waifu-of-the-week is a Meyer-grade mistake.

 

Makoto cannot remain underdeveloped through the fourth game, as

  • A drastically lowered population is the perfect time to end the race war - without prolific ars magus use, the enhanced physical abilities beastkind possesses would be the ideal engine for a labor force, and Makoto would make the perfect example as to how a beastkin can prove beneficial to society at large.
  • Relius pointed out in the Slight Hope bad ending that Makoto's soul is of higher quality than Ada's, and since Carl is pushing him to recreate Ada, he could conduct one last experiment to improve the efficiency of this task. If Makoto's assistance also proves viable in helping restore Roy, albeit only temporarily since he's too far gone to persist, the methodology could help in saving Ragna as well.
  • The trauma of Makoto's pre-Academy life may have imposed restrictions on her own abilities, and having to worry about Noel, Jin and Tsubaki all the time has slowed down her own self-realization. With all three of them back under one roof (with Celica tending to Jin), she might have the chance to rectify that and possibly discover something of use against Izanami and the Embryo as a result.
  • Any of these would impair the quality of Terumi's return - ending the race war would starve him of his precious hate and prove that despair is not the only truth in reality, a favorable encounter with Relius would deprive him of potential allies and/or pawns, and facing herself would impair Ouroboros' effectiveness and improve her overall survival probability against him. Seeing Terumi die in a death/despair paradox from overusing his Azure Grimoire in these cases, especially now that there's no seithr to fuel the Grimoire, would be more fitting than a whack from Hakumen's Time Killer.

  • Makoto will not have anything to do with Relius.  End of Discussion...unless she was promised a clone army of Carls that never age or something.
  • These patch notes have confirmed that Makoto apparently also got super beat up at the end of the game with her legs being crippled.

I hope all of this makes it to the next game. Obligatory Makoto changes and improvements better be included in terms of gameplay. if not, I'm done with this series. I don't play for Mori's main peeps like Ragna, Noel, and Hazama. I'm in this for Makoto all the way.

 

And yeah, story discussion and wishlisting here is depressing, it just goes to show you how bad the situation is; the changes didn't do dog shit for us, so there's not much to talk about really. Zepp doesn't want to hear Makoto stuff either. When are groups coming back?

Well, today was a busy day, but I'm glad folks got back on this. And hello, Yazu - welcome to the party.

 

Story discussion...its that depressing...

I'm aware that race hate doesn't just disappear overnight - it wasn't that long ago in our world where we had a civil rights movement of our own to deal with (in the US, anyway). As for Kagura, I was banking on him getting the ball rolling in the human sector (remember, CP14), with Makoto as the exemplar. I have no idea if the current heads of Houses Kisaragi or Yayoi would comply (though Jin and Tsubaki aren't averse to the notion if their time with Makoto is any indication), but something tells me that House Hazuki is going to be the odd one out.

 

And I doubt Makoto would willingly assist Relius at the drop of a hat, if that's what you're thinking. He could try to bargain with the protagonists (his aid in unmaking Izanami and the Embryo in exchange for assistance in restoring Ada and Roy to his specifications), or he could try to make a move of his own, with the protagonists being diverted into stopping him. Do you honestly think a soul that's "focused, yet pointing in multiple directions" is something he'd realistically give up on if it helps his research? I mean, Relius has fixed encounters with Makoto in CS and CP Arcade for this very reason; you'd think he'd want to see it through.

 

Yeah, I find Relius a better villain because he actually knows what he's doing. It's too soon to accurately judge Izanami, and there are no words for how hard Terumi fails. Want more? PMs, folks.

Wouldn't be the first time I did so. And it seems "Ambassador Nanaya" is a viable possibility if three people (four if we include Angry Guy) approve of it within the first twenty-four hours. We'll see if Mori is thinking the same thing.

 

...Wait, Zepp isn't interested in Makoto's potential fate and/or role in the series? Or is it nobody talks about it?

This is why we need the group back so we can all talk bullshit again. I mean, we can talk up a storm in chat and Zepp, but it'd feel like we just invaded since anything goes. I'd hate for us to be hogging it up.

 

edit: also I don't count on Mori doing shit really, unless something weird happens, like they spontaneously fire a lot of people at Arc and bring in people who know what they're doing.

Taunt combos anyone? Doing the same combos over and over again gets boring. And even landing Astrals can become routine (since Mak can Astral after almost anything lol).

 

So I came up with a few ways to work taunts into existing combos without making it drop. Here goes:

 

 

1.) 5B > 6C > 214A~C > 236D > RC > Taunt > 5B > 6A > 2D > 2C etc....During the standard corner combo you can add a taunt after Shooting Star if you've got 50 heat.

 

2.) CT (Guard Crush) > CT > Taunt > 214A~C > 236D etc...Requires 50 heat. If you guard crush someone in the corner you can make them look pretty bad.

 

3.) *At the end of a Corner Combo* j.D > 66 > 5D > RC > 66 > Taunt > 236236D....Uses 100 heat. Do this if you don't want to Astral or it's round one lol.

 

Let it also be noted that these should still do around 4k apiece, so you're not sacrificing that much damage for style.

 

 

If you guys have some taunt combos or just flashy stuff feel free to share.

Hm. Trying to remember exactly since I quit messing with it a while ago once I saw the patch notes and got sad(+it was sort of unreasonable to land in a match), but the taunt combo I settled on was something like

 

Parry > RC > CT > OD > "wanna touch my tail?" > 2B > DP > 214B~D > TK DP > 214A~D > 236D > 5D > 6C > PF(2) > fluffy tail finish

 

70-75% minimum health for OD time. Starting with 100 heat, it'd build just barely enough for the super ender.

Could probably have refined it more. The 5D untech time wasn't enough to get in a good dash before the 6C, so I'd get that awkward situation where the 3rd hit of Particle Flare would end up whiffing, but it didn't really matter anyway.

I think the OD fatal 5D Comet Cannon and mid-combo astral whiff stuff is cooler if it's just for max style points, but getting parried, then not being able to burst the taunt and still getting picked up with an OD combo afterwards is priceless.

That's cool that you can taunt right before their doom, haha. I also like the "wanna touch my tail" and you actually finish with the tail.  What about the Defeat Acorn? Is there a way to combo that one yet?

The concept of taunting and then still landing a Particle Flare sounds too funny to not try and use.
As for ambassador...I'm getting this image of Makoto wearing an outfit closer to Vanessa's in KoF.  I DON'T DISLIKE THIS IMAGE!

Holy crap. This would be the best thing ever. 

Although, if we're talking outfits, are we going with the shirt or without the shirt with just the straps? Imagine the latter in gameplay! <3
