Do you guys think there'll be a decent NA/EU presence in this game? I'm kinda weary about spending $70(?) for a game no one in my region will play, my connection not being man enough to handle playing with JPN.

That's how it looked in the first preview video. Last Order comes out and if she's hit Accel makes them pay. The new video confirms the suspicion. The better question is, what's the endurance of Excaliborg. Will it get stuffed by Kino shot like pretty much every other assist?

Aww, Dokuro-chan doesn't hit both players after all. That's a shame, as that would've been a very obvious way of making her stand out.

 

Some stuff from the article that might not be obvious from the video:

 - Dokuro falls down at a fixed distance of about 3-4 character lengths. 

 - She throws Excalibolg slightly upwards, so it's easy to whiff against crouching opponents, but its start-up is fast enough to react to anything from full screen.

 - She has another hidden mode (activates Potential / actually does hit your own character? Or does that Potential cut-in not have any hidden meaning?).

 

 - Accel comes out even if Last Order is hit with a projectile.

 - His wave assist hits the whole screen and bounces the opponent off the ground AND the ceiling, so it can be tricky to follow up.

 - His palettes change Last Order's colors, too!

 

 - Izaya's counter works the same way as Accel's, except that you can follow it up with a combo.

 - The stomping assist simply knocks down the opponent, though its long animation makes it much easier to follow up. Not sure if it's a low, but the animation implies as much.

So that's what the online mode looks like. Totally awesome and pretty engaging as it sparks the intent of bring on the challenger. The training mode doesn't look that complex so hopping on and practice won't be an issue, so that's a plus. Only a few more weeks before I can get in the lab so I can Duel Skill and Starburst Stream all day online.

Seems very similar to UNIEL, which is to be expected, I suppose. Guess it was mostly done by FB, not ASW.

6 pages of options for le training. Any translation for the 3 pages that were shown? lol. 8 player rooms seems a bit excessive but perfectly acceptable, I just hope you can auto-pass your turn for those times when you're eating but still want to watch matches.

Yeah one of those options in the network room creation menu was a toggle for autopassing. (presumably, how many seconds of inactivity it takes to initiate autopass)

I'm hoping there will be a decent EU/NA presence. The game should be pretty popular with anime (SAO, Durarara, Strike the Blood are big in NA/EU) and French Bread fans so here's hoping I guess.

 

I've pre-ordered no matter the circumstances though.

I feel there will be, but I'm worried about how long the game will be active for. GGXrd comes out around a month later I believe, which is the big release everyone's been hyped for this year. Regardless, I'm getting this but not sure if day one because I might not have enough money, definitely gonna pick it up though.

I already have mine pre-ordered awaiting release haha and I know of 3 others in my city who are getting it but we won't know how big the scene is until you press O on Network.

I'd like it if Aksys actually catered to Europeans but it never happens. As it stands, I'm waiting to see if my friends are importing GGXRD cause if not I'll skip it for a while.

 

Dengeki will keep me busy, no matter if online play is going or not so that won't be a issue in the short term.
