As far as I know, no. I want to believe he posted that because I asked him about that directly yesterday.

[Xrd] News & (Theoretical) Gameplay Discussion
SoWL replied to Shinjin's topic in Guilty Gear General
It's been a while since I played AC, so I can't really judge the difference in the gameplay flow between that and Xrd. However, I can easily tell when the flow feels slow or unnatural, especially after playing loads and loads of different games. And Xrd is right there in the sweet spot where it takes no time for me at all to get used to it: you just put your hands on the stick and go to town right away. And that, I believe, is more important than whether or not it's as close to AC as possible. -
That's basically the new take on the current 5D RC 5D, is it? Can't you do something more damaging, like 5D 623B RC 5D 623C into stuff?
-
Nah, you're probably thinking about a completely different character from a completely different game
-
What's wrong with using the current VAs for that theoretical project? You know, like they do in Xrd?

Don't see any major mistakes in the changelog translation, the Bios changes might mean that the gaps are larger between the hits unless it's the OD version, but I had my doubts about that one, too. I might translate the rest of the article later, even though I only wanted to translate the changelog.

It requires hitting the opponent while they're at a certain height, so I found it easier to just look at the screen and hit the button when you see them at that height rather than trying to ingrain the timing into my muscle memory. That's honestly the best way I can explain it other than "You must hit it rather quickly, but not right after the 2C".

Well damn, I was translating that Relius article as requested in the general subforum, only to find it translated over here. You better repost that over there

Dengeki Bunko FIGHTING CLIMAX IGNITION Gameplay Discussion Thread

Not Dengeki Bunko (hell, not even a light novel), so better hope for a whole different game. Now all those memories of people asking for Shingeki no Kyojin characters are coming back to me. -
[Xrd] News & (Theoretical) Gameplay Discussion

Some extra preorder bonuses are being revealed: AmiAmi gives you an Elphelt mousepad along with the usual vocal collection CD. No, not that kind of mousepad. http://www.amiami.com/top/detail/detail?gcode=GAME-0012761 I almost want to buy it, but I already preordered the English collector's edition, and I'd rather have the digital JP version so I can play it right away. -
Man, I'm so jealous of you guys who can ignore people with 1 and 2 bars and still have decent competition to choose from

What exactly did she gain to become a real character? Damage? Just because she was worse than most of the cast never meant she was hopelessly bad.

Yes, the one that has to be fixed. Did you read his post wrong or something?
-
Meterless 5k combos? Yes please.

After a short training session, it seems that the wiki page can be made even better by fixing some errors and adding more info. It'd also be nice to have the wiki and the baseball thread match each other, though I guess we won't even need a thread at that point. Here's a short list of things I think are worth noting on the page. - The ball count explanation is wrong: you have to get your bat attacks blocked, not block the enemy attack. - This might be just because I know nothing of baseball, but I assumed that scoring a run clears all the bases, even though it doesn't. It doesn't help that homeruns do clear the bases. Maybe the wording should be clarified a bit? - Speaking of which, the wiki doesn't explain the homeruns. - Even if it's a gimmick, it's worth mentioning that Full Count gives FC to bat moves. - It seems that Clean Hits on B normals also slightly increase pushback. At least that's the only explanation I found behind me dropping the usual 5B 2B 2AB OMC 5B 2B combos while in Victory Cry - Auto-combo automatically scores a Clean Hit on 236A (if in Victory Cry) and gets a homerun on 236236A. Probably worth mentioning just so people don't try to get a Clean Hit off the super. - Listing possible trajectories of reflected fireballs might be important to explain Junpei's long-range game. It's usually pretty obvious, but stuff like homeruns shooting fireballs upwards might cost games unless you know about it. - Speaking of which, if you reflect a fireball with a super, it gets stronger. - AOA~C counts as two bat hits, which isn't that obvious with the current wording. - There's that Persona side switch with 2D that Xie mentioned, though I'm not sure if it's worth writing about on the wiki. It probably is. - FA has invuls on both the start-up and the swing. - Air throw is a bat attack! Like, I know the sprite shows as much, but it actually scores runs! - The supers don't require Victory Cry to score Clean Hits. - The Awakening super's follow-ups are all the same (as in, you can press B and D and still score a homerun). - Junpei actually can reflect multi-hit projectiles, as you can easily test with Yu's EX Zio. He can't reflect stuff like Ziodyne because of some other condition, probably hitbox-related (can't reflect anything when it's already inside of you or something like that). Even 236A can't reflect that.

But I love its wall bounce for midscreen combos. In any case, if this loketest change is still here, they simply switched Piercing and Wadcut's properties, so 5DD now wall-bounces, while 41236C 236D wall-splats in the corner (probably even on H1).

Nothing wrong with small updates fixing small bugs, however amusing they might be. I do wonder what changed about Jin to allow that, though.
-
Yeah, I noticed that, too, and I love that change. The only reason you wanted to Explode Engage before was to score a kill from DP; even switching sides in the corner wasn't really worth losing all your Heat-Up levels. But now that we can actually combo from it on mid-screen, it's a perfectly valid tool that I can see myself using quite often. You can cancel D into 623C without meter, yes. It seems that it's mostly used to switch sides, and if you happen to be in the corner, you can score some nice H0 combos with that. Could you elaborate on what you mean by "Heat 2 Cutting Shears RC"? As in, H2 623B 22D RC? Yeah, as explained above, you don't need to RC that, either.

Dengeki Bunko FIGHTING CLIMAX IGNITION Gameplay Discussion Thread
SoWL replied to Setsuna's topic in Misc Fighter Central
Yes there is. Also, I'd rather have DLC than buy a whole new game just for a few more characters -
Which we don't actually have yet. Unless you mean that they have to write that far in advance, which supports our point.
-
We can try asking Mori directly, but there's no way to see it on the arcades, I'm afraid.
-
Counter-hit 6C in a corner? Yeah, I wouldn't worry about that one.
-
I think he was just experimenting with various stuff, hence the drops. I'd have honestly done the same if I could jump straight into the new version.

What people need to realize is that ASW can't just snap their fingers and bring the game to the US like that. There are the usual costs of making a console port, then the localization costs on top of that, then the infrastructure issues (they do have to bring the game over the goddamn ocean)... Sure, you can make it so they release it at the same time as the Japanese version, but that's pretty much only if they deliberately delay the Japanese release, and that makes little to no sense from the business standpoint (why bother, just so the US doesn't feel left out?). And maybe, just maybe, the world actually doesn't revolve around the States.

We do need a whole lot of new 2.0 threads, including the video one, but I'd like to close the lid on the 1.1 video archive first, even if no one might need it anymore. The problem is, I got about 2 months worth of footage to go through because I'm a lazy POS, but I hope I can get done with that over this weekend. After that, we either wait for Prototype to make the new threads and move the old ones to the archive, or we just do that by ourselves with his permission.
