I'm okay with it looking a little 3rd Strike. I was more amused by how that Slayer just spammed RCs for everything at the end.

To me, BS feels more like Soul Calibur guard impact than 3S parry

I'm not liking the blitz shield too much. I thought it would be better than what my first impressions was. When someone has success with a blitz shield, the other player seems to always want to retaliate with another blitz shield. It's like when two scrubs fight each other. When one guy wake up reversal the other seems get a sudden urge to do it back at them. I see it all the time. Especially in Street Fighter 4. I haven't seen anyone bait a blitz shield retaliation. Which is kinda depressing. I hope this gets better in the future with more awareness.

then you haven't seen enough footage of the game, because plenty of people blow it up

You can also just... do a super after your BS connected.

Yeah, I've also seen players with command grabs opting for a command grab to avoid rejection rejection.

Blitz Shield actually turned out better than I thought it would. I don't see it used that often, thanks to how easy it is to blow it up, but I think it can create some interesting mind games when it is implemented.

Uh, plus Ramlethal's defense sucks and I don't want to be blocking forever...

LOL that was what i am planing to do when i play the game.

unless my opponent doesn't have 25%+ tension of course.

Since this is a speculation thread. What do you guys think Daisuke would give to cast members when they enter Xrd, what would make them both stronger and compliment their play styles?

Like Sol having a useful DI for fraudulent comeback purposes, and Kudakero as a means of getting in. Ky with his new 3hs(?), Split Ciel, and Durancal Call. Axl with his new full screen stance and (I think) a more improved dp. Venom and his new super Bishop Runout and his new jd.

What do you guys think characters like Johnny, Jam, Baiken, Order Sol, hell even Overture characters like Sin and Izuna would get once when make their debut in the 2.5 world? Everyone loses their FB's but some characters like Chipp's Kabuki, correct me if I'm wrong, work a lot like his FB from what i see.

Johnny gets nerfs because YRC Baccus Sigh and YRC Coin would be amazing! But really, I don't know what Daisuke would want to give to Johnny if he has those.

You give him the Faust treatment and  make f.S hit crouchers.

As for Jam, she'll get a gun.

I can imagine Johnny getting YRC coins, I don't know Baccus Sigh though.

Well really what matchups are x character having a hard time with, and what do you think would help them in their design to overcome these character design flaws. Sol had a hard time getting in and staying in-Kudakero, Ky had a hard time against characters who zone better than him-Durandal Call.

I never really played X-XX, but from what I understood, Johnny has always been nerfed in every iteration of GG. I doubt this'll be the case, he DID get buffed in ACR from what I understand. So what is he lacking, what is Jam lacking, Anji lacks pokes for instance and has a hard time dealing with characters that have great screen control; Axl and Ky among others.

Anji, if his butterfly is like #R, would be silly with YRC. Since it hits overhead, you could either Butterfly YRC, or just Butterfly and YRC right before it gets to the overhead hit to run in and be dumb. It'll be very interesting to see some characters in Xrd. Very exciting.

It doesn't even transform on hit in #Reload though. That said, I think they'll pull an I-No with Anji and make him closer to Slash, #Reload Anji just seems like an overall incomplete character....

As said, Anji YRC butterfly would be the tits. I hope the butterfly isn't completely like #R, though. I never liked how it only blossomed on hit. I could see it hitting mid like it does in AC/+R.

'side that, I think Anji would be awesome in Xrd, even before the envitable new moves they'll give him.

Like I think you could do HS Fuujin and depending if the opponent jumps back or something you could YRC on reaction and go to 623HS, kinda like Hammerfall YRC. You could do YRC P stomp to put Anji in the air, then sweep, or Fuujin>S followup> RC, air combo or 623HS.

As for new moves... ehh I dunno. unfortunately they'll definitely get rid of 3P/3K/3S which I'll be sad about, especially 3P. They'll probably also get rid of his K guardpoint, but they'll most likely hand out some new ones.

I also know it's unlikely, but I think it would be cool if they gave Anji a command grab. I don't have real in depth reasoning for that, just uhh... yeah, it would be cool, lol.

From #R onwards, I'd argue that Johnny has gotten stronger with each iteration. The reason he was low tier in AC was because of the system direction not benefiting that type of character; he was an honest character in a game that, at times, hinged on being tactically bankrupt.

If you go and look at the changes he from Slash to AC, the only nerfs were Jackhound becoming a Force break (which wasn't really a nerf since that became a requirement and he got the highest tension pulse in the game to make up for it, but I digress), Divine Blade scoring knockdown instead of bouncing (which they fixed in +R with the new CH effect), and the worthless fall arc on Level 2 High Mist Finer. Past that, he really got nothing but buffed: new ways to score knockdown, 3H (a truly godly meaty), mist cancel on all but two normals, new gatlings, Killer Joker, the list goes on.

+R doesn't have nearly as many  moments as AC did, and they continued the trend of giving Johnny more and better options. They even gave him a Level 2 High reminiscent of the one he had in Slash to give him a reliable corner knockdown confirm from midscreen.

I can envision Xrd Johnny as being pretty similar to Slash Johnny. They'll probably give him the old bounce effect on Mist Finers, with Jackhound serving its purpose as a meterless way to extend MF combos. I doubt he'll have the up coin at first, but perhaps later on they'll give him some of the moves from AC onwards.

I don't see any issues with the system currently that would cripple Johnny, so he's a pretty safe bet for the next game.

Johnny was quite playable in #r. I doubt they will keep jack hound, but with the new RC system he won't really need it. Any hit -> RC -> Johnny damage? Yeah.

I just randomly thought, could a sol punish a dp with say, Gunflame (yrc) h, gf hits, BB ect? Giving him great damage for 25%?
