GG2: Overture Story Translations (**Updated w/ Sin's!)
redsilversnake replied to Kitsoru's topic in Zepp Museum
Concerning BladeofJustice's write-up, it's honestly better to take it with a good amount of salt. Ishiwatari's birthplace is indeed South Africa, but that doesn't mean he was raised there; it's entirely possible that his parents moved to Japan not long after, or that they were just visiting and he happened to be born there. And even if he were raised there, that doesn't necessarily mean he was exposed to the nature of apartheid, especially if he didn't stay there until he was old enough to comprehend it. So unless he himself says otherwise, it's better to look at Blade's post as akin to headcanon, as, if anything, he's more likely to have been influenced by anime, since he's been open about its influence on the series and there are titles predating the first game with similar themes. -

Scenario and Scenario Writer are two different positions. Also, Mori isn't even the only one credited for Scenario in the credits for any game; it's him and three other people. Then there's this, from CT Reconstruction: -

He doesn't. If you pay attention to the credits, someone from Nitro+ is credited for the script. Any writing Mori himself does would be the story outline, not any of the text you see in the actual game. -

Advance input could go either way, but I'm hoping they include teching via button-hold, because I've long felt that mashing to tech is more counter-intuitive than it should be. Also, what's ST? I've seen it mentioned before, but I have no idea what it is. -

AC+ only had two endings per character. X+ and the pre-AC XX games were the ones with three for each character. -

Aksys didn't do Extend. ArcSys localized it themselves. -
Well, as an atheist, I prefer just trying to yomi them. :P Seriously, though, it seems that a lot of Aegis players online tend to follow rote blockstrings in Orgia mode, so it's not too hard to block their mix-up as long as you know what pattern they prefer. Better ones will try to, well, mix it up, but the average one will typically just blow their Orgia meter, so they either won't get as good a combo if they do manage to hit you or will try to back off to deactivate, and neither is as bad as the alternative. lolwut? 5AAA is no frametrap. Most of the cast can DP or even just use 5A to hit Labrys in the start-up, even without IB.
-
I remember the only time I ever used BI in a match, it was on accident. I think I was trying to do 214214D, but my hand slipped and I hit A instead. Luckily for me, though, my opponent was apparently unfamiliar with the move, so he actually tried to burst it, which just led to me winning the round. I was laughing so hard afterward. I haven't really had much luck with 5DD, but yeah, I too have had a surprising amount of success with the tsurugi tech Eshi posted. Mostly on netplay, granted, but it also helped in the one offline tourney I've entered. It doesn't seem useful against delayed techs, though. Need to find something for that.
-
You don't even really need to do that, though. Zio is really easy to jump over, and the recovery leaves Narukami quite open. I feel ya, man. /freetooverheadsandthrows

Mix-up is indeed one of Mitsuru's weaker points, but that's pretty much her only real flaw. Zoning and keepaway aren't the same thing. There is some overlap at times, but they ultimately serve different purposes, and none of those moves can be classified as zoning. Most of them are also ass at neutral; a low j.D does have its uses, but her other Persona normals and 5B tend to be bad ideas, while her sweep is pretty risky outside of blockstrings. 5C is good, but not her best. Her lack of range isn't really an issue against Labrys, since she can close distances well enough and her moves come out faster. Those are indeed good normals, but those alone don't make him better at neutral than Mitsuru or Chie. Mitsuru's is simply the best in the game, while Chie's is either on par with his or somewhat better.
-
...Labrys can zone Chie? wut? Last I checked, Labrys can't zone anyone. I honestly don't see how you could come close to even thinking anything like that. Anyway, I'd hardly say Narukami bodies Labrys at neutral the way Chie does. In some respects, they're both equally bad for her, but the only thing I can think of that Narukami has better than Chie at neutral is his 2B. Otherwise, Chie's normals are generally better, and she has a somewhat better risk-reward ratio.
-
I dunno, I wouldn't say he's any worse than Mitsuru, just bad in a different way. It doesn't seem like he dominates as much at neutral, but compensates for it with his one-button oki BS. I'd agree that Chie is worse, since she both dominates at neutral and has a 5D as good as Narukami's, but he and Mitsuru are equally bad, IMO. @toan: You're probably just playing a lot of flowcharters, and Mitsuru's way easier to deal with if the player's just flowcharting.
-
Zero. That's what happens when you're one of the worst characters in the game, if not the worst. No Mitsuru?
-
5C is indeed a better meaty, but it's more limited, especially if the opponent up-backs. It's not really any better than the stuff Eshi's posted. I'd say to only use it if you land guillotine rather than sweep.

Alternatively, it could mean that they want to only play their friends who are on their skill level rather than letting in randoms who might be better than them. Although I'd argue there's probably no one reason why there are so many private rooms, I doubt this reason is less common than others. In this sense, PSN would be the more unfriendly one. -

Not according to Kamiya. He says whether or not it gets ported to a Sony or MS console is up to Nintendo, and the chances of that are...well, I don't think I need to say. And yeah, CP will almost certainly see a PS3 release. ASW most likely won't risk 5-6 months of sales for a console that doesn't even have a price yet. -
Dizzy's one of the characters who got no changes in 1.10.
-
Mori said that Izayoi is supposed to be the easiest of the new characters to pick up. But yeah, according to Stunedge/Ho-chan, she's not really that easy. You're not. Very few Izayois we've seen have done well, and the JP BB community seems to regard her as pretty weak.

Unless it turns out like BBCP's first loketest (I think that was the one where people mentioned it was too hard to get footage), it should be possible. Examu is apparently on good terms with ASW, but who knows whether or not they'll lend some of that infamous Arc CopĀ® work. And yeah, Examu putting out an official changelist the day before would be ideal, but again, who knows.
