Ruben's hosting today? If so, what time? After 7? -
I did some testing on these, albeit not in +R (SW in Accent Core and FB SW have the same start up and hit box, right?). Air backdash j.D SW worked on Pot, but only when he was standing. The SW just doesn't have quite enough time to come out otherwise. It would also be hard to hit confirm, so you'd be burning 25% on a guess. nj.S SW worked on everyone I tested it on, so long as they were standing, so I think that could work as a throw punish. Not quite sure if that's exactly what you were referring to, though (the j.D definitely does not leave time for SW to come out, and if you instantly nj.S, the j.D whiffs). Also, it looks like a lot of the places iad sj.PH is used can be replaced with j.K FB SW. So long as the j.K connects, I think the SW should as well (it is possible to be a little too far/too low, though, although if they're closer j.S may connect). It seems like this should lead to some solid damage, but I never really see Sol players using it. Oh, and iad j.P FB SW should work too. I also think WT iad j.P FB SW should be useful as an unburstable combo starter, because of all the characters WT iad j.P CLSW doesn't quite work on, but I never see anyone use that either.

Arc Revo qualifier: Sol vs Satou (Johnny) Google translate tells me the Sol's name is "Ogi-chan" [original info here], but I don't know how reliable that is. There's a fair amount of Sol in A-cho's recent tournament as well. The normal colored Sol is lol. Also this Sol seems fairly solid. Anyone know who this Sol is?

Enjoy Portillo's! I can't imagine the wait will be that bad; it's a Monday and I think the initial rush has died down a bit. The wait was down significantly the last time I was there (but it was at an off-time). -

I should be able to make it this Sunday. Hopefully there will be enough people. -
Some general stuff links: Some general info/combos in the posts on this page. Guilty Bits ep. 4 - Sol Old basics video. As for your questions, there aren't really any damaging combos without clean hits. Sol's biggest damage outside of that are usually j.D and VV. Bandit bringer and Gunflame do decent damage as well, but they can be hard to combo into. These are good to fit into combos if you can (usually), but they're generally not worth losing the knockdown for. Dashing air combos that hit with j.D twice and end with VV knockdowns are probably the biggest damage on average without clean hits. Well, Gunflame FRC -> Bandit Bringer loops do a lot of damage, but they burn lots of tension, the timing is tight, and they don't work on everyone in AC (although I think they should in +R). Also, you should really be able to get at least one clean hit Sidewinder, even if you're just starting. Getting 3 can be harder at first, but 1, and even 2, shouldn't cause much trouble. So, a basic WT combo might be: WT, j.S xx Clean Hit Sidewinder, dash, j.SD jc dj.SD VV kick. Ending one or two clean hit combos with a VV is fine, but when you hit 3 or more, you'll usually want to end with bandit revolver instead, as VV -> kick stops comboing.

Nope. I was only counting openings for tournament matches. Still looks awesome, though. -

Ugh, I forgot about the Hazbats today. Sundays are just not a convenient day. I think I can still make it, though. -
I didn't see a 3 rep loop in there, though I haven't watched the whole thing (just the part you linked). I haven't seen anyone hit 3 reps yet.

Pretty sure that's Izumi, aka Koro-Chan.

As Ruben said, I wasn't able to show up this last time because of school, and this week is finals week, so I'm pretty busy. But next quarter should, in theory, be better for me. So, I will probably be able to make it next time (is it every other week again?), and maybe some other times as well. -
Very nice. I wasn't entirely sure what you meant with your previous post, so the video helped. And I like your choice of music.

Baiken in AC is relatively easy in comparison to her older #R and Slash iterations. I don't think she's hard to pick up and use, but she lends herself to bad habits for learners (over-reliance on counters being easily the biggest offender). Her BnBs aren't hard imho, but her advanced combos can be pretty frustrating. I also think she's one of the hardest characters to play online. Counters require tight timing and small amounts of error can result in huge punishment from good players, and I still have never gotten Sakura FRC down online.

Yeah, I've been having PSN trouble as well. Wish that room could've stayed open longer; I wanted more games against you and RockVolnuttX. GGs to everyone I've been playing.
-
GGs to everyone I've been playing lately, especially brkrdave and guambombboy. Sorry for challenging you two on ranked so much tonight, but I like playing against people I can't beat (and good connections help, haha).
-
Thanks. I thought it was a little more than +/-1 of my rank, so good to know. And GGs to everyone I played. I still have a long way to go in this game.
-
GGs to everyone I've been playing, especially guambombboy and brkrdave for kicking my ass the other night. Sorry if I misspelled either of those names. And I know people have complained about this before, but I still don't get how this ranking system works. I lose a bunch of matches in a row, multiple of which are to people within one rank of me, and then I get a rank up battle and happen to win it. So, I go 1-5 or so and rank up on the one win. Strange. Well, not like the ranking system means much anyway I guess. I'm just curious.

Were you SenaXLena (sorry if I misspelled it)? If so, we had a few epically close matches there. I thought for sure you had that one that I won by time up; the health amounts looked the exact same, haha. I thought you had the general idea for what to do, actually. May needs to abuse her normals and fish for counter hits while zoning, Baiken needs to zone the hell out of Sol, and that's what you seemed to be doing for the most part. Mostly there were some matchup specific kinks to iron out, like not using 6P against Sol with May except against Riot Stomp, and also not using 6P with Baiken when Sol is on the ground because 2D counter hits hurt. I can try and give you more specifics if you want. Just PM me if so (although it may take me a while to respond -- I have been very busy of late).
