Tokkan Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 Woah, didn't expect it'd skip right to Extend. Thought it would come much later. 1 year, 6 months. That's only one month more than how long it took from CS1 to CSE. I wonder how we'll react when we get "Guilty Geard Xrd+R" in the span of a year. Oh, that's definitely going to happen; you'd have to be pretty dumb to think it wouldn't. And the hilarious thing is people will probably buy it, because it probably will have Johnny and Dizzy.
BlackYakuzu94 Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 1 year, 6 months. That's only one month more than how long it took from CS1 to CSE. I'm assuming you're counting console releases and nor arcade ones, soooo Blazblue Continuum Shift - PS3/360 - July 1st, 2010 Blazblue Continuum Shift Extend - PS3/360 - December 17th, 2011 Blazblue Chronophantasma - PS3 - October 24th, 2013 Blazblue Chronophantasma Extend - PS3/PS4/XBone - April 2015. It has in fact been longer :V My god, this is the same as the CS cycle....Clearly we're stuck in a fucking Continuum Shift.
BlackYakuzu94 Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 Oh, that's definitely going to happen; you'd have to be pretty dumb to think it wouldn't. And the hilarious thing is people will probably buy it, because it probably will have Johnny and Dizzy. They'd probably be more viable than Celica or Lambda tho :V

And the hilarious thing is people will probably buy it, because it probably will have Johnny and Dizzy. I'll probably buy it. It really depends on what trend GG takes up. The XX iterations felt like they built upon each previous one and added new stuff, but it also felt cluttered after a while. BlazBlue so far has done gigantic system overhauls and character overhauls to the point where I'm not really frustrated about paying again as much as I'm tired of re-learning everything again and each new iteration feeling like they aren't sure what to do with some characters. I feel like they've finally nailed a good system with Chrono Phantasma, but then again we might get something completely new with Cortex Rebellion or whatever C# name the "proper" sequel gets. If after two or three Xrd sequels the same happens, I'll prolly drop out, too. I kinda doubt that will happen though, because I feel Daisuke's team has a different approach to Mori's. Anyway, CT was discovering a whole new game. CS had a slight sense of wonder as I figured out the new shiny toys my character got. Extend and onwards felt like "what will they change this time" instead of "what will I get this time".
Slaudial Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 I can't fucking believe they're doing this shit again And people complain about Street Fighter IV Pretty sure that if you wanted to keep up to date with SF and BB from the beginning in terms of gameplay (Most recent version + Characters) that BB would have cost you more money. A lot more money, actually. About $$130 for SF and around $235 for BB

Uh, who here is 'preferring' the BB style of billing us $40-60 every 9 months exactly? We like the GAME better, but that doesn't mean we like the way it's sold.

I may like playing this series, but I sure as hell don't like paying for the latest update every year. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Ragnarok_F4 Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 Bad decision, however 1 or 2 new chars will more or less fix this mess. Either way, I'm getting it, love BB. The thing is that "maybe" I'll wait for the US version this time since probably it will be at $40, I can wait playing CP1.1, P4U2, Xrd and UNIEL (and the rest of the games of the fucking huge backlog I have because of fighters this year) until it comes to this side, and probably will buy it on PS4... Come on ASW, Celica isn't enough and Lambda is not new at all.
just some guy Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 Arc System Works: Fuck You, You'll Still Buy It~

We like the GAME better, but that doesn't mean we like the way it's sold. All I know is that when I expressed disapproval of on disc DLC in the P4U2 thread about a year ago I had a bunch of people white knighting and getting mad at me. It's at least comforting to see people on here opposing bad business practices though, in this instance I'm happy to be wrong.
Luminos564 Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 You mean anything into 4k pre-CSII parry loop Makoto right? and I guess they're at least learning from their mistakes, they went from two bs dlc chars (makoto, Valk) to one (koko) per release. I got one, I'm skipping this garbage until I find it in the bargain bin, I won't support shit business decisions. Parry loop was patched in fairly swift order if I recall proper. I remember reading up that Makoto was released. Next day I found out Parry Loop existed. Next day it was gone. But hey, good for you if you can hush those voices urging you to buy it. I've been having a hard time keeping them quiet . Oh, that's definitely going to happen; you'd have to be pretty dumb to think it wouldn't. And the hilarious thing is people will probably buy it, because it probably will have Johnny and Dizzy. See this is the kind of thing that is keeping me away from buying Xrd right now. One is the lack of PS4. The other is this. I know or at least am 90% sure there is going to be an Xrd Extend somewhere down the line with more stuff to experiment with. The question is: do I bite the bullet and buy it now then pay again for the same game with a roster update? Or wait? Either one will eat away at something of me. The former will eat away at my wallet. The latter will eat away at my patience. I can't fucking believe they're doing this shit again And people complain about Street Fighter IV It's because Capcom is a high-profile company. They're in the spotlight FAR more than ASW ever is. And with more exposure and eyes glued on you, it's a lot more pronounced when you do stupid shit with your games. In particular with Street Fighter, a franchise that many still hail at the paragon of fighting games. Trust me, if ASW had the kind of money, audience and exposure that Capcom has, people would be busting their chops just the same.
BlackYakuzu94 Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 Think of buying Arc's games(or fighting games in general) as going to a job you hate. You'll curse, kick and scream but you know it's gotta be done to keep up. So suck it up and either buy it or don't. I hate it as much as you guys do but it is what it is. This is the hand we've been dealt, so either take it or leave it.

redsilversnake Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 Parry Loop wasn't removed until CSII. Incorrect. It was removed with the patch that added Valkenhayn's data.
Errol Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 Parry Loop wasn't removed until CSII. I remember it being removed quickly too.
mAc Chaos Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 What got removed was the absolutely broken parry loop that got like 10k or whatever off anything, in a patch. But a still strong version of it remained. The hilarious part is that patch was only for the PS3 though. 360 users still had to deal with it for a long time.

I remember this, my friend who was a 360 was so salty about this shit. So when can we expect the US release of CPE? It better be no more than a 2-3 month interval, there's no reason to delay just an update.
WaltzOfTheWolf Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 This is the news thread, so I think this belongs here for all those who will be looking for this article: BBCPExtend announced for Japanese release April 23 2015 Get hype! I had a feeling this would happen! Not that I think it's bad. Pretty cool! I'm really curious how the ps4 version will be! I assuming sprites are going to be godly clean. I'm rather curious if they are going to add more. I mean April 2015 is a looooog ways away.
Tokkan Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 BBCPEX gives us something they haven't done since CS: individual character stories. Famitsu introduced us to Bullet's ("The Rat"), Kokonoe's ("Collision") and Kagura's ("Determination"). They all focus on the particular character's past. The story select screen looks interesting because there's a separate tab for the new gag stories from Extend rather than them being alternate routes.

Errol Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 bullet had some story. amane on the other hand, like absolutely nothing.
