  1. I can almost guarantee that somebody will be attending given that it's like the second biggest anime con in the US lol. You might just want to also ask in the CP General thread as well. Hell, StayFree will probably be sitting at the booth for Aksys like at E3.
  2. Might be trying to figure out if the XB1 will be worth porting for since they've already committed to PS4. As far as demos, I don't think they've really done that much besides having Aksys let people check out the console version of various BBs over here. Given that ASW almost always goes the loctest route as far as early previews of versions, I'd say we have a while till we get anything hands-on. As far as demos, we might get more shit at TGS at least. Since they didn't seem to have much presence at all at E3 and have always had a significantly more japan-centric marketing.
  3. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VVBcZaFTVng ??? Amane v Kaqn Ragna https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ekFud3ZmkwI ??? Amane v Kaqn Hazama Think this might be Spinking mostly because the palette and he's been on these gamechariot spotlights before. Really nice combos with level 3 and he is very good at getting 6d on somebody. Makes Amane look like the anti-dp character lol. First round of him vs Ragna is hilarious.
  4. Ya, don't feel afraid to help out if you see something. Just check the thread first so you don't double post and it's all good. Those are the currently top 2 ranked Amanes btw. I wasn't super impressed with Shima but then again his block was super hard once you see the rest of the tourney results. Jiro was pretty godlike though. Good pressure, I think he almost always got level 3 and used it well, and his hit confirms were really on point. Nu v Amane looks like a lot of fun.
  5. You basically have a few basic things. You take some sort of starter (5k,5s. j.s. whatever) and it goes from there into, generally, 3 different enders. These are: gatling into 2d>butterfly oki 5h>236h>D if you have meter 2d>236s>D if you have meter If you do the 236x>D then you can finish with a few different things into butterfly oki. Generally you'll finish with 5k>5s>5h>oki or 5k>5s>623h>oki.
  6. I don't think KI was ever really considered a 'competitive' game but I know a lot of people are looking forward to it because it was fun. I think most non-anime players right now are looking at Xrd and just thinking whether the community will be big enough for people to get into for purely money reasons like the big names atm.
  7. Seems really weird that neither Aksys nor ASW themselves would be localizing. I mean, clearly Aksys is publishing it in the US and they've done such a great job localizing previous titles. Unless maybe Aksys simply has too many titles it's currently working to do CP atm but who knows. Not super worried since the jp voices aren't likely to change so all I really care about is good text translation, but still.
  8. Wonder how quick a ps4 version of CP will take. I would really like to get a ps4 but then I'd also need to buy a ps3 for CP only basically which is a total of like 200 bucks for just that game.
  9. Well, both previous 'main' versions had very close jp and na releases iirc. So CP coming out in the US asap after Oct 24 would not surprise me.
  10. The horrors of XX Axl and 1f FRC BNBs. /shudder.
  11. She's basically the Millia of BB atm once she gets you into the corner. Not much damage but unseeable 50/50s into more of the same.
  12. Hmm, I didn't really think of it like that. I guess I'm so used to them being on their back during the slide I hadn't even considered it since the trailer style made it seem like the enemy wasn't vulnerable, I guess that is the best way I can put it. Now that you mention it like that though I guess it would be fine and could be much cooler. Actually I just realized I was linking the in game effect with the transition into Sol's introduction in my head. The actual game animation still was just a tumble where I was thinking it was just him sliding back while crouched essentially. So props to the ASW cinematic team for making that seamless enough and bad on me for the mistake lol.
  13. The problem with a lot of discussions is that they just go back and forth with nobody conceding anything and no new arguments being brought up so it just wastes 40 pages of space burying anything interesting (like that art post just now) in a heap of shit. That may be why Circ wants to not pursue it. As far as the look of the game goes, I wonder how much of it is specifically for the trailer. For example I'd personally hate to see that knockback effect from Ky's CH 6p or even those clash mechanics. But they also look like they were made simply to look cool for the trailer since it transitions immediately into Sol's intro.
