  1. Well looking at the buffs for Bullet, I'm happy. I've been meaning to try out someone new for CP anyway but was constantly disappointed how unimpressive she was at the end of the day. Glad this is being addressed and that free Blackout for Lv.2 is damn welcome. The Kagura stuff kinda worries me since but since I don't even have the game yet, I guess I can't complain. Though, I wonder why ASW isn't holding loketests for this? I mean, does it take too much time, money or both to hold them? Not that I don't trust them to do a decent job with balancing but recently we got OP Kokonuts that was so potent, she ended up getting banned in some tourneys, a first that I've ever encountered for an ASW character.
  2. I find it weird how I can wake-up early to go to my crap job only to see the Arcade Opening and suddenly feel energetic enough to want to punch a bear in the jaw. I guess that's how long I've waited for a new GG and ASW is not holding back on me. Spring is just around the corner and then...SOON.
  3. Well yeah. Unless you're Slenderman, your legs will generally cover more range than your punch. You just suicided for no raisin.
  4. Don't remember any of that. The only time I recall ages being given out was during the early days of BBCT, where the 1st 3 characters (Ragna, Jin and Noel) were revealed to be 22, 20 and 18 respectively (along with different backstories). Then the other characters were revealed and then all this time travel loop nonsense was thrown into the mix and suddenly we don't have ages for these characters anymore.
  5. By real DP you mean one with Inferno Divider level of I-frames? If yes, then frak that idea straight into the Legacy Edge. If no, then carry on.
  6. I only remember the soul comment. He never mentioned the circumstances behind his "birth". Of course, it could also be true that he doesn't know either. Honestly, I think he only made that soul comment in order to convince a rampaging Mu-12 who at the time was having an existential crisis about being a "doll" that she, like him, is a "person" regardless of how they came to "live". He does it again in CP when Noel is feeling down and he consoles her that whether his arm is "flesh" or "steel", it is still his "arm".
  7. Appearance-wise, sure I'd definitely say that he's either in his early to mid 20s. But then again, he may not be a naturally-born human and like Noel and Nu-13, he may look the part, but could be either much younger or older depending on what exactly he is.
  8. Probably because of how much of role she played in the story or maybe just to break the trend. She technically is a "new" character, just not a playable one (that we know of). Or maybe she's incredibly popular in Japan or something and this is just fanservice to showcase her popularity. All games take skill to play, regardless of how "easy" or "hard" it might be for the individual player to grasp. Especially in fighting games where so much work is actually needed to develop said skills. What one player finds easy, another might consider the hardest thing they've had to learn. Are we to deny the time and effort someone put into a character simply because that one character can dominate like nobody's business if the player knows how to use them? But, I'd rather not steer this into a Kokonuts-centered topic so take from this what you will and I'll not press the issue further.
  9. But what if they just port Kokonuts as she currently is and ASW is only balancing everyone else around so they reach her level? Or at least equivalent thereof.
  10. So wait, doesn't this mean that the balance patch update will be made available prior to the West even getting their localized version (March 25th)? Not sure how I should feel about that. We are given the chance to play with the initial console version, but on the other hand, that version will be outdated and for the tourney goers this is likely a bigger concern.
  11. A character re-balancing in mid-March you say? Fuck yeah. Buff Haku-men and Kokonoe please. They're not killing the other characters fast enough and since some of them actually stand a chance against them this needs to be fixed. Please buff Makoto and Bullet. I think the poor girls have suffered enough, especially Makoto. Izayoi buffs couldn't hurt. Oh and nerf Hazama. I can stand most of the other top tiers, but just bust his ass down to mid for once, pretty please.
  12. It's a shame they're only focusing on the 4 of them (Kagura, Ragna, Noel and Celica) because I think people would have paid good money to see Tager and Azrael in those models.
  13. They actually designed a beachwear story sprite and they look pretty damn good. Color me impressed. I'm kinda hoping the episode itself becomes DLC over here for the PS3 version, but I suppose people would need a reason to get the Vita version...assuming it is localized to begin with.
  14. Oh SD, why must you make my stomach hurt so much? Now I gotta go and get surgery just to continue laughing this hard XD. Also, that exchange between Noel and v-13 is probably my favorite of the bunch. v-13: Please, self-terminate. Noel: Sincerity reading is false. Subject is being sarcastic. v-13: I am evidently the better unit. Your existence will only impair my image. Noel: At least I have peripheral vision. v-13: At least I have bigger breasts. Noel: ...bitch. Awesome work though and I'm eagerly awaiting Episode 3: Insert Revenge of the Jedi reference.
