Montreal: Le Thread Generale Pour Weeaboo Fighters

Are you taking advantage of advance input? You know the thing where when you hold a button down it presses itself for the next 5 frames? This has helped me with tight links, wakeup super/DP, and other stuff. It doesn't help with dashes though -

Ok no meetup tonight. Save up your energy and dark train for tomorrow, or you're gonna be free. Omar, I should get on xbl around 8, you gonna be there? (I'm gonna call you omar from now on, less letters) @Kirbster: you mean, rise and fall. Don't forget SC4 (yeah was hoping to have fun with it before CS2 lol. but hey I'll probably ragequit to it after being unsuccessful in learning executing litchi combos anyways. fucking dash 5B) @Blade: lol dlink is kinda far from godlike. Their wired routers are pretty solid, but the wireless shit crashes regularly. 2-3 years ago, you'd ask anyone who had problems with their router what brand they were using and the answer was "the wireless dlink one". As for me, our first Dlink died after a year (well the last few months were painful), and the next Dlink lasted 4 months and was absolute shit. And I know, because I used to play wow and I hated it soooo bad. I also had to limit my animu DL speed because if I went over 60KB/s, it crashed and had to be manually reset because even the reset button broke. It's so bad even the reset button broke. Oh and my personal experiences are very relevant and concrete data, and should be regarded as irrefutable. -

Chances we actually do have a meetup today are kinda low actually. Tomorrow for sure though. I'll try to remember for the converters. -

That will be determined today, in this thread, some time before 5. If we do, next time I'll be on Xbl might be saturday evening. If not, should be tonight. -
My gameplan so far vs Jin has been to place steins fullscreen as much as possible. If he sends out a projectile, avoid it, because blocking stops your steins from firing. Cancel steins into DP if you're on the ground, air backdash, j.236D, or something else to stall your fall if you're in the air and think it'll go below you. Be careful of his air approach while doing this, he has huge horizontal range. Don't mash the D button, stay safe and alert, and use charge steins in the mix. If he has 50 heat, never cancel a stein into another stein. This forces him to take a risk or two, try to punish his approach in the best you can. Jin's blockstrings are full of holes, but be careful when DPing out because it's really easy for him to bait it, and don't mash 2A, or anything for that matter, not worth the risk/reward, the holes aren't usually big enough (unless you IB, but even then it depends). His mixup isn't that rewarding until he gets meter (overhead? what overhead?), so blocking a lot isn't necessarily risky, just don't get impatient and try something stupid. Learn what his cross-up options are and how to deal with them (ex: j.236D doesn't actually cross-up in CS1, don't know about CS2 but don't think it changed). Anyways, that's my thoughts, if I'm doing it wrong, would someone please correct me? (this is after playing 2 different jins offline)

An easy tip, use more 236A, like, way more. You can never* use it too much (unless you're playing against hakumen). You will then begin to really appreciate Mu in CS2 I also enjoy doing stuff at midscreen like 5D 4[D] j.[D], land, dash, mixup. If it connects, sweet laser combo, if he blocks, another chance a mixup. If the opponent dashes up at you before you jump, just special cancel into DP/SoD/236A for maximum frustration If you guys are sad about losing midscreen laser oki, try this really easy setup: ...6C 5D SoD dash 6D 214D. It will catch a lot of opponents, because the 214D explosion if timed correctly, will combo from the 5D, if I'm not mistaken.

Me and brice might open the HQ today, who's interested? @PSN: @Unsanctifier: I got xbl now, let's netplay (when there isn't a meetup, lol) @Nini: uh yeah gonna work on that... eventually... <.< (no srsly I gotta remember to either order them or get someone to do it, I keep forgetting when I'm at home) @Blade: get your routers right! Linksys is legit, it's loldlink. Also, the following makes absolutely no sense. -

Nope, don't think I'm gonna get MvC3 for xbox. I already have it for PS3, which is enough to train, if I want to play I can just go to Foonzo or HQ, the scene for that game is bigger than BBCS2 here, so online isn't really necessary. Ken, if you need help with Haz combos, I think steb could probably help you. He's got them pretty good iirc. -

Oh okay at least you can still use it. It's trolling value has gone up at least tenfold. Even more on an air hit. Oh and add me to the first post of XBL players, lol. And I find that wavedashing is useful for making giant robots move faster, and funnier. -

