ThatHiroGuy Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 Hopefully they do the same for the other ArcSys fighters, that way I'll never have to turn my PS3 on for them. I don't mind needing a PS3 for my single player games, hell I still have my PS2 hooked up for the classics, but one machine for all of my fighters/ FFXIV is gonna be nice.
George Costanza Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 Ehhhhhhhh Unless a bunch of new characters are announed or the price is cut down to the ground I think I may actually skip out on this one.
Jotamide Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 Ehhhhhhhh Unless a bunch of new characters are announed or the price is cut down to the ground I think I may actually skip out on this one. In my case is mostly an issue of whether we can upgrade from vanilla CP, if it's only an expensive retail release on PS3 I'm definitely skipping it.
Yuhoke Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 Upgrade for vanilla CP PS3 would be nice. Retail versions for 40$ for PS4 and XB1 are a given. Let's see if we get info on this on the next issue.
mAc Chaos Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 Wait, this is just 2.0 right. My first thought seeing that link was "did they just announce a new version before 2.0 even hit the US."Interesting that it's for XB1 though. I wonder if there's any real difference between the XB1/PS4 versions and the PS3 version.
BloodWolF Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 Interesting announcement. Thanks for posting. I'll have to keep tabs on it. I'd love for something to give me my motivation for BB back since I loved CP so much.
Zedar90 Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 Wait, this is just 2.0 right. My first thought seeing that link was "did they just announce a new version before 2.0 even hit the US." Yes, it's 2.0 for the consoles. BBCP extend is the console version for BBCP version 2.0 in the same way as BBCS Extend was the console version for BBCSII version 1.10.
Dreiko Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 This is just like the other extend. I don't see them doing a dlc update thing in the vein of SF. Especially since they list new story-content in the reveal. Honestly, anyone who expected anything different were not being realistic, no offense.
Luminos564 Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 Alright show of hands, who here is actually surprised that an Extend version CP is coming? What, nobody? Thought so. If anyone genuinely thought they wouldn't do this, then I suggest you go see an optometrist because this should have been seen coming a mile away. All the signs pointed to it, especially back with Mori's comment about how he wanted to move the series to the PS4. BBCPE is most likely his attempt at testing the waters before going all the way. That said, I share the sentiment to what ASW plans to add for BBCPE on the PS4/XBOne. Higher resolution is a given considering the PS4's capabilities (I dunno if XBOne is native 1080 or 720 though but it's a pretty powerful machine too is it not?) but something tells me that's not enough. New story content is most likely the Vita Beach stuff unless they're actually expanding (or "extending" *dodges shots*) the story itself. So yeah, color me mildly interested. April is pretty soon but leaves plenty of time for another balance change. Hopefully there's no unexplained 6~9 month delay for the localized version this time though.
Tokkan Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 What if, in a similar way to using M.O.M characters online in Xrd, they add the ability to use Abyss mode characters online in BBCPE?
Soviet Bear Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 Hopefully there's no unexplained 6~9 month delay for the localized version this time though. I suggest you go see an optometrist.
Tokkan Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 I suggest you go see an optometrist. Haha, yeah. 5 months != 6-9 months.
Dreiko Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 Well, in the case of CP that is true but...what bout UNIEL? I think he has a point in a way.
swordsman09 Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 Let's just wait until they announce Hibiki or Mai or something. I honestly am surprised about the inclusion of next-gen systems though. It's not like it's Guilty Gear's 3D models or anything so what could they really upgrade beside some stages?
Luminos564 Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 I suggest you go see an optometrist. Oh right my mistake, I seemed to have been too optimistic there. Here, I'll correct myself: 10~11 month delay from the JPN version for the NA. TBA 2016 or whenever Chronophantasma hits PC waters in EU. In case I actually need to say it, I am exaggerating on the release windows for comedic effect. #Don'texplainthejoke What if, in a similar way to using M.O.M characters online in Xrd, they add the ability to use Abyss mode characters online in BBCPE? #MotherOfGod I can only imagine the amount of crazy this brings.
White Man Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 Not surprised at all to see they're doing CP Extend, though I didn't expect the PS4/XB1 ports. Hm, now I'm wondering if the impetus behind the creation of CP 2.0 was a desire to get the game on next-gen consoles. That would explain a number of things. I'll satisfy my curiosity if this is offered as a DLC expansion for the PS3 version (which very likely won't be the case given the existence of the next-gen ports). Otherwise, I can't possibly justify sinking another $40+ into this game.
swordsman09 Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 Well knowing how CS EX wasn't a DLC expansion, I highly doubt this one will be. I think I can find other things worth 40 dollars.Like the Killer Instinct Season 2 Ultra Combo Pack.
Yuhoke Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 http://gematsu.com/2014/12/blazblue-chrono-phantasma-extend-announced-ps4-ps3-xbox-one?wt=2 The game will cost 6,264 yen via retail / 5,800 yen via download. Cross-platform online play is supported between PlayStation 4 and PS3. In addition to the story of BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma, a new “Extend” story is being added. Bullet, Kokonoe, and Kagura will appear in the scenario. Development is 60 percent complete. Full price :/ welp
SoWL Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 I'm honestly not sure I'll be able to buy a full-priced expansion in April. Hell, I'm not sure I'll be able to buy myself a loaf of bread by then. I can only wonder how much stuff there is to develop if it's just at 60% right now.
White Man Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 Full price :/ welp Back to Guilty Gear it is, then. It was fun while it lasted, 'Blue. No hard feelings.
Tokkan Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 I can only wonder how much stuff there is to develop if it's just at 60% right now. More DLC characters Kappa.
Luminos564 Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 And with the full price reveal my interest in the game went from a nice 60% to -2,000%. Good shit ASW, good shit. You Astral'd me like a steamroller. The thought occurs though that this pricing might be for the PS4 version and its potential Limited Edition and the PS3 version will be cheaper. CS Extend LE was also full price IIRC so that's another thing to keep in mind. Of course, I am most likely wrong and this pricing is the real McCoy.
Airk Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 I... would be really surprised if there were any differences between the PS3 version and the "current gen" console version of this game. No way in heck they're going to uprez the sprites. Maybe they'll like, antialias or something. z.z
Tokkan Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 CS Extend was also full price in Japan. It didn't even have an LE there.
