Honestly, i'd just give up on trying to convince people that they should play Under-Night. I stopped caring about who plays it here or not long time ago, it's probably about time you did the same. Hell, i'm not playing Gear because I don't like the game so I can't really chastise anyone for not playing a game for the same reason (even though none of the people who actually comment on the game actually HAVE played it yet, but whatever). In the end, my interest in Gear strived from a desire to see all of the anime fighting games being played (because...you know...we're an anime fighting game community). -

My day one impressions of this game still has me scratching my head. Here are a few thoughts I had from everything i've seen today: - Jin has this new instant overhead that combos for like 3.5k. Looks very hard to react to. - Bullet and Azrael look like they're going to get turtled so god damn hard. I couldn't help but laugh every time Relius zoned the hell out of Bullet. - Carl and Platinum are our new overlords and we should all prepare our offerings to these characters as soon as possible. - Screw Litchi - Glad to see that the game has overall WAY less hitstun. It was always stupid trading with certain characters and they still be able to do combos after coming out of the recovery. - Noel's command grab caught Arakune out of his beam super, don't know how I feel about this. - Izayoi needs to be godlike - Dorito chip sound effects ftw - FF music ftw - This game is sexy. - This game is sexy. - THIS GAME IS SEX!!! -

I know how you feel Chandler. Just hoping that Izayoi and Mu are in the initial arcade build and we won't have to wait for a patch to see them. That'll probably end up being the case but a guy can dream. -

Yo MTNers, this is LastStar giving greetings after returning from the frozen tundra. I see you all are swapping info on that CP. Game's looking hype and fun and all that jazz. @Ranga discussion - I guess Ragna wanted to see what it was like to FRC cancel, lol. I'm supporting his loss of oki and his options off of 6C. Even though, having a projectile now should make him twice as scary as anything those options could've possibly have been. @Tager discussion - My terrible match-up becomes impossible now? That's what's up! Looking forward to hating every minute of fighting Astaroth. 10/0 match-up <3 @Video discussion - Saw the vid you posted Chandler, Bullet was wrecking shit. She looks pretty interesting altogether though. I see she has a move that looks like Naoto's Double Fang and her movement options from "The Red Ring of Death" looks awesome too. Want to see more already. General discussion - Did I mention I love how shitty Noel still is? If I didn't, just know my feelings are there, deep down inside my gut, festering into a smoldering pile waiting to be regurgitated back up and spewed on the foundation of her character design. Also, trying to figure out what fighters to pick up for the new year is difficult. I have slots for at least 3 fighters, maybe 4 if they pull my interest in enough. Problem mostly is going to be finding any local competition if I do decide to pick anything up, idk. I got my copy of Extend back. Playing it brought back a lot of memories. Playing it also brought back reminders of how much I hate characters with zero-to-no neutral game or defensive options. Been playing Mitsuru too long I guess. Feeling out the roster to see if I like anyone, definitely don't want to get CP and not know who I want to play. Decisions, decisions. In other news, I got a job working nights at Kroger. It's pretty chill (literally). You can just come in, drown out the work load with some music, grind those pallets, get paid, go home and sleep, rinse and repeat. With that said, i'm digging it so far except for not being able to feel my hands after every shift. I guess you can call me KR/LastStar or something silly like that from now on. If anyone's wondering about the upcoming Thanksgiving event, the plans I had for the food backfired due to the fact that the money I was going to give to get the ingredients to make the food won't be in until that Friday. So, either i'll be just providing plenty of snacks and drinks or i'll shell out enough to order pizza and any thing else from a Pizzeria of you guys' choosing. I read that a few of you were going to stop by after hanging with family? If so, will you be eating there or at my place? Doesn't really matter to me all too much though. The event starts whenever the first person who reaches my doorstep enters my house. From sun-up to sun-down (provided I don't have to work which in that case the party will probably end around 11 P.M.). What games are being played? I'll probably be playing a lot of Melty Blood with Volpe but i'm up for playing P4U, BB, or Kof. I know a few people will want to play Gear, so i'm willing to play a few casual matches of that too. heck, i'll play almost anything if someone brings it up me or I have a set-up available. PSN still hasn't gotten Gear yet which is a big enough troll to those waiting for it over here as is. Forever sadfacing PSN Gear players, haha! Well, that's all I got to say for now, about to go crash, wake up, and then focus on putting together my first manuscript. Should be pretty interesting and i'm excited to get my creative juices flowing again. Got way too many idea that haven't reached paper yet and from what i'm told it's a damned shame. Peace out all, much <3 LastStar out P.S. Somebody find out if Tad is coming for Thanksgiving. I need to look at this person to remind myself that i'm alive. -

