FallenWhite Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 Play-Asia has the game's release date as July. However, I'm sure it will be region locked as Play-Asia also lists the game under NTSC-J protection. Btw, P4U JP was in July, and the US release was 2 weeks later in early August. Play-Asia could have inaccurate/wrong info though. Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk Oh, FOR EFFs...I so, SO hope that's just a placeholder assumption, because, if they didn't learn from the last time, and how royally that fucked over the EU release. HATE!

HATE! I'm willing to bet we will be getting it region locked if only because the first game was like that. Plus Play-Asia has a tendency to call things right (like how they claimed March 25th was the BBCP release date and it was later proven true). Sadly this likely means EU gets to wait again for its own version unless either Zen United get right on the ball from the get go or ATLUS/ASW publish it themselves in the region. Though some delays are inevitable due to the EU region needing several language translations and ATLUS have been bought by SEGA but still, 9 months should not be your "best attempt". Then again, maybe SEGA can get involved in the publishing to make it easier. EU players still like SEGA right? Or at least, not outright hate their guts?

Well NISA did bail us out for Persona 4 Golden, but SEGA...errr, if the reactions to the buy out was anything to go by =w=; GO NISA!
Torri- Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 Does anyone know what the difference is in training mode between setting a character to boss mode instead of regular is? Does it come down to AI level or does it set them to a score attack style? (Although if it's anything like p4 vanilla, character ability settings would be separate)
FluxWaveZ Posted January 17, 2014 Posted January 17, 2014 Curious to see if Shadow character usage will increase any after their ver. 1.02 buff.
RurouniLoneWolf Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 I'll have to wait and see some footage with the buff but I think it'll get a few more people playing Shadow characters but not too much more. On an unrelated note, this week's footage was pretty good. Looks like Okusan and Die-Chan are putting in those hours for Persona Sho. The way Domi uses Shadow Berserk with S. Akihiko is a bit out of the ordinary but interesting. Can't say for sure but it feels like he likes to use the activation to scope out what's going on.
bayouhorns Posted January 20, 2014 Posted January 20, 2014 As a Kuma player. I am loving this. Being able to drop out of the air into an AOA is so cool. Also, I'm starting to get the hang of double item drops into triple drop super. Things get hectic fast. I haven't been on DL for a while. Anyone here actually playing the game? If you're in the Mikawa area in Aichi, there's a competition on January 26th. Drop into M's in Kariya (on route 155, near the Meiho bookstore).
Poultrygeist Posted January 20, 2014 Posted January 20, 2014 I gotta say I'm loving the rise in popularity that Persona Sho has gotten. He's really satisfying to watch, especially when players like DIE-Chan are capitalizing on these nice reads and confirming into frightening damage from a screen away. This character looks like a lot of fun to me.
Monokeros Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 So I want to confirm this, Shadow Labrys isn't actually considered the Shadow version of Labrys like the rest of the cast so she doesn't get meter carry-over?
Elochai Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 Shadow Labrys (with Asterius) is her own, separate character, just like in the original P4U. Therefore, she doesn't get the meter carry over or shadow rampage. However, there is also a Shadow Labrys (with Ariadanae) that does have the meter carry over/shadow rampage.
currentlemon Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 I want to ask some questions about Elizabeth. 1. Did she get stronger or weaker in this game? 2. If she got stronger ( or weaker ), how did she fare with the rest of the cast? Did any match-ups change for better or worse? 3. Are there any notable players using her? (PSR 700 and above) I only saw one Elizabeth player with 700 psr but that was a while ago. I don't see any Elizabeth players often. I did hear she got buffed, but I only know very little changes. I don't main her either, I just want to know what happened to her.
Elochai Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 I want to ask some questions about Elizabeth. 1. Did she get stronger or weaker in this game? IMO, she still seems kinda weak. Without question though, she's much better once awakened. All of her specials get considerably stronger. 2. If she got stronger ( or weaker ), how did she fare with the rest of the cast? Did any match-ups change for better or worse? Not enough footage to really say I think, but I wouldn't be surprised if she was still bottom barrel (seems likely). 3. Are there any notable players using her? (PSR 700 and above) Try this link: http://sp.p4u2.tv/ranking_view.php?mode=exe&type=psr_rank&character=el&pref=0 It's the arcade leaderboard for Liz. If you want videos though, try Damosu/Ta. I only saw one Elizabeth player with 700 psr but that was a while ago. I don't see any Elizabeth players often. I did hear she got buffed, but I only know very little changes. I don't main her either, I just want to know what happened to her. See: bolded.
