  1. *Yawn* Holy shit, I leave for work for a few hours and this thread explodes. The hell hap... -Patch notes released- Oh, that explains a ton. Guess I'll get to readin'. -One wonderful reading later- Huh, well I'll be damned. Ragna is, looking scarier. D Inferno Divider got real good, while GH and (OD) DS got fixed to not do stupid things. The only bad thing is BE but that can now be finished off with a DD so not a big loss. Azrael is looking better and more importantly, BULLET! Sadly Makoto is still shit (XC). I mean damn, what gives? Did someone at ASW get mauled by squirrels during their mating season and are using this game as a chance at vengeance? Taokaka still gonna be top tier? Well since nobody ever even uses her online this means squat to me. Maybe the offline tourney is gonna be her scratching post but I don't have to worry about that. Can anyone tell me what the stuff for Mu-12 means? Is it good or bad? And if either, how much so?
  2. Yes. For instance you could buff her 5D and JD back to P4A in terms of reach but keep their speed. Another one I thought would be "interesting" would be to give 2D a hitbox on Thanny's head. It'd still apply poison, but his head will now register a hit and add to a combo.
  3. February 20th eh? Sweet. That means in little more than a week, we'll get a flood of videos to enjoy. Hype train's arriving and he's taken a short-cut to make sure he's a few minutes early .
  4. So I was watching some GGAC+R out of a desire for nostalgia and came upon the Guilty Bits episode featuring A.B.A. Upon watching it, I found that the core of her gameplan is eerily similar to what Lizzie currently has. For the unawares, A.B.A is a mode-change character that is among the worst while in her "Normal" mode but becomes amazing when she shifts to "Moroha" mode (and even more so in "Goku Moroha"), gaining better speed, attacks and damage output. The risks of health loss are also very much there, with A.B.A gradually losing it in Moroha mode while Lizzie sacrifices it to force her Awakening. Why do I bring this up? Because right now, I see Lizzie as more of a watered-down version of A.B.A. She gets much better specials in Awakening like her, but the speed and most glaring, damage output are nowhere near what Moroha mode offers to A.B.A. Another is the ability to survive, as A.B.A is capable of restoring her health pretty darn safely while Lizzie can't. So I had the brainwave of suggesting that if ASW were to improve on what they have done with Lizzie. They didn't give her the full treatment (for instance, Moroha changes A.B.A's normals, not just specials), but they could do it in the future. What do you guys think?
  5. He's trying to prove a point. It doesn't actually exist...I think.
  6. But there were times she tended to resist Hazama's orders (her Arcade run which because of the unique nature of CP events, can be seen as canon), though granted that was simply due to someone else making Ragna's life crap and not her. And now that she pretty much has free reign to do that non-stop, I am getting the feeling she's playing by her rules now. I don't see why not, though it seems like V-13's Azure cannot go ultra-Beast Mode like Ragna's can unless she merges with it.
  7. Hmm, I got a question: on whose side is V-13 currently on? Her backstabber nature aside, she spent much of BBCP simply following Hazama's orders. I don't recall Relius of the Imperator even telling her to do anything, unless we're counting Izanami's command at the climax which was more directed at Ragna than her. I ask since, now that Hazama is potentially dead and Relius has been abandoned by Izanami, who would be calling V-13's shots now? I mean, there was no mention of her at all in the ending and the only one the heroes are actively searching for is Ragna, not her.
  8. I'd say the same. It is a fact that certain characters encounter him in their arcade runs and that others (like PerSHOna) are aware of him. But as to whether he has been confirmed playable? Nope, no mention at all.
  9. Pretty much. It's just a lot easier to hate the NOL since, for the majority of the games, the focus is on the two of its most disgusting members: Hazama and Relius. With them around, they make any mook-killing act that Ragna commits down the line all the more acceptable. For that matter, Kokonoe and Sector 7 aren't much better either what with stockpiling nukes, creating (through negligence) Arakune and unleashing Azrael upon the world. Ultimately, it isn't a question of "who isn't an asshole" but more like "who is the asshole that'll screw me over the least".
  10. Just because we know he isn't being a joke anymore, doesn't mean the rest of the BB-verse doesn't still see him as such. Besides, I lumped him with Taokaka who most certainly ain't someone who you'd want pleading your case in any way, shape or form. Does Kagura know the whole story though? Then again, I suppose it matters little since I figure there's naught he would be able to do to change Tsubaki's mind. Yeah, it's why I said having Rachel mention anything is a terrible idea. Her immediate and only solution to an obviously pissed off Mu-12 was "Kill her". She was wrong about that and now that she's become an "actor" there's even less of a reason to do anything she has to say. That aside what did you mean in the bolded as "being in Noel's position"?
