RifleAvenger Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 The true ending to Blazblue will be the cast teaming up to take down their creator, artist, and GOD, Mori. For all the awful things he's done to them/drawn them in.
Volt Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 I just want to remind everyone that there are 2 episodes out and 0% of any kind of Litchi or Makoto fanservice, not even in the opening. I'm impressed, but that doesn't change the fact that the anime is below average, despite the fact that the second episode was better than the first especially because of that Hakumen throwing Ragna across the wall.
SolxBaiken Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 I just want to remind everyone that there are 2 episodes out and 0% of any kind of Litchi or Makoto fanservice Sorry, we wasted all our ecchi budget on the henshin effects [wait till you see Bang!!] Also that's not that surprising seeing how they've yet to show up at all in Litchi's case and as a mere single shot cameo in Makoto's case. But seeing how Noel's moe-ness was pretty hammed up I doubt they'll miss the opportunities when they arise. Ya know...unless budget cuts...
InWithTheAshes Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 > Budget cuts. > Already making people faceless when not close up. ... When's tuning fork Yukianesa?
kosmos badgirl Posted October 18, 2013 Posted October 18, 2013 I just want to remind everyone that there are 2 episodes out and 0% of any kind of Litchi or Makoto fanservice, Don't worry, they will show the rest of the cast in the CS part of the story.
Zazz Posted October 18, 2013 Posted October 18, 2013 Sorry, we wasted all our ecchi budget on the henshin effects [wait till you see Bang!!] With Mu, wouldn't it be qualify as both? Also, a certain anime this season involving sailor uniform battle suits (you know the one i mean) makes me realize that Mori was way ahead of the curve with Mu's outfit. And that Noel needs to be way WAY WAAAAAY more hot blooded.
Master Of Chaos Posted October 18, 2013 Posted October 18, 2013 Ohhhh I can't wait to see how Mori blows all the budget with Mu's debut. It will be the highlight of the anime.

I'd say they (along with a good number of the cast) aren't essential to the main storyline but Mori feels like including the entire cast so they'll probably show up. Why the hell are people so opposed to glorious oppai? If the anime sucks to begin with, a couple of nice racks certainly won't hurt it's chances. Edited October 18, 2013 by Yazumatto

Because not everyone is so hopelessly attracted to breasts that any sort of facsimile excites and amuses them?
RifleAvenger Posted October 18, 2013 Posted October 18, 2013 Because not everyone is so hopelessly attracted to breasts that any sort of facsimile excites and amuses them? This. Hell, Makoto, Litchi, Bullet sized busts actually have the opposite effect on me. It's exaggerated to the point that I cannot be attracted to it.
Yazumatto Posted October 18, 2013 Posted October 18, 2013 (edited) So what you're saying is Litchi and Makoto shouldn't be in the anime because they offend people, as if the anime was already award-winning material in the first place. Okay. Btw, because internet sarcasm is hard to detect, I'm like 10% serious about my first comment. Just letting you know before people start writing needless paragraphs no one will read. Chaoschao222 Posted October 18, 2013 Posted October 18, 2013 People like tits, biology suggests this. People do not need to see tits, common sense suggests this. This conversation doesn't need to get stupider, I suggest this.
Shadow Draygon Posted October 18, 2013 Posted October 18, 2013 Fan service is fine but it plays no role in making an anime good or not.