@Steb: instead of saying you don't have a team, just say your most main team is Capt/Thor/Iron Man until you figure it out. @Flavourjello : let's add each other on psn too. Even in CS1, it was fun when we had a room of 3-4 people from the area, the lag was okay. Lol we haven't had psn meetups in forever (with nolan/fred/ntype/brice/vice/kirbster/etc.) :O @Blade : so what did they do to shippu? is the damage just not worth it or it doesn't cancel into from 6C? I don't really see when you'd use that super, ever. Sad because it was hype like excailbur from AH3. -

how do you like the new tao? got that j.8D~A loop ready? by the way, saying that online is almost like offline is not a good idea on this website, unless you want to get flammed. -

Don't worry, I'm stepping up my marvel. I no longer mash 2A, steb taught me some combos, and stuff like wavedashing (lol I thought you had to 662662662 etc. and I was thinking damn these guys are godlike). But what? 6C shippu doesn't work anymore? that's sad... -

>Netplay >THURSDAY @Nini : don't you mean he should never ever unlearn that one? It's his signature combo -

pochp replied to BladeOfJustice7's topic in International
Unlearn? Lol I was doing the stricter CS1 combos on the shitstick, the rage-creating thing is the button randomness. Anyways, gonna be able to use my other stick as soon as the kitty boards are ready for the second gen of TE pcbs. But yeah, lol psn. Hopefully the netcode will have improved. Did a bit of netplay last night, xbl was okay-ish, netplay is netplay. -

Lol I learned some Mu bnbs last night. Except for a few delays and dashes, pretty easy. Never mind what I said the other day, her combos so far have a pretty obvious route to go to. If anyone wants to try her out, she's probably one of the easier characters this time. (corner) anything (besides grab or 6B )into SoD 6A 6B 6A j.2C j.5D 2B 5C 2C delay j.2C (SoD super) for around 2.5-3k @Kirbster: Did something happen to your hair? @Ken: And that's why you should always netplay with a wired connection. -

Brice, PM cranky to let him know how much he owes you for the drinks... or just tell him at the HQ tomorrow. Blade, the sensors thingys for the stick are kinda used or something like that. It feels loose. No where near as bad of an issue as for the other stick, though. oh and I DIDN'T FAIL ANY CLASSES WOOO -

Yeah I've almost completely forgotten Mu's nerfs too. But I'll have to pass on your offer. I would have accepted, but my bro just sent me a text to say that the Xbox arrived, so I'll get that CS2 as soon as I get home. However if you want your 16gig back I have no problem with that, it just implies that I'll have to clean up mine. I don't think we'll be recording/commentating games for a while either... maybe. -

Cranky, I think blade just meant to check if there was enough room, if not to never mind. We got the patch and bought DLCs on the main station, but the rest would only have been a temporary solution until the patch is released for PS3, as well as the PSN store coming back online. By the way, the xbox that's hooked up to the CRT beside the 3rd strike station (not the one hooked up to the 3rd strike station) doesn't have recent marvel patches. Sentinel still has his old HP. @Blade : Lol don't ever consider playing lambda if that's hurting your fingers. Mashing 5CCCCCCCC as fast as possible during combos made my fingers hurt soo much, one of the reasons I dropped her. @Kirbster : so, did it come out? -

GGs today guys, CS2 is fun, GG is fun, pretzels are salty as fuck, and fairmount bagels are godlike. Thanks to people who brought their stuff. great! I can probably have up to 4 at my place, would have to make sure with my parents and brother, but it should be good. (maybe more if needed, but slightly complicates things, not really a problem though) @Eb: because I didn't think about doing it. Why are you mashing C in combos, you're not playing lambda, are you? @Ken: eh it's okay, more playtime for us. I even did some trials and others did a bit of training mode at some point. btw, lol jin is fucking strong this time. I think fred can agree. @Nolan : nah we'll stay free in GG for a while. Too many matchups, too small scene. I do think we're getting better at a good rate and if it keeps up we'll be at least decent for the matchups we'll know for MAT8. Oh and "some reason" was lolps3 I'm guessing :P -

No they don't have hard drives and with the patches for Marvel and SF there isn't enough space left, apparently. (or so I heard, don't quote me on this) -

Sup john! The patch should be out for PS3 this week, and netplay has already come back, so you should be all set to get ready for MAT8. HQ open by the way. We got soft drinks, bagels and pretzels, so much salt. Oh, and CS2.