  14. First thing you have to figure out is if the guys that are playing those other fighters are playing them semi-seriously or are they just guys coming in and mashing it out for fun? If the latter, there's nothing you can really do about it unless they somehow get interested in fighting games on a more serious level anyway so I wouldn't worry about it. Otherwise, start with the BB and MB players since the leap isn't quite as large. (Especially BB.) Ask them why they think GG is too hard. Once you know why they think it is hard, you can break down that part of it. And yes, you should outright tell people 'do this', especially on basic things. People aren't going to know that in GG throws are 0 or 1 frame or whatever and that 6p is often a character's good anti-air. You can also make comparison of the mechanics between games. (Fairly obvious with things like BB but stuff like EX GUard is like IB I think.) You don't need to worry about going into stuff like ID, JI, or Slashback for now.
  15. Ya, people really need to get over the mentality that GG is super hard to get into. It really isn't. FRCs and defense are the hardest part probably and 90% of NA still can't do defense =P. You can easily be middle of the pack at tournies quickly if you have fighting game experience. Most of the difficulty in getting into GG is just reasons it is hard to get into fighters as a whole. Also, GG has been able to get a better rep for itself now rather than the black sheep rep it had when it was still 'big'. This means it is the perfect game to try and draw people to airdashers with because you don't get nearly as much of the 'anime player' shit for playing GG at the moment that you would playing BB, P4A, MB, or AH for example. I'm hoping Xrd is a really solid fighter for this reason. (Though I'm not super worried given ASW's track record on new iterations.) We already have people marveling at the visuals, besides animation that is, so at least we are good there. I think with BBCP, Xrd, and P4A we have an amazing current game lineup for airdashers for people to pick and choose from as far as giving what people want. EDIT: As far as company support, I don't think we should expect any help from ASW given the past. However, if we CAN make airdashers bigger in the US they have shown recent interest in NA so we might be able to get some support finally from them. We also have amazing people like the Aksys guys if they are still working with ASW on BB and maybe now GG. Just have to remember that we gotta help ourselves first.
  16. GG1 IKs in Japan's BO1 would be hilarious.
  17. Eh, I know plenty of people who dropped I-no because of her execution requirements to be competitive even though they enjoyed her character and playstyle, which I think is a shame. Even myself play Anji mostly because he's fun but also a bit because he let's me focus on things like mind games and strategy rather than trying to get flaming yoyo setups or 1hit ensengas.
  18. I'm sure they'll keep FRCs in lol. At worst they'd make timings wider or, like Spirit said, just add the input buffer from BB/P4 to GG. FBs and slashbacks might go away though, and I wouldn't really mind if they did since slashbacks don't add much to the game even at high level and FBs don't really feel like a big deal most of the time. I'd miss HEVEN PRISON though =(.
  19. And mvc2, a game which had significantly more execution, was pulling 300. It was also a different time. Now SF4 and MVC3 are pulling triple the numbers of their predecessors at EVO and I would not be surprised if even P4 was pulling 120 at majors and that game is considered by many to be on 'life support'. That was also during the hey day of AC and FR was, iirc, considered one of the biggest GG tournaments in the country usually.
  20. To be fair, they've already gotten off this mentality. BB has had a top class (for 2d fighters) tutorial and challenge mode since CS1 iirc. The fact is also Arc doesn't really have a reason to care about anyone outside of Japan. Just not enough people stick around with their games in NA comparatively. And generally none of that is due to bad tutorials or difficulty to get into.
  21. Not really hentai, just fanservice. Both Qwaser and Mangekyuu were pretty well animated and contained a decent amount of fighting iirc though. And they've done non-echii stuff as well.
  22. I honestly can't imagine this being canonically after GG2. I just don't know how they'd keep all the old characters and I'd really hate for them to drop some of the roster. Though the possibility of seeing Valentine and Sin along with other GG2 chars in a legit fighter GG is also super tempting. Guess they could just say fuck it to storyline but I feel like they wouldn't do that given GG2. Also the Nico trailer version makes the gameplay look much better and faster.
  23. Fuck, I teared up watching that trailer. It's been too long. Given ASW's sequel progression record I'm sure the game will be great and the new look seems fine. Music already starting off awesome also. Now I want BBCP more than ever because waiting for both of these is going to kill me.
  24. A lot of the tournies are also teams though. I think I remember Elven mentioning a lot of jp players kind of being sad it was 1v1 for the arcfes.
  25. Well if it is on Twitch you'll be able to go back and rewatch at least.
