  1. I'm getting a picture of you spamming frame traps over and over and wondering why no one ever gets hit by them. Serious, frame traps are your answer to them mashing when you want to do something else. That or you are just punishing someone for being bad (mashing for no reason). for that matter, I don't think there is any game where a +1 frame advantage is gonna let you reset your pressure. It's all traps.
  2. excelence's answers are good really. The fact that you have to delay 5bb to trap with it doesn't matter. Realllllllllllly simple: I want to do X, but opponents like to do Y to beat that. If I know they might do Y, I beat it by doing Z. A frame trap isn't a trap if you aren't tempting them to press a button. ed: note that in many cases Y is "restart pressure", but could also be "throw", "do unblockable", etc.
  3. You think that was bad wait until Kiba is playing CSEX valk.. Don't drop the soap.. er don't use 5d.
  4. Yeah, I'd like to see some KibaxBJ, but conn is probably too bad. I remember seeing some daedron vs kiba way back though...
  5. 623d series has bonus proration too.
  6. possibly, but it's worth mentioning that you could 5c->6c and spend that heat on 214214d. naked 3cc rapid would lead into double iad tho. similar to cs2, probably want to do that instead if you can, and as I recall it's easier overall to punish with that than 6c was ...
  7. When I think about it, it's similar damage to CS2, but it takes 50 heat early on which can be easily burst out of and you can't add on more damage by tacking on the super at the end..
  8. damage should og even higher with an extra charge for the j236d>j214D series.. I don't think you need to do 623D to get the proration bonus.
  9. I opened my first copy today. Looks really good. I haven't played one of these since the seed games on the ps2 really, because it just won't get much play if it's on the psp for me. Can't wait till my gundam buds are in town.. Still need to get rid of my extra copy though, seriously..
  10. I got one of my copies through fedex this morning
  11. Nod, hence a buff that doesn't really change a thing. Somewhat agree on proration, even with similar prorations you're going to get a lot more damage off a 214d starter than a jab starter. Because one starts you off with 900 damage and the other starts you off with 150. So maybe you'll do the same damage.. minus that 750 difference, that is, which is a pretty large base amount. Higher the damage on a move is, the lower you should expect the proration to be really...
  12. 85% repeat proration still means you don't want to repeat them. ie, that 92 p2 on 214D is essentially a 78 p2 if you repeat the move. But yeah, the prorations really just tell us why we see people doing the stuff they are doing in the arcade. 3cc rapids, and koromo(for kiba) combos into the DP chain. re: hazama, even if you burst out of his DD combos, you still take a large chunk of damage because it isn't safe to brust for a good bit of time. with tsubaki, you can just burst immediately after the DP. If they made it harder for people to safely burst during your combo, then it could work..
  13. star, search youtube for kof fundamentals, I saw a good one a while back. don't look for kof13, just kof in general. I think you'd find it that way anyway.
  14. lollllll.. hilarious
  15. Both asian versions, used coupons on both, one cost $80 (economy shipping), other cost $95 (fedex). Take off $15 from the one you want and I'll ship it standard shipping? Just need to get rid of one.
  16. uhh... I accidentally pre-ordered two copies (I'm serious). One shipped economy and one shipped fedex.. Anyone interested?
  17. that last one is basically a cs2 combo, it's just ending with 5c 2cc etc instead of whatever we'd do now. the whole j214D, charge, falling JC still works I think, pretty sure I saw it in a vid anyway.
  18. mid combo air charge was new when I think gravo released his combo video. the same one that had the 623c->2cc loop. But it's not really bread and butter in cs2. cs ex, it might be
  19. I don't think they're based on PSR. but PSR -wise, tsubaki is the only character not represented in japan's top 100 PSRs.
  20. What do you mean, we had a good 5b in CS1.
  21. What is the logic behind tiers and why they exist..? Let's just say that I'm not quite sure myself. Here is what I know: a. Character Strength affects your odds of winning by a large amount. b. People playing very competitive games at a high level don't like losing, almost a fundamental truth c. People have strong incentive to not switch characters just because of some changes, as they have spent a lot of time into a character learning it d. Given that, if lots of people are going to abandon a character or the game, that character is probably pretty damn bad.. and they probably spent a pretty good amount of time playing to convince themselves of that. So.. tiers? I guess I don't really care about tiers, all the tiers tell me is what I already knew: Tsubaki doesn't get played as much because she's quite bad now. It's just a little more direct way of telling you the char is bad. It's going to be up to each individual person whether they care if the char they play is bad or not.
  22. I think the only thing that people here getting a copy of the game will do is to cause reality to set in. I think all of the main stuff we use in CS2 we saw within a few weeks or a month of arcade release. No one had to send any express mail to Japan to tell Konan all the hidden tech we found. I'm sure there'll be some changes over time, but nothing radical. D to C maybe?... Or it could be kinda like CS1 rachel, where they found some interesting stuff at the end, raising her from rachel tier to rachel tier
  23. xillia is great, trying to finish before my copy of kof 13 arrives. Fortunately I ordered from amazon with free shipping so I've got like a week still...
  24. TBH, it doesn't matter what you call it, all that matters is the current state, which quite frankly is the same as CS2, CS1, CT, etc. Characters aren't created equal, and sometimes they start out equal and then god decides to nerf their 5b. Some characters end up at the top of the heap and others at the bottom, damage is a part of that. No change affects characters equally anyway, even something 'universal' like barrier block changes.
  25. 'universal nerf' always means 'except for the new top tier, duh' @Lunar We have seen some interesting, unconventional strategies in the video thread to deal. One amusing video had copious use of resets. This could work but I think another strategy might work even better for you: Just leave it within reach, maybe on top of the tv, etc..
