They are at least consistent.  Chars that really need help almost never get it. Perennial S tiers get nerfed a bit and buffed back next version. etc.

I honestly think that, they consistently have a familiar cast at the top and a familiar cast at the bottom. It's not 100%, not even necessarily that close, but it's still very noticeably more than just random as to whether a char is good or bad in N iteration of the game

I can see tager vs nu being in tager's favor in 2.0

He gets a lot more reward for getting in compared to any previous version.

Nu's normals are now considered pretty much unnecessary in neutral. This means a well timed sledge is much more useful.

Nu's job is to keep others out while holding them down with gravity. Tager doesn't move much anyways. Just tag em with magnetism and drag em in.

Nu also lost lambda sickle storm which was a great answer to anything tager did.

I'd have to try the matchup myself to know for sure though.

I don't play either character, but Tager still has to get in, and Nu is getting rewarded pretty well off her confirms now. It's just my opinion, but you can never tell with grapplers....

I sortof concur.  But I think it's actually simpler than that.   There are characters who started off good.  And there are characters who started off bad.  And, in general, this doesn't change very much, unless you're talking about a character who started off Surprise Top Tier like Makoto and Kokonoe - those characters get nerfed.  But pretty much everyone else gets exactly the opposite of what people around here are trying to claim happened with this iteration - the vast majority of the time it's either "Yeah, you were top tier in the last game, so we nerfed you, but here, have some buffs that put you right back where you were." or "Yeah, you were bad in the last game, so we buffed you, but we were afraid you might actually be decent, so we gave you some nerfs that leave you pretty much back where you were."

There are a few characters where they just seem to spin the wheel of whatever - Ragna, Jin, Hakumen, mostly, seem to be all over the place in the tier lists overall, but otherwise, honestly, I agree that the tier lists are pretty static, like you imply, because Arc seems unable to nerf without buffing, or buff without nerfing - in pretty much equal proportion.

Logic fail continues!

If you nerf a character, and then buff them, you don't change the tier list.  This is why Hazama was A+ for like 5 games, because they'd be like "Well, Hazama needs to be nerfed..." <nerfs him gently> "...but we should give him some buffs so players don't feel bad..." <puts him exactly where he was in the tier list before>

Their placing on the tier listing depends entirely on what buffs they get, not the fact that they get them at all :V

Let's just say that historically, my version happens way more often than yours in this game.

And anyway, what's to stop some whiny player who feels like his 'formerly top tier' character didn't get 'enough' buffs?

Why buff them at all?  Just keep them interesting.

Two things:

1) Just because Nu's normals are deemed "unnecessary" now doesn't mean they've become unusable. A healthy mix of D's and normals has always been Nu's approach to this matchup, and if Nu players aren't using normals when they should be, that's not the MU being harder, that's Nu players being bad.

2) "Just tag em with magnetism and drag em in." Where are you getting this from? Gravity bodies Tager HARD; it's even suggested in our matchup forums as a counter to magnetism. "He hardly moves anyway" isn't an advantage for Tager, it just makes his options even worse when he's stuck waiting for gravity to run out. He can't drag Nu in for free in 1.1 and he's definitely NOT going to be able to do that in 2.0.

I just don't see how Dogura's experience lets him say with any degree of certainty that Tager has an edge on Nu. All Tager's changes have done is give him better confirms, which doesn't necessarily help vs zoners. 3.5k off raw 5D only matters when he can land the 5D to begin with.

I'm almost sure that Dogura is trolling with the whole "Tager is a hard match-up" thing. That or he's playing against some godlike Tagers, taking into account that he's not that proficient with Nu (even though there's nothing difficult about mashing D lol).

I think we need more opinions to corroborate his. Even if he's Dogura, I would at least seek that much when something like this is on the table.

Aye; Even Dogura can tell jokes.

Idk.. Tager OD raid seems like a easy game over if he lands it on Nu. especially with the DMG it does and how low her health is. Plus he has the health to make a mistake or 2 but Nu definitely does not in this case. But yeah, a video or 2 to verify what he is saying would be nice to see. :)

why would nu ever be subject to getting OCGC>720'd? she doesn't have to give a shit about even bursts or counter assaults, she shouldn't need to be anywhere close to tager when he's in blockstun. anyway that would be a rare thing.

A lot earlier than I expected, but still not early enough for SCR. Ah well. At least it is happening before summer.

XBOX thing is surprising. So is it not going to be a patch? Definitely going to kill the following pretty hard if it isn't a patch for the PS3 version, especially with how the reception to 2.0 is right now. Hoping that Extend is different from 2.0 with 2.0 being treated as sort of an extended location test, especially if it isn't going to be an update.

Xbox One, lol.

Wonder what difference the PS4/Xbone versions will have from the PS3 version. All the article says is that they're adding more story for this new version. Mori claimed that the game would need exclusive new features for a PS4 version when he stated his desire to port the game to PS4, so I'm expecting something.

Cool, I hope they add the BBQ mode from CSE (psp version).

If they couldn't translate library mode, they're not going to translate that... is what I would say if not for them translating the library mode in Xrd.

Not sure how I would feel about a mode that's nothing but a glorified trivia contest though.

Is true, the library mode, I complety forgot about it, I rather have that translated than the BBQ mode. Please ASW!.

Stuff is hype, allegedly there's going to be more info on the 18th in Famitsu's magazine. I'm amped just thinking about it.

The wheels on the hype train are turning!

What if they add even more characters as DLC to this version? They didn't do that with the last Extend, but it would be funny.

I would hope not, since then they would have to delay the release of BB4 in order to get that character to the arcade.

On an other note, I saw in that the lower left corner that it said cross platform, so it would at least mean that PS3 and PS4 can fight against each others.

They added Rel to BBCSE

so maybe one new character? I feel that I may commit the cardnal sin that is speculation in the gameplay thread, but I've predicted before that they would add more characters because otherwise the symmetry of the character select screen would be thrown off, and I'd like to restate that here. It's more likely that two or no new console exclusive characters will be added.

Ether way I'm exited. More hype for cross platforming!

You mean like how they added Celica and Lambda to this version? Please do remember that BBCPE console is BBCP2.0 arcade just as BBCSE console is BBCS2ver1.10 arcade.
