[CP1.1] Makoto Nanaya's Gameplay Discussion - When's 2.0?
Teutonicknight replied to HiagoX's topic in Makoto Nanaya
I can handle it decently outside of netplay, but online, I'm horrible, even with a regular controller. I don't know how you guys do it, much less with Makoto, who's probably the least lag-friendly character I've ever seen. But then on the other hand, I don't have much experience online, nor have the time to really practice much. You could say I am a bit of a scrub, and you'd be right. -
[CP1.1] Makoto Nanaya's Gameplay Discussion - When's 2.0?

I have an arcade stick, but I only use it locally. Screw using those things online, it doesn't listen to me. (lol...) Different analog stick placement is not a problem at all, I'm used to PS2 controllers, and they are pretty much the same exact thing. And I have some experience using PS3 controllers for BB, and they work good with Makoto for me in my experience. But before I go off topic yet again, did I hear this correctly? Makoto's 2b was buffed? I might have commented on it before, but I don't think it was confirmed at the time. Anyone know about this? -

Xbox is kind of pissing me off a little anyways (lost count of how many problems really), so I may have more then one reason to switch to PS3. I think I remember the PS3 controller being more FG friendly as well. -

Other way around. By artificially better, I meant her (midscreen) damage was buffed a bit instead of her actual moves/specials and tools. And her OD is okay to say the least, and looks fun, but some other characters have ODs that are beyond retarded, to the point where it won't really matter much. But at the very least, she is looking better than EX for sure, just not by a super huge margin. I'm still trying to decide if I should get a PS3 just for this though. Is it absolutely for sure a PS3 exclusive? -

Is the move still the same speed as before? I thought I heard somewhere it's possibly slower, but watching the videos, I can almost swear it's faster, lol. -

I was thinking for a second they'd be falling too fast for the 5CC, if it still connects, then that's good. When I saw people not following it up, I started to get a bit worried. So I'm guessing only the timing is a bit awkward with the faster fall animation, right? -

I said on top of a PS3. It'd probably be more appropriate if I said more like a 4th of my check, since the rest goes to bills. I'm hoping it can be followed up, I'm sick of all these uncomboable special moves. -

Nah, I am well aware that Makoto is better, but not in the way that I wanted to see. That, and the game itself looks... kind of boring. Idk if it's worth half my paycheck to get a PS3, on top of CP, just to see my Makoto get slaughtered for another year. I will be keeping a close eye on CP though. I am hoping for the best. Edit: I am staying on topic now, but seriously, does the new Stargazer do anything now? Or is it a single-hitting low attack for sure? Or just strict? -

I am kind of re-considering buying CP, mainly because they only made Makoto artificially better. Better wall carry, midscreen damage, OD does something, etc, all that mumbo jumbo. Where's the buffs to her actual moveset? you know, the fun stuff? All I see are nerfs outside of the "good" I mentioned. Useless stargazer? No thanks... -

Makoto can get halfway decent rewards, but compared to everyone else, it's really screwed up. At the very least, you don't have to take just chunks of the opponent's health at a time like with Tsubaki. With Makoto, it's all about getting your big hits in. Easier said than done, once again... -
Glad I set the standard for the stupid posts, lol. If I were to have another idea for a character, it would be someone who switches between drives overtime. Completely randomized, the character can end up either being super ungodly broken good, or just plain bad, depending on just what drives they get in a row during combos. It would be something like MK Trilogy's Chameleon, how he shifts through all the other ninja's playstyles. It would be pretty neat to see what this kind of character's highest damage combo would be.
-
By stupid, you mean totally overblown to the point of no return? That won't take long, lol. We need a character who's drive is the "Nerf Bat", and the Astral would be the "Ban Hammer".
-
I want to see a two-style character like what Zelda has in the smash games, an opponent that makes you have to change strategies entirely throughout the whole match. Not like Valk where it's a temporary transformation, but a full-fledged style with it's own set of specials, normals, and Distortions. Basically a character with double the amount of moves than everyone, but no real Drive to gain a seriously huge advantage. The style switch IS the drive.
-
I hate this crap too, and it is somewhat prominent on BB... It's ridiculous. Maybe they just like Blue Beating enough to wait for the timer, lol
-
That falls into the category of people taking the game way to seriously, IE in it to win it, while having little to no fun doing so, and are usually jerks. That's a peeve of mine as well.
-
I think Tager scares noobs more than Lambda does once they figure out air-dashing and how she works. Tager on the other hand, would drive them nuts, lol. They would complain "too hard to kill, too much reach, invincible moves galore, grabs do too much damage, Spark Bolt is the best projectile ever (true), combos are just as good as everyone else's, can't attack him from the air, can pull you closer so he doesn't have to move" I remember my first impressions on Tager when I first fought him. I honestly thought he was the best character in the game, until I realized legit ways around his grabs, SB is not as daunting as it seems if baited, and "armor" moves get broken by stronger attacks. He was a "former" peeve of mine, but no longer so. I do still hate Stylish Tagers though, they abolish the fun.
-
Probably just an uneducated schmuck trying to sound smart, haha. I don't like going up against someone who doesn't have at least 1 brain cell, that's a peeve unto itself. Yeah, going to kind of suck, but since you don't have to wait as long, you can always room hop, albeit, that's going to be hard to do right when the game comes out. :/ It's going to be crowded as sh*t.
-
If there is an even number of people in the room, it should go with multiple pairs instead just one pair at a time. that is pretty damn annoying. And when someone asks me to skip my turn, I might as well leave the damn room, because I don't want to wait 30 more minutes for my turn again.
-
Hehehehehe, Co-op mode Carl and Relius, that would be fun...
-
That's a rather strange peeve, lol. Here's one- I hate it when another player online passes the controller to someone far more skilled without you knowing. I think I've seen this happen a couple times, but one time for sure, I knew someone passed it. Caught all on the mic, I was apparently playing someone's little bro, and when the big bro came in, it was a totally different ball game. (I was the ball)
-
She's just one of those characters who isn't really as interesting as everyone else in terms of playstyle. I mean, I don't mind playing against her, and I have respect the people who are fans of her, but she really doesn't offer much in terms of fun for either sides. Idk, maybe it's just me. Another peeve I have is when someone says my character (Makoto) is OP and needs more nerfs. LMAO, ARE THEY SERIOUS!? xD
-
I can kind of agree with this... Tsubaki is not very fun to play against.
-
Oh yeah, both of these situations absolutely suck, and happen at really bad times. I hate looking like the ragequitter in the first scenario, and the opponent leaving the controller kind of eliminates the purpose of even playing with them. Another peeve I have randomly when playing online is; WHEN MY EYES START TO BURN FOR NO REASON AT THE START OF A MATCH!! I can't pause, and have no quick way of telling the opponent what happened (unless I have a mic). Not only am I basically blind the whole round, the second round has me handicapped with the teary after effect. People who had this happen before know what I am talking about.

It's disheartening to hear that these new specials don't seem to combo much. Kokonoe: "Hahaha! Try blocking THIS without taking a world of chip damage Makoto! >:D *parries the whole stream of the beam, not a single scratch* Makoto: "How was that?" :3 Kokonoe: ಠ_ಠ
