Actually I was the first one I head say this, so maybe you heard it from me :P But yeah, that is why Mu is my new "I don't feel like trying very hard, but I wanna do 4k anyways" sub.

LK's GAMEPLAY RELATED QUESTIONS ONLY question thread
LunaKage replied to Lord Knight's topic in Archive
I'd still like to point out that I'm on the BB side of the argument, but I play a shit character that has a bad matchup against TAGER of all characters, so I'm a little Jaded on CS1. I'm sure if I played a mid tier character I wouldn't be nearly as pissed off everytime I sat down at an event and saw my opponent pick Ragna, or Hazama, or anyone really. Anyways I guess I should get back onto the thread's topic. LK how do you feel about Litchi in CS2? Are you thinking of picking up a sub? Do you think its better to play multiple characters? Do you prefer Asian women over the rest like most weeabos like myself do? -
LK's GAMEPLAY RELATED QUESTIONS ONLY question thread

To be completely honest I would rather fight Sagat in Vanilla SF4 with Sakura than fight Bang or Litchi as Noel in CS1. -
I thought about that too Mac, I just pray that we're wrong, and if we are correct, at least I'll be top tier.

I share this feeling with you honestly, looking at CS2 high level play it looks legit as fuck, almost like every character is viable, I haven't really seen a rape take place that was due to the matchup and not skill, I think the worst matchups in the game will probably be Tager/Mu due to the fact that Mu can zone and when she gets close she can space him really tight, and I'm sure you guys saw that Tager specific combo in the corner with her, he will probably have a tough time with her. Noel looked scary before I touched her, and when I finally did get my hands on her, I was sold on how she can be a force, however I do know her shortcomings as well, she has been and always will have a rough time with Zoners and characters that can space well, except this time around I don't think the match up will be quite as bad, since when Noel gets close her opponent's will start pissing themselves. The whole "Corner combo only" feel of the game also helps imo, because it makes the game more focused on positioning than landing just one hit for all of your life. The heat cooldown is another factor that caught me off guard, it is actually noticeable here, so if you wanna do any long 150 heat combos, you need to have a PhD to figure out what moves will prorate well enough to keep the combo going long enough after cooldown to stack that heat. All exaggerations of course, but my first impressions of the game are very positive, like it could be something BB players can be proud of being a part of. Also, my apologies if I've offended anyone tonight, I've been up since 6pm Monday, and for some reason its almost midnight on Tuesday and I haven't passed out from sleep deprivation and hunger since I haven't eaten either. My point is, I'm not exactly filtering the shit I say right now :P

Oh so you mean will bad players be able to abuse her tools without knowing how to really use her? No, probably not. Will they be able to win and or get lucky wins due to BS? Possibly, I still don't think she can top CS1 Ragna in that regard though.

You need to be a little more specific than that, advanced edge could mean a lot of things. Mac, if he's not on the list I haven't tried him.
-
I haven't tried all of the cast yet, but from the ones I have tried I'd say the newb tierlist would go something like this: SS: D mashing Noel(Just use 2C guys, promise, 2D is the only move Drive mashing Noels will use now) S: Mu A+: Jin A: Legit Noel(Hard to place her on this list because I'm not a newb with her ;w;) B+: Makoto B: Tsubaki C+: Ragna, Act Parser Spamming Lambda C: Platinum D+: Lambda D: Inferno Divider Combos(They get their own category) Seriously, Lambda and Ragna are so different it hurt my brain stepping into training mode and not being able to do what I normally do. Tsubaki is very similar to her old self, just better, even her standard BnB off of 5B does more damage, and it's the same combo as her CS1 self. Platinum is surprisingly difficult to just pick up. Jin is harder to combo with than Mu, but he still gets dumb stuff, I broke 6k just by doing a short combo into double ice arrows into TK C Icecar, was so lulz. Noel's combos are harder than her CS1 BnBs but easier than her CS1 OMGWHEREDIDYOURHEALTHGO combos, but the plus side is, Noel only has one difficulty level for combos, she has new haida, and BnB combos, both are the same level of difficult, and aren't too far apart in damage, chances are if you get a fatal with Noel you are just going to be doing the same combo you would do if you did 2D, except it will just be harder to mess up. Makoto's combos feel the exact same except faster, and I guess some of her old combo extenders now have same move proration, not too positive on that one though, since I know nothing about Makoto, her combos are still easier than Ragna's imo though.
-
This is actually why I replaced Ragna with her in CS2, because she IS newb friendly, I mean, I only take Noel seriously, so when I do pick someone else I want to be able to mash out random hitconfirms to pull out a win. 4.5k off of 5B hype GOOO!!! To be fair though that is in the corner, midscreen she is just like Noel, needs either crouching hit or optimal/fatal starter on standing to get damage. EDIT: I'd like to point out I meant newb friendly as far as combos go, I'm sure she's much harder to actually LEARN than CS1 Ragna, still though, gotta love dem hitconfirms.

