  1. Can't say yet for sure how many are confirmed for summer jam, but there's at least 7 interested. Actually I think the only confirmed one is Brice, and I'm 90%.
  2. aw we usually stay till pretty late (1 am) so if ever it finishes kinda early try to come check out foonzo, you won't regret it! (and I'll buy you a beer)
  3. I don't think it'll be necessary, but thanks Blade. In fact, I didn't even know you had bought the game yet
  4. I just took the newer combos from this thread and japanese videos, optimized a bit, and added 6b 2c 6c 5d 214d where it worked. So... you're already part of the club, just haven't contributed yet :P If you want to know how to "get into shape", well, I spend a lot of time every week experimenting with various ideas to see what I can find. It doesn't always work though. For example, last week I was trying to find a setup where you place steins, crossup a DP and make it safe. Instead though, I learned that stein wait stein wait DP usually hits opponents who try to punish. Gimmicks!
  5. NEC then? Any BB player want to MM (or doesn't have to involve money) this friday for mtlsf barfights? Level5/Kirbster/Kaeru/anyone else? might be too late to add something but just wondering. (though I wonder if GG or melty would work too, lol)
  6. whee new combos, was kinda due to having update to my previous combo compilation with all the new tech that has come out since. Took some stuff and ideas from this thread and gave credit, but there's some actual new stuff as well. Won't spoil it with notations yet, hope you enjoy : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9omQR9fN_iE
  7. well we have access to 360s at Foonzo, and most of our sticks are dual modded. It's just that almost no one has extend on xbox. Hi dio! you coming to summer jam?
  8. shoutouts to "c'est comme si on s'était battu pour vrai".
  9. ggs axis, zeron, and dj_bactricity, dunno why I was dropping and derping so much, connections felt good
  10. ggs xckaiser, xdest, imt dragon, kaisukex3, and anyone else I forgot, oh and GGJ yesterday. sorry about those fraudulent moments, dragon I'll probably forget a few, but for those that are on often there's level5-jeepchan, heartless_69, bibiquadium, vice-taicho, ridetheicening, nedel_3773, and rarely kaeru2120, takerkart (brice).
  11. hey I remember you from NEC, whats up! Our meetup spot, Foonzo, is really close to where you're staying, so if ever you can't make it to one of our planned meetups but still want to mash, let us know and we'll figure something out. It's closed on Mondays btw.
  12. I had a lot of fun. Managed to win some games with my fraudulent but got exposed really hard by A3 and Braver. There were 2 pools, and I think I went win-lose-win-lose in mine and didn't make top 8, so there must have been at least 16 players.
  13. lolwut. there were 4 pools of at least 8 players. since only 2 guys per pool made it to top 8 and I think there was only regional seeding, some were harder/easier than others. It was an interesting way of running the brackets though, sure you could easily end up in a double jeopardy, but at least you could do whatever while other pools were running.
  14. I don't want to sound like a redditor, but I do think the picture is appropriate: there also happens to be a thread on sankishin where we can discuss this in hopes of not getting relevant posts lost in the flood of whatever gets posted here. also, brice, do your best to head out to paris if you can. it might be the only chance anyone from east coast will be able to go, and if it's you specifically, imagine how great it would be if you hyped up a few french players to come to NEC or something
  15. Had a really great time this weekend, shoutouts to everyone who showed up. met a lot of people, thanks for the casuals skd, raiza, cirno, TD, DI0, LK, superscience... Sorry for playing only dumb characters though st1ckbug, LK, daiandoh, tournament ran really well, GJ! rest of ECT staff gj as well specific shoutouts to: st1ckbug parrying my gold burst through your blockstring, and then airthrowing another one. Matches were too much fun, we need to have a money match or something next time. mt5a good shit getting 3rd, I want my runback from teams though, you're the one who's getting exposed next time fat sandwiches. though they were smaller than I expected, what's the thing that happens when you eat 4? I'd try that next time. all those stories from the grease trucks. dangerexy, seasons beatings, bait the chains, by a fence... dacidbro telling us tales of the magical R button and other random stuff. negative fucks casuals with in st1ckbug's room after the sandwiches may fuck air gauntlet hades sad I didn't get casuals with everyone, oh well more incentive to come next time. Hope I'll be able to make it to summer jam.
