  1. But yeah, to be clear, I was just practicing random stuff in training before I passed out -- didn't have a room up or anything. Would definitely play you tomorrow, Toan -- though I'm gonna get bodied, lol. I'm still dropping everything.
  2. Probably works most all like Melty airthrow/command grabs: usable as combo fodder. Most command grabs in Melty function sort of like Tager's atomic collider in that regard -- for example, Sacchin's EX air grab is a great combo tool, C-Akiha uses 63214A as a combo ender, and almost every character's generic air bnb ends with AT.
  3. holy god I'd forgotten how hard Carl was to deal with
  4. Getting on now. Prolly going to try Rachel today over Litchi, so Worst Rachel NA™ is going to make a showing in the netplay lobby.
  5. I'm being serious Just make j.D whiff and run at them past the staff, then hit 2C/2A whatever he's letting you get in for free if it whiffs and if it's all the way across the screen, you should still be able to close the distance before he lands unless Tsubaki's runspeed is way worse than I remember
  6. Yeah. You just need to judge whether or not you'll be able to control the pace of the matchup by being passive. If the answer is yes, do it, since it's safer. If it's no, start taking risks. If it's "I run the matchup at this range, but they run it at this range," always try to keep things in your favor, but know your options when it's not.
  7. You can't use shishin in the air, and I'm pretty sure j.D has landing recovery outspace j.d and run at them lol
  8. Don't worry about it Also, it's not that I can't learn Litchi, but rather that the major thing that made me play Litchi (strength of setplay) got nerfed, since there aren't really strong metered okizeme options for Litchi anymore (kokushi is only really good to end rounds) -- and her meterless setplay isn't half as good as the metered was, and is also extremely finicky in some cases. Basically, the reason I played Litchi, okizeme, seems stronger in Rachel atm, and Rachel has a couple of other things I value (like high mobility and basically unreactable mixup) on top of that.
  9. Anyone willing to play learning matches against my Rachel again? My Rachel's got like two days of real exp, so it's pretty bad. I just want to get more comfortable with the character so I can figure out if I want to switch off of Litchi in favor of Rachel in BBCP. Rachel is more like the characters I usually play (VAki, Millia, etc.), and I like how she feels, but I need to make sure I'm not crazy or making shit up before I put in tons of time on her.
  10. I mean, sometimes, I can guess people are doing implied FT3/5/10, which is fine It's just that I'm not gonna figure anything out if someone switches after they win, since matchups are so disparate in this game
  11. every time someone switches charas after they win, my salt goes through the roof
  12. ggs to everyone I played today. I need to get better at converting hits and playing safe in scrambles in neutral. Never gonna win if I autohit 2A even when it's a terrible idea (MBAC instincts gonna kill me).
  13. ggs -- I was pretty lol. My inputs are massively sloppy, and wind made that incredibly obvious ;_; Rachel plays massively different by matchup, jesus. Like, even having no clue what I was doing, it was sorta like I had to ask myself the classic MtG question, "am I supposed to be beatdown or control in this matchup?" every time, and how you play control really varies by matchup for Rachel. It felt like her gameplan changed a lot more than Litchi's based on matchup, safety of summons from neutral, etc.
  14. Works for me, though you could also play Mu -- I don't mind getting bodied while I figure stuff out. Just want to make sure people are willing to basically just play learning matches (involving very early stages of learning). IKUYOU
  15. Is there anyone I can try to basically first time Rachel against? Want also try her while I'm learning, since Litchi oki got nerfed (kind of) and I'm a whore for okizeme/strong mixup. Will probably be pretty derp, but I want to at least feel out how she plays a little.
  16. Out of your league = gold mine in replays
  17. ggs to the people I played, especially that Mu that played me for like 15 games. Really appreciate it. Slowly remembering how to play BB, now. First few matches, I forgot bursts existed
  18. It's day 1 for me. I need to find someone to body me play with me either today or tomorrow so I can get back in the habit.
  19. Is there a combo theory writeup somewhere? I know the combo thread exists, but I was trying to see if I could get a more general idea of how the combos work, rather than a ton of specifics. If there's not one, I'll just watch JP vids and use the thread for reference or something until I have a rough idea of what's going on.
  20. I'm popping in to say that I'm highly amused by this =3 I look forward to the inevitable result of salt everywhere regardless of who wins. This shit better be streamed, though. It's a travesty if it isn't.
  21. This sentence is your answer in a nutshell.
  22. Oh wow, this thread has people talking. If it's a thing, I should be there the 8th, even though I've graduated. I know for a fact we're running Melty, though no clue about P4A/BB/GG. I should be able to get all requisite info sooner or later. EDIT: I wouldn't count on all those to actually run, though.
  23. Glad someone brought up C-Roa. That shit is so ridiculous, but no one is going to vote to ban it. It's not -that- broken. There's nothing to stop the Zangief player from pulling out something to beat Sagat, though. There are still ways to beat Kokonoe. Sure, it might not be as your main, and that sucks like hell, but needing pocket subs to deal with matchups is nothing new to fighting games. Kokonoe is stupid, but is she so stupid that every character has a 1-9 matchup against her? Does something no one can deal with in any way? Neither is true. If she doesn't make the game impossible to play as anyone but Kokonoe, and she doesn't, then she's stupid, but not worth a ban. Just my two cents.
  24. Health may not deplete at the same rate throughout the health bar. In Melty, damage multipliers vary based on how much health you're at when you start taking damage
  25. Yah, Sacchin and Kouma are really good examples of that kind of grappler. Kouma is more of a grappler than Satsuki, though. In practice, Satsuki's more of an okizeme/setplay character focused on crossup high/low (get dat 4-way).