@Volpe: I'll most definitely be able to host, that's not the problem. The problem lies in whether or not i'll have to work Thanksgiving night, I doubt it but it is a possibilty. If that happens i'll have to end the event around 11 which would suck because 11 is early for a get-together if you ask me. Also, I planned to post the official information on the event after I had got the menu together fully which should be around the 10th. It's been really weird to put together because I have one guy who doesn't eat meat and another who's allergic to milk. If anyone has any other food related fraudulence please tell me now so you don't show up and DIE! I'll have all info up in a few days. -

I pulled out my OLD ARCADE 360 and looked at it like "is now the time?" My 360 was like "Arcade 360 rises?" Thus, I decide to humor it. So I go back into my closet, get the remaining parts of my 360, plug them in, and turn the system on. Immediately, i'm greeted with a non-HD display. So I say to myself "forgot to plug in my HDMI cable." I turn the 360 around, no HDMI port...I died Next, I had to download this retarded patch for my Xbox, and low and behold, I didn't even have enough memroy, WITH TWO CARDS!! To download it...I died again After that I went to the Xbox live marketplace and remembered that I needed to pay 60-70 bucks to play online, plus the however much Gear costed on Xbox....I died a third time Finally, after all of this, I was forced to embrace the realization that I won't get to play Gear this week....so I left to go watch paint dry -

I see, then I guess I can understand where you're coming from. Most of my match-up experience stems from me fighting very few, other Relius players. While I will admit that I generally didn't know about most of what you're talking about, most of the times I got caught by one of Relius' set-ups, I had to block them. Could just be a bit of me not having a DP, and could just be a bit of me not having a few of the tools to deal with him at mid-screen and once he starts pressuring me. If I get a copy of the game I might go into the lab and test to see what I can do, but for the most part, Noel has trouble with him to an extent, from what I played anyways. With that said, I still can't see him being worst character in-game. Also, don't recall saying that I thought she was going to play like Nu. I do think she has top-tier potential if she were to have a DP, especially one like gravity seed was. Lambda was high B-tier in Extend. Adding a DP to her roster would only up her even higher with a solid reversal. Edit: @Tret: I can't remember much about CS1, but I think most people who use Nu and DP in the same sentence are having terrible flashbacks of CT days. For the most part, Gravity Seed serves as a pretty good combo tool in Extend and it helps if you can measure where your opponent is going to approach to slow them down and set up mix-up. -

@Astaroth - I'm more or less interested in the games overall speed since I thought Extend had a reasonable amount of speed. Not as fast as Gear but not really slow either, idk, it felt right to me. I'd like some harder to react mix-up if possible. @Tret - As Jackie says, they probably won't be bringing it back. You don't reward a zoning character with defensive options because the fact of the matter is, if you get caught, you're playing the zoning character wrong. It's hard for people to catch a good Lambda blocking as is, then you have to worry about baiting a DP that's going to put you in a state where they can get mix-up. Like Jackie said again, that's begging for an S-tier character. @Woz - Relius' normals are by no means bad. They have pretty decent frame data and the hitboxes on alot of his moves are really good. Maybe they aren't the best alone but mix them in together with Ignis and he gets pretty hard to deal with. As for mix-up, I can't remember everything he could do for mix-up but I remember safe overhead mix-ups with Ignis as well as Ignis being the main tool to get in on his opponent mid-screen, I don't see where you're saying he doesn't have mid-screen potential. Yeah Ignis dies fast, but that's just to keep him balanced. Can anyone honestly say Relius would be balanced if he had say Nervana's meter? He'd be stupid good. What do you mean he loses Ignis after teching a throw? Also, if he does lose ignis, that's just a well-balanced risk-reward for attempting a throw, I don't see this making him the worst character in-game, the other characters who are projected low-tier would cry to hear someone say Relius deserves that spot. Also, i'm aware that damage output is not the key to a good character, but it does at least qualify him to be higher than those who initial damage output is relatively low and their ability to safely open people up is not as sound as Relius combined with Ignis. -