Yazumatto Posted October 18, 2013 Posted October 18, 2013 She offends me. I mean, what kind of self-respecting scientist has pink hair?
BlackYakuzu94 Posted October 18, 2013 Author Posted October 18, 2013 She's a catgirl, that kinda speaks for itself.
BlackYakuzu94 Posted October 18, 2013 Author Posted October 18, 2013 Watch her get all of that shit now that she's playable.
Ehecatl Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 (edited) Kokonoe lacks plot and back story. In Alter Memory, everyone lacks plot and backstory. It's a huge Achilles heel and an irredeemable one in my eyes. I love Blazblue as a game series, but this anime is turning into a really crappy production. I knew there was gonna be trouble when they announced they were going to tell the whole story in 12 episodes... That's not just Calamity Trigger, that's the whole thing up til this point. It's just... not possible. It's barely possible to tell Calamity Trigger, the story's extended prologue, in 12 episodes. And as expected, the pacing is too damn fast. If I hadn't played the games already, I wouldn't begin to care for any of the characters in Alter Memory or their troubles or what they're going through. We haven't spent enough time with any of them to care. Hell, has Rachel even been called by name yet? The only dialog she has is with Ragna and he just calls her "rabbit" like usual. Forget everything you know about Calamity Trigger if you can and try to watch this. You won't have the slightest idea what's going on or why. How could anyone make a connection with the protagonist or anyone else when we know next to nothing about any of them? The big dramatic scenes with Noel saving Ragna or Ragna and Jin squaring off lose their appeal when you don't even know why they're doing what they're doing or who they are. How can you care about a character and their struggle when you don't know them? Drama has no impact with paper cut-outs. So Noel shows up and saves Ragna. Who cares? Why should I care about an annoying girl or a guy with a bad attitude and a hidden power? Do I know about her fear of living? Her addiction to relying on Bolverk to just make it through the day? About her connection with those friends of which we see all of .5 seconds of in a single flash during her near-death experience in this anime? Why should I care for Ragna? All I've seen the guy from the anime is a fucked up past and an asshole personality. Do we ever get to see those glimmers of humanity that makes him endearing and not such a bad guy after all? Who the hell is "rabbit" and why is the camera going back to her sipping tea and talking about stuff I can't understand? You see-- in the games, this is all explained and thus you can relate and care about the characters. Here? I don't know anything about them to care about whether they die or not. The developers tried to go in a million directions at once to tell this story and instead told nothing at all. The fights look terrible. I mean terrible. And that's surprising considering this is a fighting game series. Same with the backgrounds. They're so stale. It just blows me away considering how beautiful and praised the fights and background of Blazblue are in the games. Yet the setting couldn't seem more void and lifeless. The fight scenes couldn't look more lazy if you tried. I just can't consider this a true anime. If they were really trying to make something that'd play on television, they'd spend a lot more resources and time on the story so that the audience could get it. The anime'd be longer, be slower paced, and each of these characters would be fleshed out and get their opportunity to shine, to show all their redeeming traits, lovable quirks, and flaws. We could even get some of the more subtle themes being played with with these character, get to see glimmers of who they are or who they could be. Instead, they pretty much made a montage of cut scenes with beautiful Blazblue music and called it an anime to attract their already existing fans. Because they know that no one would ever be drawn to the series by this anime alone. But even as a veteran Blazblue fanatic, I'm disappointed with the sloppy production, the lack of good story-telling, the blank boring settings, the rushed empty dialog that always goes no where, and the lack of character introspection. My fanboyish just isn't enough to make me enjoy this. It just seems like a HUGE waste of potential. What could have been a longer, episodic series that would continue for multiple seasons got crammed into what looks like a miserable, low-budget splurge of random scenes with no connection between them and no depth. I mean, I don't know if I can blame Arc. I imagine an involved anime would take a lot of money they may not be able to afford. Perhaps this was the best they could do with the budget they had. But it's just so bad. Edited October 19, 2013 by Ehecatl
Ehecatl Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 (edited) That is what we call a retcon. How did he survive the other loops then. No, that is what we call PAYING ATTENTION. Jesus are we still talking about this years later? Ragna doesn't survive because of her bite. He survives because of the AZURE GRIMOIRE. This has been said so many times. It was never ever ever stated in the story's plot that he survived the time loops because of her bite. People just assumed that. They were wrong. They were always wrong. And thus, so are you. For there to be a retcon, the story itself would have had to say "this is how Ragna survived" and then subvert that at a later date stating "No, THIS is how he survived.", forgetting or ignoring what was stated before. But it was never that way... Please, for the love of god people. We are years past this debate. It was concluded long ago. Stop claiming your head-canon as real canon.
