Oh, i think 4D is head attribute invuln. 2D is just...bad. 4D exists i guess, but thats a lot easier to call out than old 2D. I don't know, i feel like that aspect of her isnt something you have to respect nearly as much anymore.

Oh its definitrly not as good as Extend, but its still there. 2D is something that could end up being worthless for the sake of escaping pressure, but if it still has frame 1 F invuln, then we would still have a way out, we would just have to cover our asses after ending up whiffing drive a couple of character lengths away from our opponent. Maybe OB or CS, or maybe its a dumb thing to do, wont know until we try.

As far as 4D, it looks like it has the same invuln as CS2 but with added projectile invuln, which could potentially lead to silliness, what if we could straight up 4D Bangs tk D nails? Maybe, maybe not.

Im not saying her reversals are gonna be godlike, or even good at all, but I do see some potential. And hey, if her reversals do end up being trash, her pressure and damage look better than ever (imo) so I think it's a fair trade.

this, essentially. with 4d not having a "partner" move to counter most of what would blow it up, it kind of changes it from guessing game to "watch out for 4d" which is a lot more detrimental than just losing "1 move" on paper.

Yeah I agree with you there, without the "mindgame" of "should I anti-air or should I low?" her reversal options will pretty much rely more on reads than dumb luck like in the past, though 4D is not without it's uses as a solid tool. In a few match vids I saw it beat Ragna's overhead and Bang's overhead, meaning we still have a reason to throw it out very rarely. This time instead of "Should I bait 4D or should I bait 2D?" it's gonna be more like "Should I bait 4D or should I go ahead with my mixup?", which is still enough to make people play differently than how they would against a character with no reversal option.

This of course doesn't apply to characters who may be able to beat 4D with the same thing they use as a mixup, like Valk's Wolf mixup, which will now beat 4D for free since it loses to air attacks again.

lol, don't worry, I doubt I'll be able to forget about Izayoi.

I'm calling it now, SKD takes NEC 2013 with Izayoi.

I'm still interested in where 5D and 6D are gonna fit in all this reversal talk. I'm curious in her OD popping properties, specifically with it's said increased drive properties. I'm kind of picturing a CvS2 N-Groove-like use.

Also, Tsubaki's gonna win again by the end of everything.

didnt both of those get nerfed to hell way before EX?

I actually thought only one of them did? Probably wrong though.

6D wasn't really used for anything except for a really gimmicky mix-up. 5D was notorious in CS1, and then heavily toned down afterwards, since it was pretty much an answer to most things.

To me, it seems like 6D is faster than ever, so it might be useful. If anything, I believe it's something that might be okay to delve into a bit more, especially their properties after OD.

6D is a really silly move as far as invuln. I would never rely on it, but every time I've used it, it worked.

EX: vs Mu.

"ok time to be a scrub, Imma run in deep and 6D"

*goes through Mu 5C*

:vvv

Well i would have to say the same. I never intentionally use it for its invuln frames. But whenever i did used it by accident (usually cuz someone tried to cross me up when i used 4D that turned into a 6D) it worked every time for me pretty much and it makes me open my eyes here and there like "did that really just go through that move.....wow.."

I'll chalk that up to Noel being Noel doing Noel things. I wouldn't mind if they paid more attention to that move.

Also, might need to check the video thread for any of the clips that have been removed due to Jourdal's account going down.

Yeah, it's kinda funny when the answer to some things is "It's Noel being Noel". And also, wasn't there some guy who would like side-upload both pktazn and Jourdal's stuff on his channel as like a sort of fanmade backup? Or am I totally insane?

I know there have been other people uploading videos aside from those two, possibly because the hype for CP was strong enough to make others more active in seeking info/videos/news. Jourdal has another account up already which he's been gradually rebuilding with content.

All of the videos that have been removed have been fixed and reuploaded.

Also R-2 is pretty hype.

Thinking out loud here...

Air grab had its untech time nerfed, wont combo into 2B at certain heights. J.D while falling will probably do the trick.

6B to 5k might be character specific. In the combo video it was done on Jin and Bang, who both have an interesting curve to thier hitbox when hit with d.4D which makes it possible for d.6C to hit thier toes just in time. I could be wrong, but why else would ALL Noels be wasting meter for BT > Rapid > MF when that combo only leads to about 4.8 k.

Posted

The 6B meterless combos being character specific makes sense. If we are lucky we might be able to catch characters like Ragna and Azreal with it too. It's just weird that nobody uses it, even in their matches with Jin and Bang.

Posted

Wouldn't be surprised, double d.6c combos were actually character specific to Jin (not sure about Bang) in Calamity Trigger also.

@bubbles No, I dont have any proof, but the odds of that working are slim to none.

Does this combo work at all on standing or crouching opponents? Or on CH?

2a>6c(1)>6b>5d>......214a?

2b>6c(1)>6b>5d>......214a?

Well technically no it doesnt. Even if you tried 2a>6c(1)>6b on normal and CH on both standing and crouching opponents they dont work on EX and since CP has reduced hitstun in general i highly doubt it would do it on there either.

Also on the 6B meterless combo, i honestly dont know if its character specific but it does sound plausable on paper given that you would figure more noels would use it more often unless some of them simply just dont know how to do it in the first place. However its unlikey since it is japan....i guess.

On a side note, Im curious about corner 6C(2) > 6B > 22B part of some combos. Usually noel wouldnt be able to do 6C(2) > 6B close in the corner she would have to be far from it to be able to follow up on the 6C(2) with a 6B. I wonder if 6C(2)'s recovery frames is faster now because of this thats allowing her to connect the 6B... or if the wallbound from 6C(2) lasts longer than usual.
