[CP1.1] Makoto Nanaya's Gameplay Discussion - When's 2.0?

I can't exactly go anywhere right now. School.

ikr. Squirrel tail is so good, it deserves a life of its own.

 

So how is the footage for Makoto looking? Is she doing worse then before? Better? Or about the same?

 

Makoto is slightly nerfed or about the same in 1.1.

 

Tier lists on jbbs and top player tweets so far have her as the worst in game, she is in a tier of her own (and sometimes she shares it with Tager), its no surprise because her current post patch status is already pretty weak if not the worst while everyone else of her class is climbing up in tier. I don't know how it will play or feel since i didn't look much into the new changes for other characters. Word from players is that the game feels more balanced after the update so it might actually be the same or even better than the current BBCP for Makoto?

Well, I haven't been able to develop my digital art skills quick enough to make a birthday pic in time, but I did manage to up my WiFi Warrior square to yellow today. That's kinda a present too, right? I'm still going to go for a belated happy birthday art for her, tho.

Havent played at the arcade recently. Havin to come home to CP Makoto and playing 1.1 Makoto outside just makes me too lazy to play at all.

There had better be some secret buff that they just haven't discovered yet. Plus I never really backdash anyways...poor Omnix.

I never really backdashed with Makoto much to avoid stuff either, mainly because of how fast the move happens. Characters generally have really active hitboxes on a lot of their attacks and you'd need immaculate timing to actually avoid something. I can't imagine it being even worse... more frames to go through with no extra invuln.

Also, I'm sorry Makoto is still kinda buns in 1.1 guys. I really wanna play her, but the struggle is far too real for me to attempt it ;_;

Oh no worries, I just heard Goro is playing Kokonoe now. The struggle is no longer a thing for her now.

...she's dead.

He's not really maining Kokonoe (yet) but apparently he has been playing around with her a bit.

Ah. Maybe he is looking for a character he can win big events like gods garden with. No disrespect to Goro's skill but I don't see any Makoto player winning that any time soon while maining Makoto.

She's too weak, I'd be surprised if she does anything this installment. The next person saying "she's fine" or "she's totally viable" should get a reality check (the whole BB community). She's damn near Jagi status in Fist of the North Star if I had to take a guess at it.

Like any character, I still think that Makoto is still usable. However, the "perk" of her character was her strength. Story mode, beastkin, yada yada.

I don't mind characters having to be a bit more complicated. But when the damage got nerfed to hell and back, I wondered what the exact point of this character was. After all, she had very "meh" mix up game, her range is incredibly short with the exception of a few moves, and now she has standard damage output.

What is the point? It sucks a lot because she was the first character I went to when Continuum Shift released her as dlc. I was practicing Ragna before that and then when I moved to her I was pretty pleased with her performance.

But at the same time, other characters can deal out around the same damage (if not more) with a bit more complicated combos from a safe distance.

She is straight forward. Got it. But it still doesn't quite balance out. People were frustrated about her power output and I want to say that they simply didn't know how to keep her pinned or keep their distance. I have to agree with some others that her meterless damage output needs to a serious boost.

If not, then at the very least seriously buff the damage to her DDs. I remember baitin people with the BBS cause of the instant attack time and PF delayed I-frames.

Personally (and I apologize to all cause I know I'm kind of just venting here), I think the biggest hit of all were the hitstun times from her drives and loss of certain BnB combos.  CC6BC Most notably. Wall bounces gone etc. Thank the gods that she can still corner carry pretty well.
