Holy shit. I might need to make the drive.
-
stream up
-
Exactly.
-
Actually, not gonna stream until later. I keep forgetting I need to encode these Persona 4 Arena casuals videos from last Friday. Will be doing some matches online though, while I wait for the videos to encode.

Warning: wall of quote replies incoming! I had tried to reply to some of these earlier while at work, but my internet crapped out during the submission and my phone ate the response. :| I'm not talking about those DPs. I actually tried never to DP when I'm in the corner, as it seems you have a way to bait and punish those every time. It's stupid, because wakeup DPs are supposed to make the opponent weary of being too disrespectful on someones wakeup, but instead people actually give less fucks if they see you doing DPs on wakeup. The DPs I was talking about were the ones I tried to do when I knew you were going to jump towards me, dash towards me, or try some other unsafe shit during blockstrings. I swear to god you took me from nearly midscreen to corner and hit for at least 4k often enough with that. If you have the meter to RC, I was fucked. Whereas if I have the meter to RC... what does it get me on plat? Not much, unless you're already in the corner. :[ Fuck your hitbox. Actually, the 214D Ice cars I use to get out of the corner sometimes. Unsafe as shit, but it often works. I also tried to hit you with random icecars going for gaurd break or rapid cancel. I gav eno fucks near the end, so I really didn't care if they didn't hit. I was pretty cool the first 20ish matches. Then I got robbed like fucking 3 matches in a row, and I started getting aggravated. The first 20ish matches were actually relatively close, compared to usual. I actually use CA a shitload against Moy. Ask him. It often ended up with me being put right back into a blockstring though... I'm starting to think I just don't understand how to approach the matchup at a fundamental level. Kind of like how I used to hate Tager matches. Man, I hated the movement loss I incurred from switching to stick, and I sometimes fuck up an IAD or even a dash very rarely, to this day. But the execution improvement everywhere else was by far worth it. Hey gli, remember those hilariously laggy West coast/East Coast matches we had the other day? Lulz. I play a bad character and lose. does that make me a winner? :D I'm gonna open a stream. Prepare yourselves.

I keep wondering this myself.

I meant 5B. Also her fucking DP... why can't I punish it? As far as that lag, I don't know how it let you redbeat that. I called bullshit on that, especially since it lagged during a point where you normally wouldn't press buttons (her item change). Yet if I try to do wallbounce combos you tech right out. Fuck netplay. I was doing pretty well during the first 15 or so matches, except for the first rounds for some reason. I can't seem to start matches out well against you. I just got pissed off because of the sheer number of times I got robbed. Whether a combo drops, a DP fails due to input lag which causes you to get the last confirm you need to kill me, or other shit. I actually was the least repetitive I've ever been against him in recent times... I got better, but Plat still beats the shit out of me. I get hit midscreen and lose nearly half of my life for it. What the fuck? Persona 4 may come out then, but I'll be flying back to Florida temporarily for training as part of my job during that time. Won't be back home in Cali until the 10th. Shit sux. Honestly considering bringing my PS3 and buying a second copy of the game... These matches just pissed me off more and more as I played them. I made sure to wait for one more astral to do a salty disconnect. I might not be as salty if I could just sit there and block until I get a chance to hop right out or DP, but no matter how well I do with defense, I'm stuck blocking shit forever because I can't DP (thanks input lag) or I get fucking hit trying to jump out. I also get quickly pushed into the corner trying to avoid being put into Plat's blockstrings.
-
Jin does not outpoke plat. Dude, your 5C vs mine: I lose. Fuck that shit. If she has such shitty defense, then why do you defend just fine? If you know the other character, her defense is fine. She does not need to be shitting out midscreen starter 5K+ combos, I'm sorry. The number of times I tried to DP when you ran towards me during pressure and the game said no... I got robbed of so many fucking matches. Lag making me drop fucking j.C>j.214A...
-
No, because then the character wouldn't be an issue. Fucking plat outpokes me and can confirm into 3k+ combos off nearly everything... fucking bullshit.
-
Fuck platinum.
-
DC can't handle the truth LK, we should try to test our connection. I wanna see how far west coast vs far east coast fares on netplay. I'm sad I can't play some of my Florida friends anymore, and just as sad about much of the East Coast folks I fought all the time.
-
That was a nice match. That combo was exceptionally awesome.
-
I still mash C, but yeah... I don't use any cues anymore. Learning it by watching the hits counter is fine, but after practicing it enough, it's no longer necessary. It's not like you could do that mid-fight anyhow.
-
This. Nothing is obvious if you're completely unfamiliar to fighting games. You can charge C? Oh fuck. I didn't know that at all... Guess that's because I kept forgetting about the C button, and kept using A, B, and D all the fucking time. XD
-
It leads into a super only if you have the meter for it. It's also a waste. You can get better oki and damage by not using the auto combo. That's some bullshit and you know it: Yu isn't as derpy or strong as Ragna... Chie doesn't have an assload of invincibility with the ability to keep cancelling all her moves if she misses.
-
If you mash A, you get a small combo. It's not great damage, but it's good SP gain. You can also cancel some moves in it into other moves, for more legit combos. The spacing required for the whole thing to connect varies for character to character though. With Mitsuru, for instance, you have to be pretty close for the whole thing to connect. You don't have to use the thing at all though.
-
Sure, after I eat some food first. XD
-
It's true. You know it is.
-
I used the combo counter to learn it, and assuming you started out with 5B>5C>sekkajin, I stopped around the 9th or 10th hit.
-
It won't be as bad since you're joining in at the start of a new game... but it will still be hard to beat people who have had years of FG experience. That's the problem I had in BlazBlue, but it was compounded by the fact that BlazBlue had been out for 2-3 years by the time I attempted to learn the game. Plus I had no FG experience going in.
-
This. Fucking this. Dude, I tried to scrub out people yesterday in P4A with my mashes, throw resets, wakeup DPs, and AAAAAA combos, and it worked... but only against those who had NO fucking idea what they were doing. Against the guys who actually had practiced and had learned combos and spent a little time in training mode (lucky bastards...) I got my shit beat. It's no scrubbier than BlazBlue. In fact, I think it's better because Arakune, Noel, and Ragna don't exist in the game.
-
First off, make sure you can do 6C at all after Sekkajin. If you can get that to redbeat, you only have to adjust a bit for 66C. If you're playing on a laggy display, finding the right timing can also be very hard. I didn't perfect it until I bought my Asus monitor. :/

FYI: If I can get 4G service, I'll be streaming casuals at gundamx86's place. You all should watch :P
