With Xrd, UNIEL and Persona available, I'm dropping BB for now. Sorry, Extend is not worth it (unless they release a paid DLC to udpate previous version, which will probably not happen)

This is just a shot in the dark, but seeing how CP had a relatively solid reception last EVO, maybe the localization will be fast this time around, so that NA will get it in time for the tournament? Though I'm hoping fast won't mean rushed.

I'll likely still get CPEX but this time around I'll wait for the NA version. That gives me plenty of time to conclude whether or not it's worth it for me.

I'll probably get it just for the sake of having BlazBlue on PS4. I feel like we're in an abusive relationship. Yeah, we know it's bad and we shouldn't let it continue but we run back time after time.

As far as console versions of BlazBlue goes, I have never purchased one. The only BB game I have is CS2 on the 3DS (lol). I knew once CP 2.0 was announced, a home port would be made eventually. What surprised me, however, is the fact that it's also coming to PS4 and XB1. Even though all the characters I play have been made worst, I may pick this up, since GGXrd got rid of Bridget and I have no desire to purchase that game. Now it's just time to play the waiting game...

You know, the sooner you buy an ASW game the less you'll get hurt because of the revision release date. So let's buy all games on release date :v: .

That's silly. If I buy it at half the price after a month, I've gotten 80% of the game for 50% of the cost...

Glad to see that ArcSys is finally putting down some support for the Xbone. I'm not expecting it to extend to the next version of Xrd, but I would certainly appreciate if it did.

That's just sarcasm lol. Even though there is some true behind that. Some people I know bought the game like in August/October after EVO, and now they are releasing an upgrade in a new disc like seven months later from that point. That kind of sucks....buuut they are late to the party. I still remember buying MvC3 on release and 9 months later UMvC3 was coming out....i was like :vbang: . Anyway, the good thing here is that it comes to the new consoles.

would people who went from XBOX to PS3 even consider going to XBOX? It just seems financially heavy. And like you said, there's no guarantee that the next version of Xrd will be supported for XBOX, let alone any BB continuation.

If I HAD an Xbone already, I would think seriously about getting CPEX for it instead of PS3 (and assuming I didn't have a PS4).  Partly to show support, and partly because I still think PSN is a POS.   However, I do not have an Xbox One, and I have no intention of getting one, and this game does nothing to shift that.

I think ASW is just covering their bases here.  If it's cheap to port to (which it probably is, because it's basically the same architecture as the PS4) then it makes a lot of sense to just port it and let anyone who feels like picking it up on that platform do so.  People who have said the CS games "sold like crap" on the 360 are, frankly, out of their minds.  Looks like Mori actually wasn't lying when he said space was the issue on the 360 for CP, even though it's still a terrible excuse.

Well, if its anything to take comparions with, P4AU's GB size between PS3 and 360 are vastly different (PS3: 11.2GB 360: 6.63GB). Though I woudn't put this as an excuse anyways, since 360 version doesn't have the Lobby Mode as a space result, I guess.

But at least anyways, Xbox (X1) users don't get left behind. (Even if they missed Vanilla CP.)

I guess, in a way, they got off lucky. They don't have to purchase the same game twice and they get the most updated version.

Because there's no way PS3 users also own Xbox One Consoles..

I actually suspect it's pretty unlikely. :P

Anyway, NeoStrayCat - when I say it's an excuse, I mean, it's literally an excuse. How many games today have mandatory installs/downloads/whatever? They could very well just have had the 360 version require an install to the HD and decompress crap off the disc, or download it, or whatever.  They just didn't want to put in the work.

BBCPEX gives us something they haven't done since CS: individual character stories. Famitsu introduced us to Bullet's ("The Rat"), Kokonoe's ("Collision") and Kagura's ("Determination"). They all focus on the particular character's past.

The story select screen looks interesting because there's a separate tab for the new gag stories from Extend rather than them being alternate routes.

Well that's one way to expand on the content. One of the chief complaints in vanilla CP was that the newcomers (sans Izayoi) came out of nowhere and ultimately amounted to nothing unless your name was Azrael.

Having separate tabs for gag reels is a blessing IMO. CP's gag ending were...not the best I've seen of the series. But when you mentioned "from Extend" do you mean BBCSE? Because that's a little detrimental since some of CP gag reels were just repeats of the previous ones.

In all honesty though, after letting the news simmer for a bit I'm a bit more neutral for this disc re-release. On the one hand yes it does suck having to pay for another whole game which may or may not be getting a price reduction in the West and yes, I am rather weary of BB as a whole. But on the other, at least ASW is trying to give people more incentive to buy it with more content (even if it may not end up good). And you know, it's kind of a nice gesture that they're putting the game on 3 consoles altogether (with 2 being able to cross-play). I'm aware that people would rather we all be one big happy, volatile community but you know, there's nothing wrong with letting others in on the fun is there? Some people just don't like a given system y'know, even if they like the games on it. So, I think I will reserve my judgement until the coming months reveal more for it and I'll encourage everyone here (that hasn't already made up their minds of course) to do the same.

No, the CP Extend.

Of course, the screenshot is uncaptioned, so I don't really know. It seems kinda outlandish to assume it's from the previous Extend, though.

I suppose it was just me comparing it to the Teach Me Miss Litchi segments they keep giving us from previous installments, though I must confess that I do not know if they did that for CP again since I didn't even touch it.

In any event, about the only wish I have of CP Extend is that it addresses/fixes the issues that vanilla CP had. Things like incorrect grammar I can let slide, but audio not matching the written dialogue, audio skips/spikes and the mistranslations (on the Tutorials of all things) are more problematic. I'm sure there's some other stuff I am forgetting, but those are the ones that always broke my immersion with the gameplay.

I think the BB series is going to take a hiatus after this release and step aside to allow GGXrd to fully shine. We probably won't see it again until it gets its own re-imagining in Unreal Engine with 3D character models, or a crossover with GG, whichever comes first.

Sadly, I'm not expecting Jubei to be added because CS Extend never got any DLC characters.

So is this just the 2.0 patch coming to console, or is it a new balance patch entirely because I'm reading shit about it being 2.01.

2.01?

I would like to think that CPExtend is in fact 2.01 to at least warrant the name change. I wouldn't mind another update if it satisfies the playerbase.

I can't help but laugh as this is the exact conversation every year for every fighting game since Super Street Fighter 4

It's the new float glitch, BBCP 2.01 much?

I swear 2.01 only exists to fix Jin's Ice Arrow making people go back to their home planets.
