Of course I agree 100%. The only reason I drank so long last Friday was cuz I didnt play any games that night. Normally I wouldnt go drinking till after 12, and its never been a problem on regular nights like that. I plan to do much less drinking and much more playing now that SBO is coming up soon. That was just a special circumstance for Emmets birthday. I actually wasnt gonna do much drinking at all the next day cuz of Gods Garden but by then it was too late, heh. Thanks for the concern though. Im much more in the mood to play right now than drink anyway.

I have no idea about actual number statistics or anything. Its just a noticeable difference when you go from one to another. Im sure other people have experienced this as well. Why do you ask?

yes, the arcade version isnt as fast, so it takes me a slight bit getting used to whenever I play AC on console again. Once you play it for a bit you get used to it again but its a little disorienting at first

Thanks Axel. Ugh just bad timing on my part. I checked that thread and even POSTED in it... but I just stopped looking at it cuz it was BB only and I sorta dont care about BB. And the worst part is, the guy who posted the link to the Johnny-o cup posted it THE NEXT DAY after I posted and figured the thread was of no interest to me. Just bad timing.... Anyway, I have no one to blame but myself I suppose. In the future, if anyone knows about any Japanese GG tournaments that arnt listed in Arcadia, could you do me a favor and please just post about it here in this thread? It would be a big help to me, and I of course would write a detailed report about the event after playing in it.

so on my blog poll, several people have already voted that they knew about G3. Was there a thread on here for it that I completely missed? Where did you find out about it from? It would be good to know for future reference because I really dont want to miss any more tournaments.

Gorehound, Dont you think releasing the old version (AC) right before the new one comes out would just be pointless? No ones going to play AC anymore if they make a new GG fighting game. (at least not competitively since there will be no tournament scene for it anymore... well I guess in the US theres already no tournament scene anymore but you get my point). Personally I think it would be smart to do it sooner than later if they are really going to make a new GG fighter. Otherwise they wont make as much off it.

lol I know the proper way is 婚約している Killerwatt, were not actually getting married for a couple more years. And besides, Ryoko is awsome. She knows what my hobbies are and is totally fine with them and would never want me to stop doing something I love. I wont be quitting fighting games lol

I never went to a Japanese university since I already had my degree when I came to Japan so I never did much research on them, but I know lots of people who have attended various universities in Japan. I know some of them read this thread so maybe they can help you out. I have been near Tsukuba University though. Its in Ibaraki-ken and has been where some quals were at in the past. Never been to Kobe yet.

thanks guys! JET is the JET program. Its basically a company that sets you up with a Japanese contracting organization so that you can teach English in Japanese schools. Basically its how I got my current job to put it simply. If you wanna know more just google search JET program and read about it. also I updated something. I couldnt remember those lyrics so I mailed Masami and heres the updated part Masami was also telling me funny stuff about how when Japanese people hear certain English songs they think it sounds like something else in Japanese. For example, in Kickstart My Heart by Motley Crue, the part where they say "Oh! Yea! Kickstart my heart, give it a start!" sounds like KINTAMA HARU HODO NEBATTA which means "somethings wrong with my balls." also the chorus of I Got The Time by Anthrax sounds like CHINCHIN CHIGIREMAHEN, which means "penis never split" or something like that, according to Masami. LOL!

dont worry, most of the OG top tier GG players still play GG regularly. Most of the well known GG players who switched to BB only arnt the ones that would be winning tournaments a whole lot in GG. Lots of them play both but GG is far from dead　in Japan.

Just noticed this thread Good shit on keeping GG alive Rod! Im at work so I cant watch any of this stuff now but im sure the matches are epic Regardling Bleed, he plays from time to time but lately I see him play more BB than GG. He might start playing GG again more for SBO practice.

Very happy to see GG back! I will be going through the quals gauntlet here in Japan again this year! Looking forward to it! Im also surprised to see Basara X taking up a slot. Really? Over melty? I never see ANYONE play that shitty game. Also a bit disapointed that its SFIV over SSFIV but since they wont have an arcade version out by then (if one ever even comes) I guess it cant be helped. Also, interesting that they switched BB to 2v2. I dont really think I will enter any BB quals but it should be interesting.

I would actually like to but unfortunately I have to work a little later this Friday. Students are taking some sorta standardized test and I have to monitor them while they take it. I finish work at 5:30 which means the next train would be like after 6 and I wouldnt get there in time. Normally though I arrive in Tokyo at 8 so I could be at TRF by 8:30 if I get out at my normal time. So, perhaps in 2 weekends from now we could do it, but this weekend wont work. Is it a 2 vs 2 or 3 vs 3? If its a 3 vs 3, Matt could join our team too. He plays Sagat and is learning Akuma. In any case, if you wanna come and play some games and go drinking with us this weekend, please feel free.

yea pretty much. they have one every wednesday night at Mikado but I cant go to those cuz I have work during the week sucks... i might try to enter some SFIV tournys though unfortunately, at least tournament scene wise from major aracdes, BB is sorta making GG take a back seat...
