Master Of Chaos Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 But then we might not've seen that epic comeback. Still, I do wish it had been Dora. I don't regret it though, it was the best match I've ever seen in my life.
BlackYakuzu94 Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 That game is painful to watch And somehow tops BB's grand finals in terms of views.
ZenTzen Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 thats what happens the later a specific game starts, every evo is like that, if BB had started later than KI, i'm pretty sure it would have had better views
zdravkelja Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 BB still broke record in terms of views, which is nice
StylisH Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 its because its later on. closer to marvel and sf4 Beat me to it. And the masses will tune in early to watch those two.
Stellarcircle5 Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 That was a fantastic match. I think the best part was the aftermath with Galileo on stage as tears literally streamed down his face. Such an amazing player deserves the win. That was probably the best Blazblue set of all time.
hakimiru Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 But then we might not've seen that epic comeback. Still, I do wish it had been Dora. I don't regret it though, it was the best match I've ever seen in my life. From his twitter and what other sources I could gather, Dora apparently took 4 months off playing as prep for being a liver donor to one of his parents. Between recovering and EVO he had 1.5 months to get back into his game, so he probably wasn't at his best. Dreiko Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 As long as the only one Dora lost to was the champ I can rest easy. He took out N-Otoko even. I think he might have given dogura a run for his money too.
Verimeloni Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 I myself play Azrael so I rooted for Dogura but Galileo just deserved it in the end. I hope Arc Revo will be as interesting/inspiring to watch. Dogura's combos were more hype tho.
NecroTheReaper Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 I don't know a lot of the FG community apart from people here on DL, but who was doing the commentating on that match? I was laughing while staring in awe when he said "Its the final scramble... and he made an omelette!" And yeah, Dogura's CH 5D combo was pretty awesome in that earlier round. First time seeing any of the pro Jp players play live.

Dreiko Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 Dacid was the screechy overly hyper one. Main Bang long enough and it has lasting effects. :D
Vulcan422 Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 That match is legendary status. Pretty damn sure Dogura wanted to finish Galileo off with the Astral for the crowd, so he willingly gave up opportunities just so he could try and flip some tables.
TD Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 If so, what an extremely stupid thing to do. Who mucks up their chance at thirty thousand just to please fans? And would the reward be worth it? More cheering that would have been gotten by winning anyway? Well, good luck getting a chance at this ever again. How the hell did N-O lose I'm pissed he was supposed to win

How the hell did N-O lose I'm pissed he was supposed to win You are pretty mean to Dogura. It's totally worth it to want to Astral during a final match in EVO. Everyone should be doing it. Screw money and shit, this is a game. And we want the hype.
muerto Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 well according to what i could read from n-o twitter, he count sleep and whent to play at the casino, he most likely wasnt at his best because of that.

Screw money and shit, this is a game. And we want the hype. Are you kidding? Dogura has my complete respect as a player for getting that far. Losing only to the champion is an admirable feat. Throwing away matches to get basically nothing in return isn't. This how I view astrals: heat is a very valuable resource in bb, while most astrals are either dp's, combo filler or something special. It needs maxed out heat, which isn't always possible given it's other condition. Legit satraps are for someone like terumi , otherwise they usually aren't worh going for at certain health ranges anyway. Just kill the foe using your tools and other heat options. You basically either need to hold back, ib a lot, stuff like that. Basically, if you're not meeting the heat condition at certain health ranges it probably isn't worth going for at all unless you are terumi. Now there are quite a few situations where this is not true, like the foe being at 34% health and you meet or can meet the conditions, but these situations usually happen on their own. Unless forced. Especially in a situation pretty much any bb player would kill for, it just isn't the right thing to do. It could almost seem like he underestimated Galileo, his final opponent who happens to be -final- for a reason. One can say dogura just wanted a different type of achievement, but he looked very serious about that win both as he was winning and losing. I somehow don't think he wanted to lose, and that is why I believe that if he were really trying to astral, it just was not a wise decision. #playtowin

That being said, Dora played REALLY well against him, easily the best Bang play I've ever seen.
D.R.F. Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 I went for kogatan if rrsquared lost lol. He barely lost to tiku before top 16 though:(
Verimeloni Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 Dogura's not the kind of a player who'd risk winning by trying to get an SSS rank while doing it. I wish he'd won at least one round with either 2C > BHS or unblockable BHS. The Azrael in him took over. If that was the case he would have won.

Lets be honest, Kogatan played pretty well (a bit too DP happy if you ask me), but I don't think he's quite on the level of Tsuji, Dora, N-O, Galileo or Dogura. Maybe he'll level up next year and prove me wrong.

So I think he could have done and he barely lost to tiku because he dropped like 6 combos and got spd too many times. He played great though nonetheless
