[CSE-CP] Jin Players List and Availability Information
Jyosua replied to Chris Chaos's topic in Jin Kisaragi
Mark me "yes" for the CP import. -
I'm not trying to play the blame game here either and normally we'd just move it to the next weekend or prior weekend without an issue. However, since there's a new BlazBlue coming out and our events originally formed solely around BlazBlue, this is a special day. Our main issue with Sunday is that we are afraid that not as many people will show up, due to work/school the next day. Additionally, there are people like Acid Ace here who have to ask for the day off to make it to our events and, because this event was supposed to be bigger, we are expecting a larger number of out-of-towners (San Diego, Las Vegas, etc.) to come. Normally, I'd rather ask to move it to Friday rather than Sunday, but it appears that your event is a two-day one, so that's not an option either. I will contact Aksys again to see what we can do regarding moving the date. I don't know how locked-in they are, or if it would be viable for them to change the date.

Hey Valle, A good number of us that can go, are planning to go to support the TRB event on the 24th. I wouldn't worry about that. We all want to see the game be as successful as possible, so its addition to TRB is welcome and we'll try our best to support it. Our main concern is our Rebel Up! event was supposed to be on the 26th. In the post I linked to above, both Chris and Cody affirmed that date and the resuming of our bi-weekly schedule with Watson way back in August, but it appears that it didn't get scheduled. I had been talking to Aksys since the end of August about doing an event in combination with Rebel Up!, and the last I spoke with them, they had agreed to work with us on the October 26th date. Russell appears to have contacted Watson about it, but didn't follow through with contacting him again like he said. On our end, we assumed Watson already knew about that date, since we had told him about it before. There's definitely been a communication breakdown here, but I'd really like to get this resolved as best as we can.

I'd been talking with Russell for months now regarding this, and told him to contact you regarding it. Obviously he did, but around those dates was about the same time that Valle started talking to them about TRB. If they decided to only work with Level Up, then they failed to let me know anything about that as well. I'll talk to them tomorrow and see what I can find out. We went from bi-weekly to monthly to take a break until BBCP came out. October 26th was supposed to be the first event in our return to regular bi-weeklies. I totally understand where you're coming from, and I think there was some miscommunication or confusion. The post where this was explained was here. Don't feel obligated to try to throw in any prizes or anything, but if you can somehow make it so we can still have our event on the 26th, that's more than enough. We just don't want to miss out on having our event that day, because we'll likely get a much, much larger turnout than normal.

I'm pretty certain Cody responded much earlier, stating the dates. I just got off an airplane, so I don't have time to look up the specific post right now, but it's the same one that you misinterpreted and scheduled us for the 28th last month. You guys have been really great to us in the past, but I am more than simply annoyed that our event dates have been screwed up twice in a row. Especially considering that is our BBCP release weekend event. Watson pls BibleThump

Given the new BlazBlue coming out, we've been aiming for October 26th as the next Rebel Up! event. I've also been talking to Aksys about the possibility of doing something special for this event, but we don't have anything concrete yet in that regard. As far as the venue, the only thing I can think of is the number of setups. With 3 ASW games and Gundam, we're starting to get stretched a little thin for setups. What we did the Saturday before last, with the table in the back and a few extra monitors for games, I think is a good way of dealing with that. We are probably going to want to make that extra table a permanent feature for our events.

Are you serious? Oh man, time to troll unlimited rooms online with Jin. 6B overhead is trolltastic.

Like him, I'd definitely be interested in going. I could probably save up for this. I think we could probably convince a number of SoCal players to go to this, given the number that have visited japan in the past year or two.

Go to TRB :V

[P4AU] Mitsuru/Shadow Mitsuru info - Loketest Discussion
Jyosua replied to LegendaryRath's topic in Archive
5AAA>2B>2D was the confirm I did in P4A when I got a really unexpected 5A anti-air confirm or didn't cancel 5AA into 5B on time. As long as it connects that far and the proration hasn't been horribly nerfed for 5AAA, it should be okay. There is always the chance it might not work though, even on OMC, if they made 2B too slow and nerfed the proration on 5AAA. This is the first Loketest, so we have no idea what will change, but let's hope for the best. On a side note, I wonder if 2D > [6B] will work off OMB combos? -

It might be a nice way to maintain gapless pressure too, I hope. -

That's news to me. What would be the point? Edit: Ah, that's interesting. Are we sure that's a system change and not them misunderstanding? If it's true, you can actually cancel using hops in more than one place, but the move won't be an overhead. I wonder what happens if you hop normally without it cancelling a move, since they were definitely overheads in the last game. -

Yeah, that sounds like we get some nice overhead mixup. I've also heard AoA is faster, but I'm not sure about that. -

Courtesy of Omecross: That last line makes it sound like 2D combos still work off a fatal starter. -
3 days. Edit: Jesus fucking Christ we all answered at the same time.

Yukari already looks like a zoner. Let's just hope she starts out much better than Yukiko did.

[Xrd] News & (Theoretical) Gameplay Discussion
Jyosua replied to Shinjin's topic in Guilty Gear General
I don't think anyone should honestly believe that they'd just go and throw out all of the work they've done on the series since #Reload. Initial game loketests often have a lot of placeholders and missing things. -
My experiences with using Hizansen to space were rather positive... they can't punish if done at the right distance, but you may or may not have to block after landing. Sometimes you can backdash away. To explain this better, Hizansen is a level 4 move, so 18 frames of blockstun. Assuming they block it on its first active frame, you get 16 frames to land and recover for it to be +/-0. If done close enough to the ground, this is practical. Even if the move ends up being as much as -4 or -5, keep in mind that they'd have to close distance before being able to use a move that fast, so you'd likely be able to recover and backdash or block. It's a similar concept to Mitsuru's 5A, but with landing recovery involved. Something you might be able to do with j.D is airdash forward and j.D before crossing over, and then quickly use Hizangeki for an ambiguous crossover that should put you back on the side you started on, safe enough to land and block at worse. It has a good enough hitbox that hits a little below and behind it, but this will probably be tricky to pull off. I saw some crossover hizangeki hits land at AX. I also know that if you airdash and j.D, you keep your momentum enough to keep crossing over, whereas Hizangeki stops your momentum and pushes you back quite a bit.

It's definitely true that P2 is also applied. As for as why 6C seems better than 6B despite the latter having the better P2, I'm pretty sure that's because the combo routes end up being slightly more optimal (less lower P2 moves needed) for a 6C starter, leading to overall better damage. While you might be right about 5B(2) being a better starter than 5C, good luck confirming that. XD