Who could possibly bitch about Lambda? That robot had to work hard (if not, the hardest in-game). Nothing came easy for her, unless you were the blob. This is coming from a person who doesn't even like fighting her and I understand that much. Mu-12 was on the derpy side but she honestly wasn't that hard of a match-up to deal with. If Mu's that difficult for people to deal with then i'm defnitely missing something. @Woz- Relius, worst in-game? HELL NO! That retarded pedo bastard and his giant robotic sex doll were TOO godlike. 5K off of regular grabs, 4K off everything else....Shit. Also, praise be to the Valk nerfs!! If Nu's mix-up game still plays anything like Lambda's then i'll probably sub her as well. I've been scurrying around the CP roster looking for a new main anyways. The game does look sexy as of the last few vids I saw of it. Edit: Forgot to ask, what are they doing to Rachel, Woz? All I know of is that they gave her a shitty overdrive. Hopefully wind movement nerfs? -

I guess it's shout-outs time: Kyle and his crew - Thanks for coming down and competing in the tournament, I learned a lot about the match-up from fighting your Naoto. Also want to give another shoutout to you guys for the good time you showed me at the hotel you were all staying at. It was a blast talking to you guys about a bunch of games. To hear that you guys play so many different games makes me remember how limited our community is in terms of the fighters we play, but whatever. I definitely need to plan a trip to visit you guys once I get a job and some cash flow. It's mandatory that I visit you guys' scene now. Woz - As always it's good to see you bro. Your Shadow Labrys is nice bread man, you have to give yourself more slack. Stop letting the "big names" de-moralize you into thinking you can't win. My first rule when fighting someone is to assume they're a scrub unless I, myself have fought them enough times to say otherwise no matter who they are. It may be a stupid way to approach things to some, but hell, it keeps me from putting too much thought into an opponent and missing key oppurtunities in a match. To be honest, I would've much rather have gotten some BB casuals in with you rather than Persona. Just seeing the game case was enough to remember all the fun and hype times I had in that game. Skeletal Minion - It was fun playing all those casuals against you. Labrys is definitely one of the harder match-ups for me to adjust to no matter how many times I fight her. So much i have to be wary of, and so much I have to just straight-out yomi. You are solid and I hope to run into you in another tournament. Tad - We never did get to pick up where we left off on our FT100 but i'll catch you next time...Actually, thinking about it now, I never got to fight you in Gear either when I was sitting down and messing with the game. I'll have to fix that next time I see you. Phil - Thanks for teaching me some pointers on how to improve my Millia, it was definitely appreciated. I really like her playstyle and her overall speed. Sorry i'm not as hype about Gear as you are but i'm sure once it comes out i'll get to have a casual set or two with you. Volpe - You FRAY! Lol, nah but I know you were hoping to do much better in P4U but you hadn't played the game in a while so it's kind of understandable. Elizabeth is the type of character who constantly evolves with the game and every new discovery made with other characters. With that said, having been away from the game for so long definitely hurt your overall gameplan with her. Klein - If I could ever manage to see you around maybe one day i'll be able to catch more than one conversation with you. Anyways, I kind of understand how you feel about UNI and i'm cool with that. I just tend to get a bit bent out of shape when people shrug off games without even giving them a try first. I honestly just want you guys to possibly get the chance to enjoy it too, that's all. Also, GG casuals were pretty fun. I have no idea what the fuck Slayer is doing. Papstr - Props for Instant-killing Boomcube on stream, that was lolz. All of the out-of-staters-I-can't-remember - My apologies for not being able to give indivisual shout-outs to each and every one of you but there were so many of you scurrying around it was hard to keep up. Thanks for showing up and I hope you all enjoyed yourselves. SHOUT-OUTS TO STREAM CHAT! Anyone I forgot, this is the most I can do, and or, can remember to do, sorry XP -

Might make Chronophantasma or Under-Night the last competitive fighters I play, everything after that is going to become net-play casual games only. Luckily, since Gear will only be costing me 15 bucks it's definitely going on my to-be-purchased list.
