I've seen a lot of videos of Persona Sho and you will be blocking for a long time there as well. It was pretty funny watching Elizabeth vs Persona Sho, she couldn't do anything, just block, and die. Their (Sho and Persona Sho) neutral game is probably about the same. I mean Persona Sho has those teleports and such for cross overs, but they can be classified as gimmicks that someone with a decent reaction speed can just anti-air.

[P4AU] Mitsuru Kirijo Gameplay Discussion
AchedSphinx replied to LegendaryRath's topic in Mitsuru Kirijo
I suppose it depends on if she can cancel into droit on bufula's whiff. The explanation of the move seems vague. Nothing on if its on hit, whiff, or block. Anyways the difference between Mitsuru's sweep feints. P4U: 1-14 low profile P4U2: 4-25 low profile/chest invul I didn't notice this before, but since the invul doesn't start until frame 4, it should be safe to 5A on Mitsuru's wake-up now as Mitsuru. The sweep nightmares might be a thing of the past. -
GGs. It was fun playing you and Flux. I don't see either of you online much. Though, I've been playing Diablo too much recently. Time to derust myself, yet again!
-
I think the scariest thing about that combo, is that she managed to gain 100 meter from it to go into Shadow Berserk. Though she did get the first hit bonus as well.
-
Gonna get on if anyone wants to play.

GGs Digiops, it was fun playing your Aigis again. GGs Heavenlyspear. GGs RenaTurnip. GGs Force's lobby. BGs to the guy who sent me a message "STOP SPAMMING." I found it funny because he never blocked 5A or Bufula oki (though honestly, the guy in question probably doesn't frequent these forums, I just wanted to be vain and let everyone know).

The new OS will be saying "I'm so good at fighting games." For some reason, talking down about myself feels weird to me.

[P4A] Mitsuru Kirijo Combo Thread (Updated 9/20/2012)

Is there going to be a new Mitsuru combo thread or should we post new combos here? -
Aksys displaying Favortism toward certain characters?
AchedSphinx replied to fishnet's topic in BlazBlue Gameplay
To answer your question, yes there is one instance of favoritism: Noel. Aside from that, I don't see Hazama or Valk getting special treatment. ASW just gave them a mechanic that's really good in this game. Aside from them, most characters in the game fluctuate in strength. -

[P4AU] Mitsuru Kirijo Gameplay Discussion
AchedSphinx replied to LegendaryRath's topic in Mitsuru Kirijo
I haven't seen many Mitsuru players go for that j.B > j.C set-up so I'm not sure if she can cancel j.B on hit, but even still, I'm worried if she can actually follow it up with bufula. j.C now has 25 frames of recovery compared to 17 frames in P4A. So it might be one of those, it works, but the combo doesn't complete sort of things. Also, I stopped using that set-up after playing against LK a lot when he used to play more. -

Only her normals are translated right now, so we'll have to wait a bit longer to see the changes to her specials. -
Well, if you still want to play, I can get on.

The match-up works like Rock Paper Scissors half the time because sweep > 5A/droit; j.B > sweep/5A; 5B > sweep. Basically, if you want to win this match-up you have to read your opponent quite well. The way a match usually works is that it's decided in like five seconds, or both Mitsuru's are being really passive and spacing each other with 5D or something. In my experience, there's really no in between here (Check out the LK vs DIE-Chan video from Evo 2013, even at high-level play it can be decided in seconds). Though you can do certain things to make yourself more confident during pressure. Such as cancelling 5A or 5AA into throw set-ups, or even 5C. If you're afraid they'll sweep your 5A starts, try tossing in j.B or 2B or throw. You can also back dash on wake-up if your opponent seems to do 5A a lot, but you're unsure if they'll toss in a throw. 5A is still good in this match-up, you just have to know when to use it. Either way, your goal is to get the other Mitsuru player in the corner. Advice on this match-up is kind of weird because of how crazy it can be. That's probably why no one's asked for advice on this match-up, since it's really just a giant mind game. I've played Zeal plenty of times to know that (We trade win-streaks half the time). My advice probably didn't help much, but I'm not entirely sure what kind of advice would work in this match-up. Anyways, best of luck!

What does Sb and B mean under cancels? There's no information on it, unless I'm overlooking it. -
[P4AU] Mitsuru Kirijo Gameplay Discussion
AchedSphinx replied to LegendaryRath's topic in Mitsuru Kirijo
I checked out the frame data for Mitsuru and I'm pretty happy they buffed the active frames and recovery of her 5A. Not really concerned with the fact they nerfed it to 8f start-up though, since Mitsuru's rarely used it to poke out of things (though Chie resetting pressure with 2D and Yosuke trying to reset into Tentarafoo was usually the most common way I used it). She should still be able to punish things she was able to punish by being good at blocking. For instance, Yu's 214A is -4 now, so she can easily counter grab or 5A on block. Though it's not much, I felt that Mitsuru's AoA got faster (since she could use it mid-combo), so now it's 30F. Still incredibly slow, but at least now it has at least a slightly better chance to land (I'll still never use it for an overhead though). The recovery on her air persona attacks got worse. I didn't j.D often, but man 58F recovery is brutal. 2D seems like it got a lot better though. I see Mitsuru's use it like crazy now. Not much else to comment on until the rest is translated/added in the wiki. Good stuff Rath. You certainly are legendary. -
GGs to Jaguar, Zeal, and Ry. I'm getting close to 5k matches. Then its time to learn a new character. Maybe Elizabeth or something.
-
How come I never see you guys online when I play? Bad timing I suppose. GGs to the guys who joined my room and some randoms I played in player matches. My goal is 5k player matches played before P4U2 releases.
-
It's possible that it's Tsubaki only. From what the notes said, it could vary between characters, or vary between jump starters.

We're all nightowls it seems. Oh yeah, another thing you shouldn't do is AFK in the lobby. If you do, make sure you have like a turbo setting or something so that you won't get stuck while you're AFK. I can't tell you how many times that's killed NYGamers lobbies. This shouldn't be a problem if you don't go AFK for very long. Also, if you're getting a lot of spectator lag consider leaving and reentering to room so that the next game can start. Oh and be sure to inspect the players when you join. That way you'll know if they're around your level. Some of the better players like to play only against people at their level, so you might get kicked because of it.
-
The etiquette would be trying to join rooms where you have decent latency with the host. Don't skip intros because there's some kind of urban legend about that making games less laggy. There's also the urban legend about picking Mitsuru or Yukiko stage for less lag. You don't actually have to be good to join player matches. Most people are fine with whatever. You usually get kicked if you're too good though. If you're impatient and want more matches, then I suggest making a 2 person lobby so you don't have to wait. It's also a good way to learn.
-
Yeah it's happened to me before. Pretty rare though. I think it's when 2D whiffs during a combo and you try for 214D after and the opponent doesn't block for some reason. Since it's so close to the start you can get a decent combo off it, but it doesn't end properly. Kind of like how you can use 6C twice in a combo and it still completes.
-
I like the changes. They made her only viable defensive option slightly better. And they fixed those pesky 214D starters where I forgot the starter was 214D. If Nu's Astral is a hit instead of a throw, I wonder if she can just do the wheel then just do astral now. The overdrive thing could be fun if she can combo afterwards. Good stuff. I hope to see some gameplay.

Is it me, or does it feel like Mitsuru is the only character without a combo video right now? -
How so? Do you have some new tech you're willing to share?