LK's GAMEPLAY RELATED QUESTIONS ONLY question thread

I don't want to seriously learn any character other than Noel, so when I enter a tourney with her, I don't expect to win, I want to see how far I can get with my shitty character, so that I can hype myself up when she becomes legit again. Only two tourneys I went to I placed 4th and 7th respectively. -
That happened in CS1.

GUYS GUYS RATE MY COMBO!!! It may even already be listed but I was just freestyling some Mu shit in CS2 and came up with this. Tested from round start position into corner on Noel: 6C(Fatal) > 214D(Wiff) > 66A > 6B > 66A > 2C > j.C > j.2C > Land > 66 > 2B > 5C > 63214C(Wall Bound) > 66A > j.B > j.C > j.2C > Land > 2B > 6A > 623C (5.1k) 6C(Fatal) > 214D(Wiff) > 66A > 6B > 66A > 2C > j.C > j.2C > Land > 66 > 2B > 5C > 63214C(Wall Bound) > 66A > j.B > j.C > j.2C > Land > 2B > 632146C (6.2k) Also, Mu is just downright easier to combo with than in CS1, just to give you guys an idea, I could barely break 3k with her in CS1, but due to increases in alot of her levels links are just easier to connect than normal, granted, for this particular combo, the Fatal helps that, but the same is true off of even her 5B starters. The 2B > Super link in particular is much much easier. Again, sorry if this may be common knowledge, but I get excited when I do big combos that I haven't seen myself before @_@
-
Yeah I noticed that too. not too big of a deal as long as people understand the error.

I don't like any other character but Noel, so Nini's argument is irrelevant to me. derp. -
LK's GAMEPLAY RELATED QUESTIONS ONLY question thread
LunaKage replied to Lord Knight's topic in Archive
I don't wanna hear it, I should be the one glaring at Mu. If you wanna get better as a Tager player, you should practice being godlike at defense, Tager gets most if not all of his damage from his opponent's mistakes, unless his opponent is Noel. -
She does good damage, but she can be dealt with, especially if you have a DP, but yeah, DO NOT get hit.
-
CS 2C was "safe" but gave us noting, since it's pushback made it's plus frames moot. It was only good for returning us to neutral most of the time, and Noel hates neutral.
-
we could give it a shot, I've had a wide range of connections from Cali, all 1bars but some were really good, others were just terrible, either way not exactly the stuff of high level play, but who knows, I'm down to mash buttons as long as its not half a second of delay.
-
Agi bro, I love you like a brother that I've never talked to, but I do believe it is that bad. I didn't used to think it was that bad either honestly, then I fought Mus that knew what they were doing, and my opinion quickly went south :C But this is a moot point anyway, I should be spending my time looking forward to CS2, I've lost all Drive to play CS1 at this point. Also, I still want to play you, where are you from? If we have a good connection I'm always looking for more Mu experience, I especially need some guys to rely on for matchup EXP when CS2 rolls around.
-
Noel doesn't have any good pokes really, also yeah we can do work in the corner, but our pressure is still bad, you can poke out of it pretty easy, our best move on block is 2C and that's only +1, plus the SoD thing is a huge guessing game on our end too, if we lose we have to start all over again from scratch at neutral, and Noel doesn't like neutral, against anyone really. Yes you do need to know the matchup, I never disputed that, its just that the matchup is really really bad for Noel.
-
I'm glad someone is on my side here, Aginor and Ve trying to blow me up ;-;
-
Well I'll have to see this then, we should play :3
-
IB5D still loses to SoD :3 I guess I can't argue with the mod in his own domain, but it is still far from even, I guess the only way to really know what I'm talking about is to experience it for yourself in the Noel's shoes.
-
It's alright, we all get salty at matchups that make us play differently than others, like with Noel every matchup is "Pray" and against Tager it is "Pray, and don't touch C or D".
-
It's pushback is horrendous for Noel, because we don't have a good long range move with short startup, we can probably IB > Short dash > 5B > 5C > 2C for no damage and no extra pressure, but at max range we can't reach you even with that, just use a tight blockstring until your 2B is just barely hitting us before you use SoD and it should be all gravy.
