I'm having a hard time connecting the 214D after landing. Every time the move comes out as a 2D instead.

Since no one has posted these yet (which I'm rather surprised), here's some vids off Goldenrody's account.

DB Aikouka (Noel) vs 0 (Hakumen):

I can safely say I want to be DB Aikouka like Bang players want to be DORA.

And here I thought I was the only one. :toot:

I focused a lot on the Hakumen matches before, but I overlooked the Tager ones.

I have a feeling that you are executing the air D slightly too late. You have at most a couple of frames in which to pull it off. There are actually frames in the air where it's too late, and where you'll execute an on the ground attack instead.

Try only doing the cancel part without doing a followup move. You should see Noel unload her guns when she hits the ground. If you can't do that consistently, the problem is probably that the timing is off, otherwise, it is just a problem of getting the button combo in, like you say.

I've found that it's significantly easier to execute the j.D cancel if you do it after hitting the opponent with a j.C. I'm betting that the j.C attack slows her descent, and makes it so that there are more frames in which the j.D will cancel from recovery.

You have no idea how helpful it is. This video is made of win and awesome. This'll be great stuff to work on tomorrow. Optimizing my damage potential off random pokes and such. Many thanks!

Those vids made me jizz...like 9 times...each vid....

Question, is the 6C->22Cx3 into air combo only available on Hakumen/Tager? If it isn't I think I just found my new corner BnB.

I can do the landing D cancel and even a follow-up move whether it's 6B, 28D, whatever, but the problem is hitting the 214D upon landing b/c the timing is so exact between the two D presses. I just found a post you made in another thread which answers my question and I'll take your advice. I'll try holding D instead of tapping twice and see how that works. Thanks for the pointers.

It's not a match vid, but it's a pretty good, in depth combo guide (11 and a half minutes of win!)

Thought that might be helpful :D

Good stuff.

Could someone please just translate some of those Chain Revolver strings? I'm still pretty bad at picking out what is what as far as looking at the attacks in her drive D:

Could someone please just translate some of those Chain Revolver strings? I'm still pretty bad at picking out what is what as far as looking at the attacks in her drive D:

They basically have them all summed up as recipe I, recipe II, and recipe III

I = 5D>6B>5C>6B>5C>236D

II = 5D>5B>6B>5C>6B>236D

III = 5D>236D>6C>5D>5B>6B>5C>6B>236D

Just look for the corresponding roman numeral, and that will be the combo they're saying to use.

I hope that's helpful~

Ooo thanks for posting the link to the matches ShinoB. Now I can refresh my memory of what happen.

Does DB Aikouka never use Noel's drive moves? Watching those videos almost makes me want to unbind D to learn Noel better/faster instead of relying on it as a crutch.

I gotta say, not using drives for a while improved my game substantially. It helped me a lot with my mixups (which can lead into great drive chains) and I even learned a few inventive moves out of it. I also learned about how versatile her 3C is when helping me get inside and RTSD (especially in a mixup). I also got a lot of love from players for not being a drive spammer. :toot:

Agreed 100% with the above comments. Using Noels drive is actually a downside to her if you're just using it as your primary source for attacking. Its quite easy to just block and knock people out of her drive, which happened to me a lot when I first started playing. Get away from the D button at first until you learn her basics then move into putting the D move in only when its able to combo in.

Watching Aikouka, I notice he doesn't follow up his block strings ending in 2C with anything else. A lot of my game has been following 2C up with a mixup of stuff like the 3C slide, 2D overhead and the occaisional 214A - I'm guessing these, especially the last, are easily punishable and that's why I'm not seeing them that there? (I'm new to aksys stuff, so lol if this sounds very scrubby)

That's because Aikouka plays super safe and conservative. It's up to you for how you want to play. Do you want to take risks and go for the 2D overhead into 28D knowing that you can be punished? You can get huge returns by taking equally huge risks.

66C is pretty nice after 2C if: 1: The opponent is showing respect 2: Cannot really reversal 3: The opponent is not using their barrier On opponents that know about 66c 2c 66c 2c you can use that as an opportunity to use throw, 2D, or bait as part of your mixup. Btw, are there other Noel things that people want to have demonstrated or explained? I could make more videos.
