  1. I don't do much combo's from combo videos myself. I only do the most practical ones that I'll hit 90% of the time. TK's are very important if you want to be a good Lambda. People like Riot_Squad, piowah, Yaya, and I are crazy about TK's and feints. Without TK's and feints, Lambda's mix-up and mind games are virtually non-existant. Sounds like the next step for your Lambda is to learn a few combo's that you can pull off most of the time. Online, I don't even bother with TK > 5DD. In fact, I see those types of combo's fail more than I see them succeed. Also, try jump cancelling 6B or 6A into a TK, rather than the generic 2C. Once you condition your opponent to block high after a jump cancellable move, you start to do block-strings filled with lows instead. Because of your location, you should try fighting piowah and Riot_Squad more. Riot plays pretty much the same as me, except a bit more patient and smart.

  2. If you stay blocking, you will get guard-crushed. If the Lambda does 214D~C, 5D will cancel it out, and even might give you a 5D CH 236C. Lambda does have mix-up if you let her. Why are there monsters like Riot_Squad, Yaya, and Murasa out there? Anyways, one of the worst moves in this match-up is 4D. It's a free ticket in to melee. If you can't handle Lambda's "mix-up", Counter Assault or IB and get away. Play patiently, and pay attention to Lambda's jump cancellable normals.
  3. If I do 214D~C, you can 5D to cancel it out. Pulsr vs Xie Me vs Ragna Beginner Melee Tutorial If you can implement what's talked about in the tutorial, even if it's just the beginner stuff, you'll become much more dangerous close range.

  4. I saw Richmond, BC, Canada, and saw that you have PSN. Say no more XD. There's another player online who lives in Vancouver, so we can have a super lagless room. Thanks for sticking up for me in the Lambda forums. Some people on DL just theory fight without actually trying it. I'll show you how melee Lambda works ^.~ Mind if I add you on PSN, or do you not play BB much?

  5. Vary your options after GF more. All I saw was 720C / 360B / AC. Try doing 360A more, and if your opponent is predictable, you can even 423B and bait a DP for a free 720. Don't B-sledge so much, and don't do pink throws. Vary your block-strings as well. One time I saw a rinse-repeat 5C > 5D > 236B. Maybe learn a few more tech traps. Learn to IB 720 as well. Sometimes you don't even have to IB to find a hole in a block-string, but IB's are preferred. All in all, if you learn those, you'll be a much better Tager.
  6. Moved discussion from the video thread. That's the problem. Rin wanted me to use TK feints in a Ragna match. In matches where I want to win, I play more safe. I hardly ever rushdown a competent Ragna. On wake-up, I think it's safe. They'd have to know a TK(feint) is coming to reaction super/DP. 236D... Is alright once in a while. Doesn't work randomly if the opponent is good. They've gotta be conditioned, but they can still reaction jump away. I hardly use it, but I do wish it was a bit faster. Against Ragna - you should never rushdown Ragna. Heck, I have more success rushing down Tager than I do Ragna.
  7. Good point. I'll be putting up 35 videos over the next 2 days. Some are quite good. 10 Lambda mirrors, 8 Tager-Lambda, 8 Jin-Lambda, 2 Hazama-Lambda, 2 Mu-Lambda, 2 Litchi-Lambda. The rest are just Tager matches.
  8. 6B is special and jump cancellable. Lambda can super flash buffer her 214A. 632146D doesn't work for her, though. Basically, any of Lambda's special cancellable moves will let her super flash buffer 214A. I don't recommend doing IB 236236B if she's doing a bunch of special cancellable moves. Which includes her 3C and 6C.
  9. Silly me. I don't know if anyone else knew this, but I hadn't seen it written anywhere. CH TK > 5A > 6A > TK loop You don't need the RC for CH TK. Builds really good meter, and it does an easy 4.5K+. It's not practical, sadly. I don't think there's any way anyone can hit-confirm a CH TK. Unless there's some move that has huge recovery, and huge CH frames.
  10. If the Lambda doesn't catch on to using 214D a lot, then you can usually get away with 3C. Be careful, though, because Lambda's 214D is huge (lol) damage, CH or not. If the Lambda charges her 214D~C, you can use Mak's level 3 projectile. If you have 50 Heat, and they're doing 214D or 214D~C, you can reaction BBS it. I used 236B a bit too much here, and 214D spam got punished. My mistake.
  11. I agree, but I agree with Zong as well. I miss 4.7K meterless off a CH TK (lol). It's pretty funny. You can usually get away with spamming 214D while they're in the corner. You can get a clean hit into the loop, and some characters can't do anything. Say you're fighting Lambda, rather than punish whiffed D swords with dashing 5DD 236B's, I would run up and exploit Lambda's crap recovery. Not to mention Lambda has like the worst DP in the game, and it's so easily baited. Any little mistake Lambda makes is an easy 3K off 5B. There's different ways to do everything, and I just like to keep my options open. If melee and zoning don't work, I just stick to zoning.
  12. Of course XD Just make sure he doesn't show anyone else.