currentlemon Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 I see, so she is still considered weak. Although she got buffed in the awakening department, she still has problems and a lot of players ( not just Elizabeth players ) would agree. After seeing Damosu, her awakening buffs are amazing, but pre-awakened state is still weak. Not to mention her health is still too low. ( 8000 I believe ). Now assuming match-up wise, I would guess after Damosu fighting three Kanji players, Elizabeth still has a large gap between her and Kanji is there. I wouldn't be surprised if the match-up gets even worse for Kanji. As for the other characters, it's still too early. I know Mitsuru was nerfed but let's be honest here, she is still good. There is not a lot of information I know about the other characters, so we just have to wait and see. Still, it would be nice if Arksys gave her some buff. Maybe say, go into awakening sooner than the rest of the cast?
Stellarcircle5 Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 (edited) So I've been watching videos of Sho (Tsukiyomi), and I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on what kind of character he's supposed to be. I dig his teleport air combos, but my main concern is his mixup. Could he be considered a mixup character? Or is he more of an all purpose rushdown character? I ask this because I am considering dropping Labrys for Sho once the game hits, that is if he is more effective as a mixup character. Edited January 23, 2014 by Stellarcircle5
RurouniLoneWolf Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 Based on the footage we've seen so far, I wouldn't really say he's anymore of a mixup character than your average character. He's more of an all purpose rushdown character. If you're looking for a mixup character, you'd be better off looking at Aigis or S. Labrys [Asterius]. Though I guess Shabrys would count more as setups.
Effenhoog Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 I'm trying to figure out what the shadow character buff was, but the only translation I have found says this: For shadow type characters, damage during the rate of increase for the SP gauge is done at the same time as the attack. what does that even mean
RurouniLoneWolf Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 Tokkan's translation back on page 184 is easier to understand 1.02 Changes: 4. Shadow Type characters now receive the same amount SP from damage as they do from attacking.
Torri- Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 After watching some new video's of Narukami, this new version of him seems to have a lot of full screen control. If you look at this video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L7RK3e5Dgg8&list=PLZdIFjEqBX4IjcX8HkMeqPcTNpJq4YV8M) around 7:20, you can see him stomping Chie full screen as she activates agneyastra. His new special is looking especially dangerous, although I don't nessisarily see it all that often yet.
Elochai Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 I think S.Narukami players are more inclined to use Issen since they can Shadow Rampage > Issen > combo. 75 meter for a fullscreen punish seems okay I guess? At least he got out of the mix-up situation.
FluxWaveZ Posted January 26, 2014 Posted January 26, 2014 People talking about secret supers... sounds like crap to me.
Master Of Chaos Posted January 26, 2014 Posted January 26, 2014 Why would there be secret supers. Also how is S.Kanji? Good or bad?
Strife Posted January 26, 2014 Posted January 26, 2014 (edited) Why would there be secret supers. Also how is S.Kanji? Good or bad? Idk really, sounds flashy and impractical as hell, but I like it. And S.Kanji looks a lot weaker compared to regular Kanji imo. The new auto-combo is just too good since it grants knockdown + corner carry. Also, having Burst + Awakening makes him a bit more solid than his Shadow. Shadow Fury combos are nice though. Edited January 26, 2014 by Strife
Pssych Posted January 26, 2014 Posted January 26, 2014 People talking about secret supers... sounds like crap to me. But...Narukami already has a secret super that no one knows how to do, but we know it exist lol https://twitter.com/XiePlus/status/427258482799042560

We'd have seen them by now, right? Edit: Oh wait, the video for Narukami's is right there in the link you posted. So yeah... I don't know. Hard to believe everyone else would have one and that they're so obscure that it's taking this long to see them. Edited January 26, 2014 by FluxWaveZ

Narukami, Aigis and Kanji. If Kanji can, I believe everyone can do too. lol As for if they're real or not, Xie saw some of them.
