Blazblue Player Database

By MashThat5A, in Home,

Similar to the one created by ChosenNinja for Guilty Gear, a Blazblue Player Database is now available to help find players for matchup training.
If you would like to add your player info, please fill out the form here
The full list of players can be found here

Read more below.

The info needed to fill out the form is fairly self explanatory. The video should be a fairly recent video in order to help people find players of similar skill level. If you save the link at the end of the form, you can edit your responses if you want to update your video or change your main / subs.

If you have any feedback, questions, or info change requests (but seriously save the link), leave them here or contact me on Twitter at @MashThat5A

Arc System Works is holding a vote to include the fans' favorite character colors from previous versions in BBCF. The top 3 color picks across all games for each character will make it into BBCF.

Read more to find out how to vote! Credit to GallantAndZeros and iantothemax for the article.

Apparently the famitsu article lists the characters in traditional order. Click the link for the character to vote for their colors at the bottom of the page.

My favorite character color aside from gold Hakumen was always a mix of gold, black, and red from BBCT. It had the same gold sheen as my normal all-gold color but made it look natural.

I don't see the black/red/gold color amongst the CT colors, so it must not be including any DLC colors.

About

Now you're wondering why I've brought you all here. The reason why I decided to create this google doc is basically for the sake of being able to find players for the matchups that you lack or wish to get more experience in. Another reason is to find and identify many of the people who play these characters to varying degrees that many people may not even know of. Since starting Guilty Gear (with Xrd) I had to play a lot of catch up and had a pretty difficult time finding certain matchups. Even OG's lack experience against some of the newer characters who can give trouble, but I noticed specifically harder for a lot to find Bedman, so hopefully an open google doc where people can input their own information will create a much quicker way to find what you're looking for. There was about 1,000 people at EVO this year for Xrd and I'm hoping at least 40 or 50% can find this doc and input info. So just keep sharing.

Also as I'm starting to notice. This is a great way to help identify people that are near your scene that you didn't even know existed. Very great way to start having people come to your casuals so hit em up.

Rules

There are none! Anyone from anywhere is encouraged to add their name no matter how good you think you are.

Videos

I think one of the biggest things when selecting someone to contact from the list will be the thought of "who can I learn from/who is good/who is around my level" and so on. Instead of having something like a "indicate here if you have a Dustloop trophy" or "get some known player here to vouch for me" type of deal. I think the best way to indicate whether you want to fight someone or if someone is good or not is by watching them play. Even if you don't plan on fighting them or not, I think everyone has something cool to show that you can put into your own game and possibly make it even better. If you've ever been to a tournament/been on someone's stream/stream yourself you more than likely have some footage of yourself somewhere (hopefully recent or at least reflects your skill now). If you don't, now might be the time to ask to be on someone's stream or record yourself or travel.

A long term goal for this doc (first time doing something like this) is to constantly see players updating their videos showing all the new tech that they've been learning or just simply how much better they've been getting. If you want players to critique your gameplay, you can tell them to see me (you) in this doc. It should help people that don't have popular streams or Youtube or overall just not a popular player get some help in some way. Pretty motivating if people are asking you to play them as well once you start to get better.

Try not to post yourself just curb stomping someone just obviously weaker than you I think most people can tell what's going on lol.

If you want to post a video from a twitch archive, you can just let me know. Send me the link and where you want people to start watching it, (the timestamp). (Shoutouts to @logichole 's stream by the way for my video) (Also shoutout to @choysauce85 as well. This is a super important part of the doc and I probably wouldn't have thought about it right away had he not mentioned it to me)

I'm sure most get this. Just a way to contact you of course.

City/State/Country

If you live outside of the US. Just put the area you live in within your country and then your country.
So i've said enough, here's the doc, and please share to everyone! Let me know any feedback.

TENMA0105 translated Nage's thoughts on combating nervousness and utilizing blue burst effectively. He may be talking about GG, but it's good advice for FG players across the board.

Arc System Works has announced the last loketest for Xrd's latest update will be held starting today, July 30th, and will last for the following week.

Revelator adds returning character Johnny and newcomer Jack-O. In previous loketests, these characters didn't have voices, but now their voice actors have been revealed. Hiromi Igarashi will be playing Jack-O, and Wakamoto Norio will once again be playing Johnny. Slayer's previous CV, Iemasa Kayumi, has been replaced, as he sadly passed away last year. His new CV will be Takaya Hashi.

In addition to the new characters, Revelator has some new stages and UI changes, but the game balance is supposed to remain largely the same as 1.1. This weekend will reveal whether or not that's still the case.

Finally, the loketest also will include Sparring Mode as well as Episode Mode, which presumably lets arcade players experience story content from Xrd.

For more info, check out ASW's official loketest page here: http://www.arcsystemworks.jp/index.cgi?eid=1622

A game corner anticipated to have a playable version of BBCF and Xrd Revelator at ARC REVO CUP 2015 has been canceled. It may or may not have had an updated version of BBCF after the first loketest, but either way it would have given the opportunity to learn more about the game.

But it's become a victim of ARC REVO CUP 2015's own success: "The reason for cancellation is due to the sheer volume of people we anticipate coming to the event, will create too much congestion."

The prize money for the games at ARC REVO CUP 2015 have also been announced.

    • I definitely had to build a lot of muscle memory but also hand strength in my left hand. I don't play WASD keyboard movement games so when I was first starting on leverless I literally did not have the hand strength to consistently move my fingers quickly for motions, and my hand got tired easily. That took some getting used to.   I've been on leverless for ~3 years now, and although there's still quite a lot of stuff I'm better at on stick (which I played on for 14 years, so it would be surprising if I could close the gap quickly!) I generally prefer it overall and can do most of my stuff equally well or better. The only thing I really struggle with is very fast and clean half circle motions.   I play on an ergonomic ver~l leverless controller now. It's the most comfortable controller I've ever used, and is much easier on my aging hands than anything else I've used. I still play some games on stick but I very strongly prefer my vertical leverless for most stuff.
    • I had actually made a thread about D&B on the Shmups.System11 Forums a while back, but nobody responded.   I actually do not own this game as of yet but it looks interesting and has some connections to Guilty Gear and BlazBlue, so I thought it might be fun discussing it as a topic.   I technically disagree with Ishiwatari’s view that Azure Grimoire and the Tome of Origin are the same book, but from a creative non-lore standpoint I guess you could say they are similar.   Someone also pointed out “William” who seems to share a similar hobby to Axl Low.   An interview with Ishiwatari seems to suggest that his writing is based on a “possible past” and a “possible future” and that D&B is set in the former (with GG’s plot I assume as the latter).   Anyway just think of this as a catch all thread for Damon & Baby!