  13. Be patient. Passive-aggressive I suppose. Empty jump, and IB her 6DD/2DD and air-dash right after. The Lambda will probably jump cancel those, or cancel into 214D. Any time Lambda whiffs a sword, rush in. The recovery on her swords are horrible. Jumping up high and BEing is not the answer to 214D(~C). If the Lambda falls for that, well then they're doing something wrong.
  14. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! Do I get to give you some birthday beats??? Or are you going to just 5B me lol Have a good day!

  15. Oh. Here you are XD.

  16. Here's some nice block-strings: 6A > 5B > 2B > 5C > 2C > j.cancel 6A > 5B > 2B > 3C > 5D > j.cancel X > 5B > j.cancel X > 6B(first hit) > 236A X > 6B > DP (if they try to punish) X > 2C > 3C X > 2C > j.cancel > j.2C > j.236A X > 5C > 6C > 236A X > 5C > 6C > 5D j.cancel > j.B/j.2C > j.236A j.cancel > j.2C > RC > j.66 > j.B > Land > more pressure 6B > RC > 6B 6B > RC > 3C > oki Remember to negative edge 5D so it becomes a primer breaker/combo extender. You're welcome ^.^ I'm actually going to try and sub Mu. Besides Tager, I actually don't even know any other character well. But Mu is just so similar to Lambda that I may as well learn her.

  17. Good block-strings require good "openers". Good openers would be things like 5A, 2A, 6A, and 5B. While in the air, most moves are overheads, and none are low. After landing, people typically do a low. Instead, try doing an overhead-filled block-string. After landing, do a 6B. 6B can cancel into into her DP on either hit, so if they block and try to punish, you can DP it. Or you could do a 236A to continue pressure. All these things require you to know your opponent. Will they try to punish you? Or will they play safe and try to block? Last 2 things. Mu's j.B and j.2C are decent overheads. But j.2C is "unsafe" on block. You can cancel both into j.236A. 3C is "unsafe" on block. Cancel 3C into 5D, and jump cancel 5D into more pressure. Whenever you jump cancel things, you can IAD away instead of continuing pressure.

  18. A bit of advice, coming from my specialty on block-strings and breaking down defence. With Mu, instead of doing 2B > 5B > 2B > 3C, try doing things like 6A > 5B > 2B > 2C > j.2C, or X > 3C > 5D > j.2C. The secret to good mix-up is a variety of normals, and jump cancelling of abstract normals. Everyone jump cancels 2C. Maybe jump cancel 5B/6A instead? It's unexpected. In pressure with Noel, I do things like 6B > 5D > 236D. People expect a 3C after 6B, but I elongate pressure by doing unexpected things. With Mu, this translates into doing 236A or 214D (if you push them near a Stein) to "reset pressure".

  19. Perhaps it would increase the number of reps. But a normal TK RC loop would work anyways. I'm not sure if it gives any sort of proration bonus or frame data bonus, other than giving some extra frames of untechable time.
  20. It might be better to have someone like Zeromus host. A very good mid-point, and there aren't many Canadian players, so an American host is preferred XD I'm sure you've probably fought them before, but LostSoul526 and Kyou-Chan are really amazing. The BBVlog match was a bit strange. It was me dropping combos and whiffing moves, but everyone liked it. I was playing at around 85% =/ Usually I don't rush-down Ragna, and my melee is much stronger, trust me. Thanks for the compliments though. I'd love to see how great you are now!

  21. Troll / Close / American pro Matches will all be done with my camera. For typical matches, it'll be done with my lap top. I'm going to take you up on your challenge for a combo video. The problem with combo videos is that everyone steals the same combos and puts them in their video. Very redundant. These are going to be practical combos for breaking down defence, mind games, and fancy combos that no one uses. In other words, it will be unique ^.~

  22. lol, I was fiddling around with the camera trying to find the best set-up, because I don't have a useful tri-pod. Looks like the camera will only be used for really special matches =P It's just so much easier and convenient to use my laptop. I'm going to sleep for 4 hours then I'll start recording XD

  23. I thought we were going to drop this. I'll do whatever I want to do. Where's videos of your Lambda? What if it's not a TK feint? Is it better then? Do you expect your opponent to be able to see a TK feint, and think that they're going to punish it? What if I just 4B or 214A their punish or something? I use it because I like it. Are you trying to tell me to stop using it so much? Sorry, but I really don't care. I'm not going to change, and you aren't going to either.
  24. Whoops sorry. I was away for a while, so I couldn't complete your request. It's finished now though. Check out the Lambda 101 Basics and Commands. Hopefully I helped.

  25. I am a scrub =P How did you do the "CLICK FOR LOLIS!"? I want to put up a url, but have it say something else. Thanks!