  11. Outside of Makoto (whom I don't recall spending much quality time with him), both Noel and Kagura would have to REALLY push a solid case here. Though I am not entirely convinced Kagura's got the "bro" status with Ragna. Sure, Bang and Taokaka are kinda his "bros" as of CP but it doesn't matter since nobody's gonna take them seriously, let alone Tsubaki. Kagura strikes me more as someone who, when push comes to shove, would still aim at Ragna's neck if he proves to be a threat. So that only leaves Noel to build a case. But maybe I'm wrong. Perhaps Rachel can shed some light to Tsubaki. Course, Rachel's praise is often layered thick with insults too. Maybe just get Haku-errr...yeah Rags, your fate's looking all the more grisly by the minute.
  12. If by origins you mean him being Ragna's psychotic baby bro; it depends. Would that ultimately have any impact on their assigned "mission" of killing Rags? Would it change anything? I sincerely doubt Tsubaki would even care considering how far she was willing to go for Jin-niisama. But if you ask me, it's a 50-50 toss-up whether he will tell her or not, provided someone else doesn't do it for him.
  13. They're being assigned a more important task by Rachel. Chiefly: killing Ragna before he dies a "natural" death otherwise a vaguely, never-before-mentioned "evil" will escape and kill the world. If they don't make it in time, Tsubaki has a back-up task of killing Rachel instead in order to stop it. Nu-13 is likely NOT on their priority targets list.
  14. Give her a coga-line beating? Not that I would mind seeing it again, but Ragna gave her a sound thrashing this time and it did nothing. Maybe Kokonuts had the right idea: rip apart the soul and toss it in a hollow husk. That said, there is no mention of her anywhere in the epilogue, yes? Everyone's really out to get Ragna's guts, Tsubaki in particular.
  15. Maybe it was a little too naive of Ragna to assume this, but recall that while Nu-13 was in Lambda-11 she had none of the pre-established "Execute MurderAll.EXE" and even took an Ouroboros to the back for him. I figure that's why he decided to give her this chance. It is even reflected in his introduction with her, where he ceases a Hell's Fang just inches away from her. Of course, I hope this CP experience means he wised up and the next time he meets that disgusting wretch he doesn't hesitate tearing a hole right through her guts. And if that whole "evil" business and Imperator controlling him like a puppet are any indication, it could very well happen.
  16. You can't really blame them though. Bitch be crazy, and not in the sense where her "hotness" factor outweighs it. Maybe its just me, but when you give an earnest effort in trying to save someone and they repay you by stabbing you in the back, I think you're perfectly entitled to put the ol'girl to bed. Permanently.
  17. Yeah, if he can focus on it sure. But have you forgotten he is, as far as we know, human? And I believe humans still need to sleep from time to time meaning he can't really control it all the time. And that excluding points where he isn't rendered unconscious, having the Azure itself start acting up like against Azrael and now that the Imperator can make him go haywire on a whim. To be fair, would any young, impressionable teenager get their arm cut off by gleeful psychotic, their home burned down, their sickly sister kidnapped and younger bro turning into a nutcase just decide to go "Well I lost everything I had and am now one arm less of a person, but all in all, I'm a lucky guy"?
  18. OK this is starting to get real comical. I mean how much more screwed can Ragna's life get? So what, him living on borrowed time while some unspeakable "evil" eats at him from the inside and his Azure Grimoire spreading wasn't enough for CP, so instead they now make his Azure Grimoire a "faulty" one that always eats souls? What's next, are we going to learn that in reality he was also dying of magical fantasy cancer that not even Celica's magic cannot cure and the only thing keeping him alive was the Imperator? I mean, I've heard of stacked odds but this is ridiculous. I'm surprised he hasn't been reduced to the same state Cloud of FF7 was after he took a nosedive in pure Mako.
