TD Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 I just really like the idea of everyone being balanced, unique and viable above all else. Except tager.
Errol Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 Sounds like they are going for the unique part in CP2. Looking forward to it.
Syklone Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 I just don't want my main to get nerfed lol (as we all do) . Hazama pls ;_;
chzchan Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 I'd say a good point to try and bring people either up or down to is the level of Jin. He was good in 1.0, got some small nerfs in 1.1, but was still balanced and better than he was in Ex. I think the fact that his damage went UP in a game where average damage was lowered, but he's not broken ass OP or trash tier. You're just talking about balancing around Jin in terms of power neutral, tools, and damage, right? Not options, safety of said options, ease of use, and all that. I'd love if nobody was as annoying to fight as Jin/Hazama/etc. but that will never happen.
NecroTheReaper Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 Yes, as in all of a character's provided moveset meshes well and gives them their playstyle that WORKS. Making all the tools of the character work in the way as intended. I'm not sayin there should be no bad matchups, but bad matchups because the tools aren't working together shouldn't happen.
Kikirin Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 I'd much rather have a cripple simulator. Would be playing P4 or Marvel instead if I wanted ridiculous stuff.
Blackwing55 Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 Hazama's have to work pretty hard especially online. Why the hate for a mid tier?
chzchan Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 Ah it is just hard to fight them with how uncommitted they are allowed to be with their actions without any repercussions based on the range they are from you. I'm sort of glad that a resource is spent when the chain is pulled back in even if it is just 1/6 of the entire new Osama meter. That is an example of something that absolutely needed to be done.
NecroTheReaper Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 I'll agree with that. Mostly because what's the purpose of the meter if Hazama doesn't lose any options if he's used up all his resource? Especially when he gets it back instantly if it hits. I do think though that if they're gonna touch Haz's neutral, it might be fair to make combos a bit easier (not better/more damaging).
Errol Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 Hazama's have to work pretty hard especially online. Why the hate for a mid tier? Sorry, but still high tier, just not S.

Yeah his optimized BnBs are a huge pain to do online with that dashing 5A link for example. I'm fine if he keeps high reward if they make him less annoying in neutral. Pretty sure the new way his meter works will be enough, though. You know only regaining meter passively when you are on the ground and costing 0.5 to pull one chain back in while raising the max stocks to 3.
Blackwing55 Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 Hazama has some pretty long recovery times on his moves especially for neutral use if he has no stocks or even just retracts in the air that's 40 frames recovery more then nu has on her grounded swords. His real options to not be punished is to use a stock. Plus ask other hazamas closing in is harder then it looks. Especially against characters like ragna with full screen air dash hits. His pokes outside of chains tend to be a tad slow to activate and with the long recovery have a bad habit of being sutffed. Chain is his neutral for a reason.
NecroTheReaper Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 I don't like to pretend to know everything about a character, so what would you suggest Blackwing to even up Hazama to a standard B+ to A- tier?
chzchan Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 You mean from where he might be in 2.0 and not where he currently is, right?
Syklone Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 2.0 he's guaranteed at least C tier. Remember they nerfed more than just chains in the loketest
Blackwing55 Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 2.0 he's guaranteed at least C tier. Remember they nerfed more than just chains in the loketestI say at least B-tier godly OD right now. OD doesn't make the character though makoto has a pretty good one but she still low tier. What i want? I want hazama to be more of a jack of all trades like extend. High heat, long combos low damage. I don't mind if combos are hard i like that makes it less snore fest disliked him in 1.0 i like having options.
NecroTheReaper Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 I havnt seen all of Hazama's notes, so I can't say too much. I suppose from where he is currently, since 2.0 isnt out yet and a lot of what we know is based on a single loketest and assumption.

I can see that too but OD just isn't reliable and who's to say he'll even survive long enough to use it. No reversal+low health=probably need to burst too

I suppose from where he is currently, since 2.0 isnt out yet and a lot of what we know is based on a single loketest and assumption. I don't care to much about test now. Everytime they say he can't then he can. He went from 0 5C reps to 3 in 1.0 from 0-1-2-1 in 1.1 they removed one because the extra j.C rep is less effective then 6C.
Blackwing55 Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 Gcod will make od more reliable. As haz though it's a dp guessing game at least it will stop giving me burst when i'm trying to od. I was more addressing the current hazama hate not future changes though.
chzchan Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 at least it will stop giving me burst when i'm trying to od. See I hate when that happens too, but I don't think GCOD is the way to go. That needs to be addressed on its own or not at all because it just has to do with your knowledge of the opponent's frame data as well as your own feeling of the combo timer.
Blackwing55 Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 You're right ot should be a system mechanic just for me. Game balanced.
NecroTheReaper Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 What I wish they'd do is fix heat gain on the defensive side. I can go from 100% to 10% and not even reach 40 heat. So if a high mixup character like Valk hits me, the only thing I can do is die?
Blackwing55 Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 I'm still all for nerfing the crap out of the air throw hitbox. Thing i'm truly looking forward too.

So if a high mixup character like Valk hits me, the only thing I can do is die? you could block. heatgain from taking damage is entirely based on how much damage you take. you will get 40% before dying. You'll get more if you manage to land any hits, or block/ib any stuff, etc.