  15. That'd be kinda breaking the established rule (we can only have 1 instant-death trap ready at a time). And let us not kid ourselves; 75 SP for both Mahamaon and Mamudoon is a little overpowering despite their shortcomings as supers. Yup. We always could. Elochai posted some videos and one of the (admittedly poor) Lizzie players did that to try and psyche out the Yu player. It...didn't work but hey, points for trying I guess.
  16. Nope. Reports only state it summons the Mamudoon circle in front of Lizzie, though whether that means it is summoned in front of her current (ground) position or if it actively follows her movements before activating remains unanswered. Mahamaon is slower to activate but it has better recovery. Mamudoon activates quicker (I think ~3 in-game seconds less than Mahamaon's 10) but poor recovery. If SB Mamuddon combines the best of both worlds, I'd say that it'd be worth the 75 SP. Of course, that assumes someone actually experiments with it to begin with.
  17. Hmm, if the recovery is huge then that would explain why nobody used it yet. I was hoping you could go from SB Awakened.Mabufudyne>Mamudoon>stuff>Awakened.Magarudyne for the death but that seems to not be possible despite the freeze time involved. That's too bad. There's nothing more depressing to me than a character who cannot utilize all of their moves in a viable way. Call me old-fashioned but in my day, every character's move served a purpose in that characters tool set, even if it wasn't the best move in the game. Also, it appears I was wrong on that midscreen Mahamaon combo. It only needs 100SP, Burst and for you to be Awakened prior, which is no big deal for Lizzie. So yeah, mostly practical outside of maybe the Burst which we'd often need to get out of combos that break us.
  18. Dazardz brought up something I forgot: why is there no Mamudoon combos? It certainly activates quicker than Mahamaon and covers more of an area than it as well. Granted, it covers the area above Lizzie but you'd think with the new Awakened Magarudyne, it wouldn't be that much of a problem to land it. I'd have thought at the least that SB Mamudoon would be of some use since it is placed in front of Lizzie. Then again, Mahamaon and Mamudoon always were very situational supers since they disappear when Lizzie is hit (block or no) and with their pretty long wind-up. I'd still love to see someone pull them off in an actual match though. That'd be wicked.
  19. Was going to do a long-ass post in response to Strife but I think DaiAndOh may have more of a point. I'll withdraw my comment until later. Who knows, maybe ASW will re-balance things again for the console version...hey, a guy can dream. All for my waifu after all . If she could, that'd be a sweet deal. Screw being a big-damage glass cannon. Just gimme a ToD Mahamaon Lizzie stuff and we're in business. But then, Naoto'd be out of a job. Still, the new combo vid did show a mid-screen Mahamaon combo and it seemed semi-practical, despite the 150 SP requirement.
  20. TheArm05 already answered most of this, but I'll offer up my 2 cents here. Regaining health against Kanji is not all that difficult. His damage is a virtual death sentence to Lizzie but he has no real method to either close in or punish the (B)Mind Charge. Even if he did somehow get a lucky hit in to take the blue health away, a swift Diarahan will null his efforts. Try saying the same againt Yu, Mitsuru, Aigis, Yosuke, Yukiko, Chie and so on. It's why I brought up the idea that, if ASW is not willing to raise her health higher (seriously, forcing yourself down to approximately 2000 health for Awakening is far too risky for a character that has no real defensive options), they should at least: 1. Allow her to Awaken earlier since that's where she really gets going. OR 2. Give her defensive tools that are actually worth a damn. Shuffle Time and her Counter Assault are not going to do the job (as they are now) I'm afraid. I know how good (and essential) Mind Charge is for her. However, you must understand that unless you are able to read your opponent like a book, the chances of you regaining a good amount of blue healh w/o Diarahan against anyone other than Kanji are very, very low.
