Just got the game ! Already perfected kirito's 50% ( a little more if you pop your second trump card ) damage mid-combo nitoryu activation.

Here's how it goes : stuff > cr.C > qcf.C ( 3 hits ) > nitoryu activation > st.B > St.C > J.C > qcf.C > land > slash followup > Shield follow-up + 6.S kino assist call > flip followup ( kino hits ) J.C > qcf.C > land > qcf.AB > starburst stream !

It costs 3 meters, really easy, damaging, and satisying to land !

really enjoying the game straigh fowardness. Yeah I can see why other wouldnt like this but I am happy with it. it provides enough options for things to not get stagnate.

Can someone please tell me if there is an option to invite someone to your lobby and add a private slot to the lobby?

If so where and how? The ASW-StartButton-Route doesnt work in this one, heh.

Don't. I will have a better solution shortly. There's no need to clean up the garbage images I grabbed from the jp wiki.

There isn't, you literally have to throw a room up and tell the other person to search for it. It's sorta nuts lol

Does anyone know if Taiga's Trump Card has a weakness? Because it SEEMS like it's really powerful when used as a reversal (taking out what seems to be 1/3rd of a bar, from the matches I saw it used in), and that would really make fighting any Aisakas a pain in the oshiri.

Taiga's trump feels like a weaker version of Miyuki's, since Miyuki's Cocytus has some startup invul, tracks the opponent, is fairly fast and it's unblockable in the air and against crouchers

I see. So basically, you wanna be on the ground when you anticipate it coming. Is the range on it enough to where I could plausibly, say, counterattack with Enju's divekick after block? Or are they both safe on block?

I really want to play this game, and yes I'll probably be dismantled for the pick but I'm definitely going to try out Shizuo. He looks interesting with how his projectiles work, as well as his counter move

also his special divekick move

Honestly? Play whoever you want. This game has me going and checking out the animes of the characters that I don't know (almost finished with Black Bullet, and probably gonna start on Sakurasou soon).

I mean, I like to think of him as a slimmer Waldstein. A shorter, slimmer Waldstein capable of throwing almost everything but the kitchen sink at you. Same way I see Shana as a fire-aspected, cape-wearing tsundere version of Hyde. Kirito is Seth with swords instead of knives (but has one of em hidden almost all the time). Asuna is Orie without the Persona, Yukina's basically Koro-less Ken, Rentaro is a fusion of Akatsuki and Eltnum, and Miyuki seems to be a less ghastly form of Hilda.

I could go on, but I'm not sure if it'd be worth the time to rant about the similarities I see in each of the characters compared to others. I mean, hell, Akira doesn't even play anywhere near close to his style in VF5.

Btw, in case anyone's wondering: the crystallized school building stage is a 7th Dragon 2020 stage, while the pink crystal Tron-esque stage is a Virtual On stage. And the gloomy castle that looks like it's on fire or set for some ritual? That's a replica of the final boss room in the PS2 version of Shinobi (I've seen that room more than I'd like to admit).

Nearly all trumps that inflict damage are air unblockable/overheads (Selvaria's rifle, Taiga's trashcan). You can only block them with a standing guard, but you still get that huge pushback. On the upside trumps are vulnerable to throws, but it might not be worth the risk unless you know it's coming.

I gotta say i like Kirino's since you can set up unblockable combo's from her trump.

The trashcan has a lousy hitbox compared to other projectile trumps. Selvaria's last much longer and you are guaranteed to land on it while jumping.

Hey, look on the bright side: at least she's devoid of her self-destruct sequence CA. That would've given her a nice fat room in the banlist condos.

Mizuumi wiki cleaned up some, removed some redundant data, etc etc.

Akira and Selvarias pages have been completely overhauled to match the right layout, (including filling out Selvarias move names)

I will not be adding any images to the wiki until I have sprite rips, which should be hopefully happening sometime in the noncommittal future.

If you have any information to add (or can translate from the jp wiki, as it looks like a few people have started doing from the history log!) please contribute and help get this wiki filled out!

<edit> I'm gonna go take a nap, if someone could list out all of the cancel types in the game for me so I can add the cancel types to the wiki because I'm a lazy piece of crap

I desperately want to contribute. Usually how long does it take bell to respond to e-mails? Or did I do something wrong and not follow some special format when I sent the message?

Posted

As far as I know there's no special format, as far as how long I'm unsure, he may just be busy for the weekend. There is no standard turn around time as far as I know

Alright. No use being impatient. I already have a bunch of stuff written down, so it'll just be copy and paste once I get access.

Ben Reed: I'm probably gonna be at jebailey's thing on the 22nd, so if you're there we can get some matches in

Sweet, see you there. I even practiced Guilty Gear a little (including non-Kliff characters!) so I might be down to play some of that too.

On the subject of Selvaria, I just played a long set vs my brother's KYH/Accelerator and holy shit that character/assist combo is so dumb. KYH already tends to beat Sel at mid and long range, but Accelerator 5S makes her REALLY hard for Sel to attack. I started the set with Sel/Alicia and could barely lay a hand on him. After literally slamming my stick a couple times, I switched to Accelerator for the hell of it and the matchup got so much easier it's not even funny.

The main thing I was doing for basic meterless oki with Sel was combo to 5C 214B, recover fully, call Alicia 5S. Not enough frame advantage to do anything but block and bait reversals, and I learned quickly that Alicia's grenade would just trigger KYH's 2A+B anyway. But with Accelerator 5S I could do the same setup and frame advantage didn't matter because of the threat of Accelerator. I was free to walk around, jump around, 2A, 4A+B, just poke with impunity at KYH without having to block a bazillion Piercers. If I landed a hit I just did basic combos into 214C j236A+B for another knockdown and to wait out Accelerator's cooldown, dumping meter/Trump Card with 41236B+C if it would kill. I got so much more mileage out of Accelerator instead of Alicia in that matchup it wasn't even funny. IMO Accelerator could stand a couple whacks with the nerf bat, it just offers WAY too much utility compared to other assists with the same intended role. Only a handful of assists KINDA counter it if you're not retarded with use of Accelerator 5S. (And the 6S isn't bad either! It's just that it shares a cooldown with 5S, the Haggar lariat assist from hell. So it's not gonna see much use except in kill combos and the occasional full-screen reaction.)

As for the matchup without considering Accelerator, main thing that causes problems for Sel is Piercer. Sel has no real way to whiff punish it and it kills random up-back, so basically you just have to wait out the Piercers, convince the KYH player that it's time to start baiting Sel's attempt to sneak past Piercer, and fish for a 214B or perhaps a double jump/super jump and/or empty teleport (or j214C if you know you're spaced right for it) in order to get in and start oki. That move just has so much range and a hitbox that covers so much of the floor/low airspace that you just have to be patient and put up with it and creep your way in grappler-style. With the right assist (Accelerator!) you only need one good read to get in and stay in with 1-bar confirms to j236A+B. Her counter is of course trivial to safe jump from knockdown so the only trick is not accidentally getting poked back to Piercer range once they leave blockstun.

Accelerator, though. Goddamn. Mark my words, aside from a handful of soft counters, that assist IS the metagame, lol.

Is there any site where people are posting their combos and stuff? I am using Yukina but I do not know very well how to connect her stuff to make combos.

Damnit, why have I found myself from wanting to main Miyuki to switching over to that Kirino train? Oh well....I guess I'm more suited to doing rushdown mixups than trying something new. ( ~ _~)
