Arcana Heart 3 New Thread: Gameplay, Netplay, Etc.
redsilversnake replied to furix's topic in Misc Fighter Central
This weekend counts as next week? Anyway, hope there's footage. Maybe a changelist as well before it actually starts. -
Mori thought it sounded cool.

Nah. The series will end with everyone but Terumi and Relius alive, with Nine reverting from Phantom and just needing something easily obtained to sustain herself while she and Jubei get back together with Kokonoe, Trinity staying with Luna and Sena, Valkenhayn continuing to serve Rachel, and Hakumen roaming the world. Everyone's happy in one big flowery ending with only a tinge of bittersweetness. Calling it now, Heaven's Feel True End all over again.

It was a tournament Testament put together to free Justice, yes. Anyway, you guys just lack anime experience. I, on the other hand, have been exposed to so much, BB's plot makes perfect sense to me. Just up your anime levels and you will understand everything~

Gaiz, stop. Metal's dumb might be contagious. -
That looked more like she hit during the start-up.

They did not. Extend feels about the same as the other CS iterations, while P4A is more comparable to Arcana Heart 3, which had probably ASW's best netcode.

[CP] News & Gameplay Discussion (Old)

They never said the home version was 30% done; that was referring to the arcade version back when they announced it. All that was said about the port was that it was in the planning stage. -

Those two are in Texas, Aksys is in California. Not likely to happen. Granted, IIRC, Mignogna flew out to Cali for a role in Bleach, but I'm pretty sure that's rare. -

IIRC, someone from Aksys said it would be infeasible for them. Probably something to do with them having only 1/20 the budget Capcom USA has. lol ur funny -

GG!!! ...Is a game I'm really bad at. :< -
I don't see where people are coming from concerning the netcode. Granted, I only played it for two days before I suddenly couldn't find anyone to play, but I only had one match that was noticeably bad. Rest of the time, it was as good as I usually got with BB or P4A.

Few hours at most, actually, since Japan is in the future. -
Liz is definitely not 5:5. I haven't played in a while (stick's getting dual-modded), but in the last few days I played, I was becoming increasingly convinced that Labrys simply cannot get in on her unless the Liz player just outright fucks up or gets read. All of her B normals alone are good at keeping Labrys out, and the fact that she freely gets meter when her meter options are better than most of Labrys' means you're often at her mercy. You're right that her blockstrings are pretty poor and usually not that hard to react to, but she more than makes up for it at neutral. I would also disagree about Kanji and Akihiko. As far as I can tell, those are her only even MUs. Kanji, largely because of anime grappler syndrome, but even with Akihiko, although he'll get more damage more regularly, neither of his Persona normals are that good in general, j.B usually outspaces him (though you do indeed need to be wary of his 2B), and his DP isn't quite as good as certain others. All in all, I'd just say it's more of a momentum-based MU than a slightly bad one.

How's my stick coming along, FlameIce? -
Not really. Looking at the game as it's progressed, it needs a lot of work, because the more you look into it, the more you realize how lazily it was made. CS1 was indeed a step forward from CT, but it's far from the best iteration of the series. You say it was well balanced, but you can only say that if you forget just how strong Litchi and Bang were, as well as how weak the bottom characters were. In terms of balance, CS2 was much better, as the weaker characters became more viable, the previous top tiers didn't get hit that hard, and the new top characters weren't too bad to deal with (for the most part, anyway). Some characters didn't come out of it for the better, but that's just the nature of the genre. Extend was a step back in comparison, but even then, it's better than P4A. I won't argue that P4A is less fun than Extend (as my having fun with Labrys is the only reason I haven't dropped it), but it's weak in comparison to ASW's other big titles.

Chie definitely has an advantage against Labrys. Her normals do have shorter reach on average, but they're also generally better, making it even harder for Labrys than usual at footsies. Yukiko also has an advantage because Labrys has no real answer to zoning. She does have 236AB, but it's unidirectional and the risk-reward ratio is usually skewed more towards risk. Naoto, I wouldn't really say has that much of an advantage over Labrys. Her zoning isn't really that strong, making it much easier to get in on her than Yukiko. Plus, she has low health (which is obviously bad against Labrys), few ways to get good damage without an SMP loop, and, AFAIK, her setups and resets tend to be either gimmicky or predictable. She does tend to do better at air-to-air against Labrys, but that's one of her few real advantages. Shadow Labrys' Persona does get broken easier than any other character's, but as long as she has it and isn't on the defensive, she's in control more often than Labrys is. She has much better space control, actual oki, etc. She isn't one of the worst MUs, but she does give Labrys more of a challenge than some.

Anyone playing GG tonight? I wanna improve at it (see: be able to play it decently) before the PSN version comes out. -
http://www.siliconera.com/2011/07/01/were-about-halfway-through-the-blazblue-saga/ Mori says here that there will be one more game after CP to fully wrap up the story. As for CP finishing the stories of S7 and the Six Heroes, I think that's from one of the Famitsu articles; you can find links to translated parts in the news thread, I believe.