  21. Thing is, we know most characters got damage reductions all across the board, Lizzie included. Her damage is still respectable, don't get me wrong. It's just that everyone else has a more reliable, less restricted methods of landing their damage. Lizzie was the glass-cannon of P4A: -Horrible Health (7500). -Near worthless Furious Action (Shuffle Time) and an entirely useless Counter Assault, which meant very poor defensive game. -High damage off of various set-ups, especially with Fear. P4U2 saw her health increase to 8000 and gave her better tools (seriously, JC>JD is awesome), but the health is still incredibly low, her defensive options still suck and with her damage being low unless we pay an incredibly hefty price for forcing Awakening, things often go downhill really fast. Dazardz is right with his statement: Lizzie has gotten better in some areas and Awakening is very unique to her. Sadly, her buffs are far outshined by everyone else and it simply is not enough. I am willing to admit that since virtually nobody plays her in dear Nihon, finding out all she has is a slow progress. But based on what has been seen thus far, the picture is not as pretty as I'd like it to be. It isn't as bad as with say the CS2 to CSE Makoto, but Lizzie could still be so much more if you catch my drift.
  22. Just because Damosu can win with Lizzie that doesn't change the fact that 1. as a character, she's severely lacking (no reliable Furious Action/reversal option, almost entirely reliant on Thanatos, low health and lacking damage for a proposed glass cannon as of P4U2) and 2. she's outclassed by much of the cast and has no real advantage that other characters offer. Even Kanji of all characters can at least offer up the damage for his shortcomings. Damosu is able to use her well but even he has, what, 492 wins out of 953 games? And when that's one of the most prominent Lizzie players, then the future of Lizzie is looking turbulent at best. I apologize if I sound like a Negative Nick, but no matter how much I look at it and as much as I love the character, Lizzie needs something more than what she has now. I am not gonna stop playing her, but if my only option is to be as good a player like Damosu (which is a tall order on its own and I doubt almost anyone can do it) then things are not looking too good for me. But, it isn't all bad news though. I think ASW did have a decent idea when it came to Lizzie and with some polish, it can really shine. Pre-Awakening, she's not good. When Awakened, she really gets going. The trouble is that with her low health, she's playing a far too risky a game when she has no defensive options. And we know that ASW is unlikely to give her Kanji levels of health. But since Awakening is imperative to her gameplan, why not allow her to be the one character that can Awaken with lower health requirements. Most characters need to lose 75~80% to Awaken yes? So why not allow Lizzie to Awaken at 50%? That way you're still keeping her core gameplay intact but making it better and having her last longer if you're not going to up her damage. I also tinkered with the idea of giving her Shuffle Time a vacuum effect that draws the opponent in. They can still tech it, but at least this way, they can't simply jump out of it and JB punish it like Mitsuru can.
  23. I keep thinking that despite the lack of blue health, (A)Mind Charge > (SB)Diarahan is the safest bet due to (A)Mind Charge having no recovery. Granted you ARE blowing through 125 SP and may not have the full health, but when your offensive prowess goes through the roof, then you might as well bite the bullet. Full invulnerability Mind Charge would help IMMENSELY. Sadly, ASW doesn't seem to realize it. I agree. JC>JD was unexpected and I love it. I thought Thanny was awesome once he was able to JD a frozen opponent from (A)Mabufudyne but this is even more useful. Thanny in general seems to have more ways to survive unless you're being really stupid with him. We're ALL scared. Zoners can be dealt with (SB)Diarahan but it isn't like they'll just spam projectiles if they see you use it. The Holy Quartet (Chie/Mitsuru/Yu/Aigis) are all still incredibly strong and snuff out virtually anything we do to them. I can only hope that ASW does some re-tuning at a later date because, I shouldn't have to fish out Kanji's if I want to win.
  24. Footage of Lizzie actually winning for once and not by luck either. P4U2 12/31/2013 Leisureland Akihabara Damosu (EL) vs Kanji Kanji vs. Damosu (EL) Kanji vs. Damosu (EL) Yosuke vs. Damosu (EL)
  25. Only the B version should do that then. A version is still the single, stationary upward swing. Though, it is curious Ta was using Mabufudyne at all at that range in order to fish for hits. I mean, I know Maziodyne doesn't hit as much anymore but we do still have Awakened Maragidyne (that speed is no joke you know). Compared to that, Mabufudyne is incredibly slow and puts Thanny more at risk since it brings him closer to the opponent. Perhaps if ASW treated her with HP rivaling Kanji (or even maybe surpassing it ) then I'd understand it. I get that people would cry foul over a character who can force herself into Awakening, SB Diarahan and then have 13,000 HP again with damage reduction, but as it stands, Lizzie is just too fragile on that front with lowered damage overall. She needs an edge over the rest because right now, it doesn't look like she has it over any other character. Well besides Kanji, but who DOESN'T have an edge on Kanji these days?