  19. So I just watched the most recent uploads of Lizzie vs. Junpei, Mitsuru and a Yosuke. And I get that the Lizzie players were most likely new and still getting used to her, but DAMN watching them being able to attack with impunity while Lizzie was effectively forced to sit there and take it was one of the hardest things I've had a chance to witness. About the only plus I found was that SB Ghastly Wail was able to grab Mitsuru out of her hop-cancel J.B (she was still airborne at the time). It didn't win the match but at least it gave me some new info to chew on. I'd like to know how Damosu would have handled these 3. Mitsuru is still an uphill battle, Yosuke's Furious Action can stuff a lot of out approaches (like J.B, 5B and even 5D) and Junpei wasn't especially devastating, but annoying nonetheless. Yeah I agree especially now that we're no longer classified under the same glass-cannon status that we had in P4A. Well, we've still got the "glass" part of that, but "cannon" is no longer valid considering how much meter we have to burn just to match the damage of the rest of the casts' meterless shenanigans.
  20. I suppose I can concede to that. I've had my share of Kanji players constantly attempting his Bet Ya Can't Take This only to receive a Fistful O' Loitnin (durr hurr) for their trouble. Though now with access to Primal Force, I doubt this will be the case again. Yeah that's one of the things that bothers me. Another is Lizzie's SP consumption. While true that Lizzie gains it automatically, she also does not gain any from her own attacks either. And P4U2 only increased the necessity of our SB skills but since using SP actively prevents Invigorate from working for a set time, her meter gain suffers quite a bit unlike the others who can use an SB skill and then start gaining SP in the same combo from their attacks.
  21. I was mostly basing this off of P4A as opposed to P4U2. In P4U2, it isn't clear if Kanji is still the fish at the bottom of the barrel. Out of curiosity, how drastically would Lizzie need to be changed and what conclusions did you guys draw? Like what specifically could be improved and in what way? If you don't want to say it here then just message me in private. My sentiments exactly.
  22. Yeah, I'm noticing that too. For every point I've made, there's unforeseen consequences that can be applied. TheArm05 is right in the sense that having an OP character is not fun to fight. That said, it is equally unfun to have your character be bottom of the barrel and having to climb mountains to get by, while everyone else just takes an elevator ride upward. "Deal with it" we'll have to, but you'll have to forgive me if I sound a little bit salty over that . And yes, video stagnation is a terrible thing. We got some CMVs, but very little match recordings and those that we have, are often the same regular suspects.
  23. How did I not complain? By not going to tourneys and not giving a rat's ass about being a "pro". Of course, I was also young with GGXX being my first 2D fighter so there was that. Having grown older, I find I do complain but I always find ways to deal with it in the end. Complaining just lets me spit out my frustrations .
  24. Just because something is difficult to balance, that doesn't mean you can just give a half-assed attempt and call it a day. Balance implies you put some actual effort into a character. And to be perfectly honest, people complain all the damn time about what is and isn't overpowered. Hell, people complain about Arakune even now despite him being a far cry from his CT days. Well no offense, and as much as I hate using this phrase, those people that complained about P4A Lizzie deserved a "learn2play" response (which they did). I could take their complaints seriously if they used Kanji (who DOES have a hard time against Lizzie). But if they are using Mituru, Yu, Aigis and anyone else closer to the top of the Tier Pyramid then I'd kindly ask them to go and frak off. As for being top tier, I don't think anyone here is asking for ASW to do that for Lizzie. At least, I know I am not. But I don't think it is too much to ask for a character that can actually stand her ground a bit as opposed to being steamrolled by virtually anyone. Then I sincerely hope someone at ASW realizes the problems that Lizzie has and addresses them. Hopefully they are not dumb enough to force most Lizzie players to trudge through P4U2 with a sorely gimped character. And if they are, then they have no right to complain if and when many of them quit the game and take their coin elsewhere.
  25. Yeah I'm not happy how Ghastly Wail is now barely used. It seems like the © version is still the go to ender since the (D) version has no chance to be comboed into, while the (SB) version is just too high an investment even though it can be charged up. Alternatively, they simply don't know how to implement her properly. If you look at each of the other characters, you'll notice how they have clearly defined gameplans. Lizzie has been given, in theory, a tool for virtually every situation: -Can inflict virtually all status ailments, but especially Fear and is as of now, the only character capable of forcing Negative Penalty on the opponent. -Her specials all have large motions and cover a good amount of ground. -Has grab normals and a devastating command grab in Awakening. -Awakening is unique to her and changes her powers to match. -She is the only one to gain meter differently. -Can heal a lot of health potentially. All fine in theory and on paper. The problem is that all she has doesn't mesh well at all. Characters designed to be able to do everything, will end up not excelling at anything. And that's where Lizzie's greatest weakness lies. All other characters excel at something, but she can only offer up a half-assed attempt at what one character may excel at. Don't get me wrong: what she can do, like Elochai mentioned isn't necessarily bad. It's just not as good as what another character might do.
