  1. Looks like Shadow Labrys has 0 air-tight block strings.
  2. I like the sound of that better. lol. I wonder what Yu normals were beating out Shadow Lab's though?
  3. I guess her jB just covers a wide range and isn't exactly long? I could imagine Yu's jB beating hers since it extends pretty far (or at least it looks that way). And then of course 2B I would expect that would just eat her jB too.
  4. Oh wow, is everyone's hitbox info out already? Would be interesting to see the boxes on her other moves too.
  5. You can, it's actually required in one of the trials I believe.
  6. Yeah I agree, I can already imagine the crazy mixups people are going to come up with. So much room for creativity for this character.
  7. Feel free to come visit. Actually I think a couple of you guys stopped by thanks to Tectal's link. Also, I wouldn't mind sharing info with who ever becomes the Shadow Labrys mod here. We're basically working on the same stuff, so it would acutally be pretty helpful / better use of time for both of us.
  8. P4U is happening in Jacksonville?
  9. Well you have a good amount time to confirm off 2C, CH jB, 5D crossups, and her command grab, if you're that worried about confirming. But honestly, confirming in this game doesn't seem that strict. At least not in general. Also 5D guarding is another thing you'll have to use on defense.
  10. Her damage doing 5k combos require her to be in awakening mode (in other words, you need to be somewhat near death to do the high damage combos). Outside of Awakening, her damage away from the corner and at the corner isn't all that great..... but that doesn't mean things won't change after people start grinding out on the console port. As for doing 4 mixups to kill an opponent at 1/4 life..... S. Lab will do very little damage to her opponents when they are at low health (due to awakening mode giving them higher defense). That just means you gotta make sure you capitalize on all the damage you can so that they enter awakening at the lowest health possible. But it shouldn't take 4 mixups to kill an awakened character if you're maximizing your damage..... 3 mixups at most. Don't worry about her being a good or bad character. If you look at the match vids, you can see she still gets her share of wins. Just play the character you like.
  11. You could prolly just ask one of the Charlotte locals to drive you to ReSe if your parents won't. ReSe is in the same city, so it probably wouldn't be too much of a hassle for someone to get you there.
  12. There's some good S. Lab players, they just aren't on Nico / Youtube very often. But come console release, there will probably be a lot of new discoveries with her. Hell, I'm actually waiting to get my hands on this console port so I can try out all this stuff I've been thinking of testing out over the past few months. :V
  13. 7:30 at the Apartment Complex Lounge. Address (for those who don't know) : 1337 Old Apex Rd. Cary, NC Yes, 1337 is the real address. :V
  14. Had fun playing Blazblue with you guys, Dale, Blake, Armando. It's so refreshing to actually play matches offline. You guys have no idea. :V I'll be playing games at Lingmassacre's gathering in Cary this Saturday (and bringing a CRT + PS3 dedicated to BB and AH3), in case anyone wants to stop by and play.
  15. An anime game stream would be pretty awesome. Also, I'll run down basics and all that, should be easy since we both use the same character. would have been nice to get in some games. But yeah, one of these days we'll be at the same tournament / event. xD
  16. I'll be going, of course. Gonna be bringing my PS3 for Arcana 3 casuals in case anyone wants to play (and I'll bring my copy of BB if you guys need an extra for the tournament). Also, does Storm Underground 5 have a tournament thread. I skimmed through srk, but didn't see anything. Could have just missed it though....
  17. I would say stick with Target. Not that I know much about GS..... But every person I've ever known to work at GS has always had the same thing in common. They all pretty much stressed that the job was ass and/or quit within a couple months.
  18. Long post incoming...... This discussion seems so relevant to the first time I posted here. lol. For a tournament player (and that player's community) nothing should be good about online. People can practice online all they want and say it's a great tool or whatever..... But it won't be so great when everyone's given up hope on the game because other players are chilling at their house netplaying all the time. Not to mention online will never replace offline. And besides....Do you know how many people are on the phone, trolling, half asleep, or joking with friends while you're on the other side of the internet thinking you're learning something in a video game? It happens a lot more than you think. Get out and play the game with actual people in person. Of course, if you aren't a tournament player for the game..... Then fine, netplay is fun and all. But if you have any intent on actually competing and contributing anything to your community, don't fool yourself into thinking online will do anything good for you in the long run. And for those who might disagree with me (because I know someone will).... You probably don't know much about the tournament scene for anime games outside of Blazblue. You probably don't anything know about playing a tournament game on a PS2 in a next gen era, or driving 2 hours every weekend just to get casuals in with 2 or 3 dedicated players, or going so far to support a game that you use your own tournament winnings to give new players free entry in their next tournament. A lot goes into supporting a scene that isn't Capcom/Namco, and sitting at home online isn't in the formula. This isn't MvC3 where you can be netplayer #12543, and no one gives a shit because tournaments still have great attendance and everybody wants to play. You're playing a game that most people shrug off, and every person counts. Also, another thing you guys should think about..... why the hell can someone drive 2 1/2 hours from another state to play BB, but other people can't take a walk into their own back yard? Hell, don't even care that much about BB (or any FG nowadays for that matter). The majority of my desire to support this game comes from me simply knowing how hard it is in tournament scenes for anime games in the first place.... But who wants to have anything to do with a game where the players are just chilling at home cooking up their grimy ass online tactics while talking about some ggs over some netplay matchmaking thread all day? While I know some people have legit reasons (like no car), there's no reason why other players can't step up and offer to carpool. Anyways, I'm done with my rant. Forget online, contribute to your community, travel, get better. Back to not posting in here for another 1 or 2 months. :V TL;DR: Take the ethernet cord. out. of the PS3.
  19. Prolly just gonna make other plans. It's already Saturday and only one person confirmed for games in jacksonville.
  20. Yes, everyone come to southeastern Georgia. I want people to play anime games with. xD Also, I could possibly make it to Jacksonville tomorrow (not sure, but will know some time tonight). How many of you guys are planning on coming out / how long is everyone meeting up? While last time was fun, it would be nice to play with more than 1 person / more than a couple hours.... considering that's how long it takes for me to get to Jacksonville anyways. D: Haven't touched Skull Girls yet, but I could learn it on the fly I guess... :V Other than that, I'll play BB with you guys. I'd also be down for some Arcana (if anyone will play with me :< ).
  21. Anyone who's interested in playing BB or Arcana tomorrow (Friday) in Raleigh : I'm in NC, and bringing my PS3 to Jon's gathering (since I know other setups will have priority for Marvel 3, SFxT, etc).... Only thing is that I won't be bringing my TV, but I'm pretty sure we'd be able to use Jon's CRT. Hopefully I'll see some of you guys there. I wanna play some anime games!!
  22. It's within 15-20 minutes distance, so I would say it is. xD But there are actually gatherings (for fighting games in general) in Cary.... if Jon is still hosting? Not sure since I left NC.
  23. I dunno.... Where in NC are you? There's a few people who play in the Raleigh Durham area (Titanium Beast / Cerulean / RoboCurse), and then a good number of people in Charlotte too, and one or two in Greenville.
  24. edit : actually, forget it. I'm not like I'm a part of you guys' scene, so it's you guys business how you play. get that netplay.