  16. Welcome! Foonzo is probably the best venue/meetup spot ever, so you really should pass by! Our meetups are usually on Thursday and Sunday evenings, sometimes on Tuesdays. Sadly most of us netplay on PS3, and I still haven't bought extend for 360
  17. Welcome! Our meetup spot is sadly 18+, but there's a bunch of us on the south shore and we have meetups at people's places every now and then as well.
  18. when she starts pressuring you, block, and wait for a spot to use 5a, usually after a crossup if she's in the air. try it, eventually you'll get the trick. hitconfirm it with 2c, that way if the 5a is blocked, you might catch them off guard with 2c or the following 5c. On hit you do like 5a 2c j.c j.2c, sometimes you can even dash 2b and continue afterwards (into like 2b 2c 6c habacan 2b 5c 6c or something like that). at neural, dodge her as much as possible and place a stein if she's out of drive range. don't try to poke TOO much, because tao has a lot of mobility options, and it's very easy to whiff and eat a CH into full combo. anti air with 6a if they get predictable. It can be a pretty frustrating matchup sometimes, but I don't play it often so I don't know the details that well.
  19. I should be there tomorrow as well, I'll probably arrive around 9:15.
  20. ah I see, yeah that makes a lot of sense, I was thinking it would be cool if you could chose to not dp if you don't see a superflash, but then you'd be really vulnerable to throws... unless you're in the air so yeah just tested this is real solid, need to remember to use in matches. I think you can use 6[d] instead of 6d to automatically get the right delay, depends if you prefer your steins charged or uncharged. Testing it out in training mode and it's giving you some really interesting options because the j.5d is there to cover you in case they don't DP. stuff like j.2c j.5d 66[d] 7jc low airdash 6b ]d[ 2b etc. ...7jc j.c j.2c j.236a ]d[ 6b etc. ...9jc 2b 2b ]d[ 6b... fun times ahead! though... any combos off the DP if it doesn't clash? best I could get was DP RC ]j.5d[ 6b 6a j.2c j.5d (6]d[ whiffs) 2b 6a j.c j.2c. too close for the normal DP corner combo and ]d[ screws up the 6b 5c 2c j.c j.2c 2c 6c... combo.
  21. Ragna is the best sub. You already know him.
  22. double post! okay so it beats lambda and hazama supers, loses to relius doll and valk supers if you time it to catch jumpout (unless there's some timing between the two, but that would be kind of unreliable due to possible late techs), and looks like it doesn't do well against rolls and late techs. If you use ...j.2c j.5d dash 6[d] DP instead (or simply delay the DP input a bit), you beat every reversal I thought was worth testing, but don't hit jump outs, just catch them blocking in the air, and still lose to roll. Both these clash with a lot of stuff so you need to be ready for it. I have no idea how to combo after a DP CH ]d[ without spending meter though.
  23. nice! will have fun with this for sure
  24. had a bit of fun in the lab tonight to prepare for ECT, looked at what reversals beat sakuma and H.H's setups because I'm thinking, why am I not using these yet... and wow yeah they're pretty solid. ...j.5d 2b 5c 2c 7j.2c j.2d j.236d : loses to inferno divider, valk super, lambda super, hazama super, relius doll super. if anyone finds something else lemme know. It trades with a few others as well, but beats a lot of stuff clean. (sakuma's) ...j.5d 2b 5c 2c 7j.2c 3c 5d 214[d] : beats inferno divider! (H.H's) ...j.5d 2b 6a 7j.c j.2c :j.5d 214[d] : I don't see in which situation you would use this one as opposed to one of the above. Seriously, if someone finds some other usefulness to this one besides maybe deceptiveness, post up! (H.H's) also, if someone knows a corner setup that beats valk/lambda/relius/hazama super I'd really like to know what it is. I'm not talking about blocking, I'm looking for something that gives you an advantage even if they don't do the super.
