Star-Demon Posted August 15, 2013 Posted August 15, 2013 How about: 100% meter cancel - next attack unblockable. ANIME - Our games are silly ON PURPOSE.
xAKUM3TSUx Posted August 15, 2013 Posted August 15, 2013 I guess using Roman Cancels and False Roman Cancels aren't big deals to me at all. For the record I barely cancel anything and just set up my own stuff. I view it as a tool that opens a variety of options for the player that wants to delve into using them. I don't really see the need to use RCs/FRCs in my strategy(s) and I don't see why I would have to use them unless I feel I've become stale (although I do know how to FRC REALLY well). This said, I don't see the importance in them at all...more of a preference IMO but hey. that's just me. GG Xrd may or may not change my view on this.
BladeOfJustice7 Posted August 15, 2013 Posted August 15, 2013 How about: 100% meter cancel - next attack unblockable. ANIME - Our games are silly ON PURPOSE. Then what about marvel? I think if anything they'll put in FRC's, or BRC's if that's what they'll be called, but with an extended execution window. Because I'm certain we won't see FB's back in this game.
AMB Bakery Posted August 15, 2013 Posted August 15, 2013 (edited) I have a feeling that those who don't make good use of RC's/FRC's probably don't play GG much.... either that or they play Faust (door FRC, 236S~H FRC, and scalpel pull FRC are all useful but the best way to spend that meter is either FB pogo or NA-NA-NANI GA DERU KANA, imoimoimo) In AC+, off the top of my head, I can think of a few characters that use RC's even just for combos: Sol for Bandit Revolver into SW loops, Testament for Bandlands loops, Slayer for 2D > RC > 5H, Anji for comboing off TK Shin And after that there's more that I can think of whose FRC's range from useful to staple in combos and pressure: Dizzy Ice Spike, ABA Rekkas, Axl Resengeki, Venom Stinger Aim, Potemkin Buster, I-no Chemical Love, Baiken j.D, Johnny Killer Joker, Eddie Drills, Order-Sol Action Charge, Ky Stun Edge (all versions), Slayer 6P, Sol Gunflame Again, this is all off the top of my head and for characters I know even the slightest bit about. Point is, RC's and FRC's are pretty useful (and in the case of a few of the FRC's listed above, are pretty vital to the character's gameplan and overall success), even discounting the most obvious use: Reversal/DP > RC. I think if anything they'll put in FRC's, or BRC's if that's what they'll be called, but with an extended execution window. Because I'm certain we won't see FB's back in this game. I'm not sure if ASW is going to make this mistake again, but..... Remember when CT had a 4-part divided meter but Jin was the only one who had 25-meter moves? Yeah....... I dunno. Could happen, and the whole world will be trolled. Edited August 15, 2013 by AMB Bakery
SynikaL Posted August 15, 2013 Posted August 15, 2013 You can type all you want about your preference for not using FRCs w/o being judged as long as you don't think for a second that you're playing your character or Guilty Gear at large, optimally.
Blade Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 Should start calling it Rainbow Cancel. I'm sticking with Henaki's idea: GRCs (Gold Roman Cancels)
Vashimus Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 Should start calling it Rainbow Cancel. Like a Baroque cancel?
the_d3v Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 Then what about marvel? I think if anything they'll put in FRC's, or BRC's if that's what they'll be called, but with an extended execution window. Because I'm certain we won't see FB's back in this game. I think it'll be the opposite. We'll see FBs (probably slightly nerfed), but we wont see FRCs since Ishiwatari it seems didn't like how they, as a 25% option were more used than regular, 50% tension RCs.
Jocelot Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 I wonder if all this slow-mo business on the RC's will make baiting burst easier.
oldkiller Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 GGX also has indicator showing 25% tension (blue-green-red) and that version has no 25% tension command IIRC. So we can't be sure if Xrd will have FRCs or FB. About FRC, as long as I can cancel a whiff or projectile, I don't really care how much it would cost me. Players will use tension more wisely (no more Johnny double FRC divine blade though). But the fact that you can cancel any given time now might be a disadvantage for the defender. Ky FRC 236K is just too predictable that some ppl go for the RC after the 2nd hit. But then again, it cost 50% tension, pretty expensive eh?
Rhiya Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 True, the meter divisions are probably necessary even without 25% moves, because it'd be hell to tell what your meter is at without them. There's no numerical indicator.
TITANIUM BEAST!!! Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 GGX also has indicator showing 25% tension (blue-green-red) and that version has no 25% tension command IIRC. GGX had no green indicator for Tension. It was blue-red-gold, red for 50% and gold for 100%.
LeonD Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 (edited) Luv the way all the chars returning to their Reload version! "OPPAN RELOAD STYLE!" Anyhow... how does Burst works? Are there any changes? EDIT: Could someone give me an image of Ky's Sacred Edge with Grinder activated? Edited August 16, 2013 by LeonD
shinr Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 An Idea for EX-mode Ky: Ride the Lighting (the normal one, not the old EX tyrant rave-like one) + Grinder Seal = An Overdrive that travels from one corner to another in 1 frame.

Kogarasumaru Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 Whats everyones thoughts on the chances that A.B.A could be in the game?? would really like to see her make a return in this game
HeatEXTEND Posted August 18, 2013 Posted August 18, 2013 Too many mechanics ! Also, better forget about O-Sol, Zappa and Robo-Ki :p
Vashimus Posted August 18, 2013 Posted August 18, 2013 Call me crazy, but I think everyone from AC+R will be in the game, except maybe Order Sol. ArcSys doesn't seem the type to remove characters from previous games.
yunalove Posted August 18, 2013 Posted August 18, 2013 Too many mechanics ! Also, better forget about O-Sol, Zappa and Robo-Ki :p What ? dude! Why ? dude o__O ..If it's about Order Sol, I can fully understand. But we're talking about Zappa, Z-A-P-P-A. His story got nothing to do with the others and I'm gonna curse u all if I dont see his comeback ...
LeonD Posted August 18, 2013 Posted August 18, 2013 Too many mechanics ! Also, better forget about O-Sol, Zappa and Robo-Ki :p OrderSol, Kliff and Justice may return in Xrd as DLC... that's for sure LOL! And why would they remove Zappa???
Delrian Posted August 18, 2013 Posted August 18, 2013 Based on the "Too many mechanics!" statement, I'd say he was joking.
GaijinMo Posted August 18, 2013 Posted August 18, 2013 Call me crazy, but I think everyone from AC+R will be in the game, except maybe Order Sol. ArcSys doesn't seem the type to remove characters from previous games. I disagree with that logic. Arc doesn't seem like the type to remove characters because they reused GGX sprites all the way into 2012. Of course they weren't going to give anyone the boot when the same assets could be recycled and periodically enhanced. Xrd isn't really in that situation. It'll be sad to see the roster get cut down since the design quality for all characters has been consistently high, but I'm expecting a few to get the axe. Just hoping it ain't Slayer.
