Starlight777 Posted August 3, 2013 Posted August 3, 2013 I like the large license plate sitting on her hat.
TheRealBobMan Posted August 3, 2013 Posted August 3, 2013 Just give Potemkin a new move called Slashback, since he was the only character to use it. I use it. Also, no mention of Instant Block? That's pretty important.
Moy_X7 Posted August 3, 2013 Posted August 3, 2013 I like the large license plate sitting on her hat. Can't be any worse than Sol beating you with a gigantic cigarette lighter.
Starlight777 Posted August 3, 2013 Posted August 3, 2013 Can't be any worse than Sol beating you with a gigantic cigarette lighter. No it's just "funny awesome" like the license plate. "Did anyone catch the license on that Millia player who bodied me?"
Jocelot Posted August 3, 2013 Posted August 3, 2013 I use it. Also, no mention of Instant Block? That's pretty important. Ehh was kidding, Slashback had it's uses. But yeah, I admit I'm surprised instant block isn't coming back. I had a feeling a lot of the gameplay elements from the 'newer' GG's like Throw teching, Slashbacks, and Forcebreaks wouldn't be back, I for sure thought IBing and FRC's would've.
Essay Posted August 3, 2013 Posted August 3, 2013 Yay, still sounds like tap-to-air-tech, which shows they're committed to keeping the combo'd player active. It wouldn't surprise me if the R.I.S.C. meter gets better pay-off from instant-blocking, to give the blocking player incentive to be even more active too.
TeeJay Posted August 3, 2013 Posted August 3, 2013 I guess for character wishes, I hope the loketest hast one new character and maybe one character from Overtune (maybe Sin) And I hope Robo-Ky is somewhere in the final game Please. I also play A.B.A. so it would kinda suck to not have them.
Vulcan422 Posted August 3, 2013 Posted August 3, 2013 Personally, at least for now, I'm glad that there's no Force Breaks or Slashbacks. EX moves and extremely strict Parries that nobody ever uses just doesn't seem to fit Guilty Gear IMO.
Moy_X7 Posted August 3, 2013 Posted August 3, 2013 No it's just "funny awesome" like the license plate. "Did anyone catch the license on that Millia player who bodied me?" I really can't see why they decided to ax IBs and Force Breaks. I could understand why they axed FRCs and Slash Back (too hard for newbs/lazy people like me) but the former two?
Jocelot Posted August 3, 2013 Posted August 3, 2013 Forecbreaks n Slashbacks definitely fall into the "don't really care if they come back or not" category for me.
Vistaaa Posted August 3, 2013 Posted August 3, 2013 my head hurts from deciding to read this thread never coming back swag
Amadeus46Art Posted August 3, 2013 Posted August 3, 2013 Where'd you see IBs are removed? That would be very strange if they weren't in it. Though GG did always have a different IB system from BB and Persona, one where the level of the attack determined the amount of blockstun removed, so I can see them simplifying it.
Blade Posted August 3, 2013 Posted August 3, 2013 Things to think about: 1. Just because the last game Daisuke worked on was #Reload doesn't mean he's basing this game on #Reload. 2. We don't even know how much of a window Projectile RCs will have for slowing down time. What if Ky does his RC from an Aerial Stun Edge from long range? What if Sol can IAD from his Gunflame RC? What if Millia's Tandem Top move can RC into Rolls and Rolls and Rolls and Rolls before someone gets out of blockstun? We don't know we don't know. And because we don't know we should stop worrying. 3. Leopaldon is in Antarctica I doubt he'd show up outside of a stage cameo. 4. No one is even talking about what might happen should Dust Attacks be dash cancellable on block...and what that could mean for mixups and IADs.
Moy_X7 Posted August 3, 2013 Posted August 3, 2013 @ Amadeous - Probably not removed but I don't see it in the "Game systems translation for the first location test" list in the news thread.
SolxBaiken Posted August 3, 2013 Posted August 3, 2013 3. Leopaldon is in Antarctica I doubt he'd show up outside of a stage cameo. F U Blade! My hopes can't be crushed! ' ^' also that doesn't mean anything, you act as if he's permanently bound there or the game can't come to him ' w' I just really liked how he played and would totally entertain the idea of him being a standard cast member Also trying not to think to hard on the systems till we get some clarity from impressions or secret vids from the moon = 3=
Rhiya Posted August 3, 2013 Posted August 3, 2013 Out of curiosity, are FRCs normally mentioned in official system explanations of GG?
SolxBaiken Posted August 3, 2013 Posted August 3, 2013 (edited) Nope, just RCs and "Yellow" RCs. Oh yes, in all past games FRCs have been a detailed feature. EDIT: lol just notice the buttons are color codded to their default layout on a Playstation controller Edited August 3, 2013 by SolxBaiken
Tokkan Posted August 3, 2013 Posted August 3, 2013 Out of curiosity, are FRCs normally mentioned in official system explanations of GG? They are in the AC+R system explanation. http://www.guiltygearx.com/ggxxacpr/system/#sys04
Blade Posted August 3, 2013 Posted August 3, 2013 If you want to try and stuff a giant Dog-man on a plane or a boat out to A-Country, SxB, be my guest.
Dream Maker Posted August 3, 2013 Posted August 3, 2013 This is probably the most important info of all on the system page : 「本ページの掲載内容は第一回ロケーションテストのものです。今後、変更になる場合があります。」 "The info on this page is related to the first location test. It may change later." So no need to freak out about the disappearance of the FRCs or other things and how catastrophic it could be on the game system. It seems that with that location test they're still experimenting on the new system and want to have feedback from their fans, which can only be a good thing for the end product.
SolxBaiken Posted August 3, 2013 Posted August 3, 2013 If you want to try and stuff a giant Dog-man on a plane or a boat out to A-Country, SxB, be my guest. Leopaldon outfitted himself with a jetpack! 3x Jumps and 2x Air dashes confirmed
Orrax Posted August 3, 2013 Posted August 3, 2013 They are in the AC+R system explanation. http://www.guiltygearx.com/ggxxacpr/system/#sys04 Interestingly, I didn't notice instant blocking mentioned in that. Maybe that's a good sign for it being in Xrd? Also just realized that I didn't notice stagger mentioned in the Xrd system.
Rhapsody Posted August 3, 2013 Posted August 3, 2013 I will never understand your obsession with Leopaldon lol Hoping to see some (decent) footage of the new FRCs and such at the loketest. The idea of slowing down time for every (?) RC just sounds so odd to me that I really need to see it in action. I'm not complaining about it, but it sounds interesting to see it being pulled off.
the_d3v Posted August 3, 2013 Posted August 3, 2013 @Suzaku you may have already noticed, but for now, we're using your translations for the character details on SRK.
Agni Posted August 3, 2013 Posted August 3, 2013 So I might as well ask what Force Breaks are/were (since some people are lamenting their supposed loss)? I checked the Wiki and I don't see them in any of the system explanation pages. Never mind they appear to be EX Special Moves. Seems kind of odd to take them out. Also, my perusing of the wiki has shown me that GG has a fucking shitload of mechanics. This shit is like the Iracing of FGs.
