STenSatsu Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 More like when IAD crossup DP is the only legit mixup option you know his options are fucked lol. Interesting changes, though no Amane news yet has me sad. Wonder if the new super for Koko means they changed Black Hole. I'd also like to see them change her gauges so that they mean something, but we'll see what the final version is like.
D.R.F. Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 Okay yeah the "shitty game" DPs are a contender. I don't play 3s really so I dunno about that but I think I'd still take Ragna DP over any of the other ones mentioned in the games I have played. Either way my point still stands that Ragna DP is really fucking good, especially in a game where some characters barely even have reversals even with meter. When IAD crossup DP is a legit mixup option you know that move's hitbox is fucked. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Tapatalk Its still blockable and only a gimmick, besides 50 meter is a lot haha. Hs VV flys all the way to the sky and its hitbox is enormous, and SVV has a lot more invul, so yea Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Tapatalk
InWithTheAshes Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 Neptune's DP in the first (I think second as well?) Sailor Moon fighter. Fully invuln from startup, decent hitbox, and is completely safe. Whether the game is considered "shit" or not is something to debate.

D.R.F. Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 If we wanted stupid good dps from decent games we cpuld look at ms fortunes dp in sg`s second patch. Shit was super fast and you couldn't punish it, even if they couldn't cancel into super Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Tapatalk
Tigre Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 What DPs can you name that are better than ID? I can't think of any. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using TapatalkHeart and Weiss in AH3, 3s Ken, Ragna and Sol DPs aren't a problem.
Lucalibur Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 When IAD crossup DP is a legit mixup option you know that move's hitbox is fucked. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Tapatalk D ID doesn't have any INV, just saying. It's no different from crossing up with something like Azrael's J.B, only it's stronger at the cost of 50 meter to be of any use.
D.R.F. Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 At the end of the day you can bait ragna's, so its fine Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Tapatalk
Justice7541 Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 Heart and Weiss in AH3, 3s Ken, Ragna and Sol DPs aren't a problem. Now AH3 I've played, Heart and Weiss DPs aren't remotely as good just because of how easy it is to bait DPs in that game. Just for reference what is so good about 3s Ken DP as opposed to any other DP in that game? I play that game extremely casually so I can't comment on it even if it's extremely obvious. D.R.F. Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 I think its his light? ( please correct if wrong) but its fast and recovers nicely for a dp. Also real good invul Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Tapatalk
Nakkiel Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 Now AH3 I've played, Heart and Weiss DPs aren't remotely as good just because of how easy it is to bait DPs in that game. what it's easier in blazblue lmao

Loli Bacon Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 Old Ken's DP, Ivan fucking Ooze, Slash Volcanic Viper (arguably any VV), F-Nanaya DP just a few F-Nanner's DP is easier than ID to deal with. wat.
D.R.F. Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 decent and sg don't belong in the same sentence So rude you are:( Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Tapatalk
Nakkiel Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 F-Nanner's DP is easier than ID to deal with. wat. ID isn't even hard to deal with by any means so is that really saying anything? You can punish ID much harder.
RifleAvenger Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 Personally, for an example from the same game, I find Dragon's Ascent harder to deal with than Inferno Divider.
Tigre Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 Now AH3 I've played, Heart and Weiss DPs aren't remotely as good just because of how easy it is to bait DPs in that game. Okay lol. So you're going to tell me that Heart's DP, a 3F reversal that loses it's hitbox for the startup (have fun stuffing it!), that can be EF Canceled or Homing Canceled to make it safe or convert, that has a follow up that sets up for okizeme and a huge fucking hitbox on the heart that covers above her really fucking well isn't as good as Ragnas DP? Sorry, I don't buy that. I've been playing AH3 for a good while Heart has an absolutely godlike DP, I'd kill for Ragna to get that shit. The only thing that would be more retarded is if it was like it was in AH1 and air DP was an overhead still. I main Heart. that move is absolute bullshit (and I love it). Just for reference what is so good about 3s Ken DP as opposed to any other DP in that game? I play that game extremely casually so I can't comment on it even if it's extremely obvious.Kara-cancel (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G_F92rTawfQ) look at the fucking damage lol, you can convert from cr mk, parry OS bullshit.
D.R.F. Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 Well at least we can agree that ID is not "da bes":D Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Tapatalk
Nakkiel Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 Personally, for an example from the same game, I find Dragon's Ascent harder to deal with than Inferno Divider. Most reversals in BB are equally as effective, if not better without meter than ID.
Loli Bacon Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 ID isn't even hard to deal with by any means so is that really saying anything? You can punish ID much harder. ID catches most characters' backdashes, F-Nanners does not. And nah; doing half health meterless as a punish is better than Blaz punishes. In terms of AH, just 4D that shit on reaction and laugh as they fall uselessly to the ground for hilarious pressure options. AH defensive options are the easiest thing to bait if you know what you're doing, it's kind of silly. (I play Liese, though; doll 5C/5B to punish is kind of silly. Take what I say with a grain of salt.)
D.R.F. Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 I wouldn't say that much, it is solid in its own right. Damn better than bullets or something haha Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Tapatalk
RifleAvenger Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 Most reversals in BB are equally as effective. It's probably more that DA is marginally easier to execute in response to something than ID, so I see Kaguras DP out in some areas more often than Ragnas, Jins, etc.
Tigre Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 In terms of AH, just 4D that shit on reaction and laugh as they fall uselessly to the ground for hilarious pressure options. I don't think DP is supposed to be used as a pressure option in AH... there are much better pressure options (jump cancels+ low homing). This isn't about AH3 though, this is about BB. I see nothing wrong with Ragnas DP as it is.
Nakkiel Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 (edited) ID catches most characters' backdashes, F-Nanners does not. And nah; doing half health meterless as a punish is better than Blaz punishes. Uh if it doesn't whiff, you get a much weaker punish than you would in BB with a strong punish move lol. And like Tigre said, in the context of BB, there is hardly anything wrong with ID. It has a huge risk attached to it and it's extremely easy to punish. It doesn't lead into good damage unless you spend 50 meter (which is a ton, in CP) for decent capital. Characters with oki setups can still run pretty much any setup they want even in the face of ID (unlike something like Azrael's Growler which ruins anything that uses a projectile), it's short-ranged... Not seeing how it's anything more than a run of the mill, good DP. Edited January 30, 2014 by sG
