  1. Yes. But it does result in lots and lots of dropped combos. =P
  2. I thought I usually say GGs to you in the IRC chat. But, yeah, GGs man.
  3. GGs Ruinz. I hate your Zappa. I swear I should be able to 5K those jump-ins you're doing, but I think I'm just a few frames late each time. Nice dog and ghost blockstrings, though! Also, your Johnny has gotten way better from what I remember.
  4. Play me in AC online sometime if you want to see me drop combos all day long. Doing sidewinder loops in frame delay is And I'm still around! ...I've just been busy/haven't had much reason to post. =/
  5. I may be wrong, but I think the main point was about the cell phones actually being in use. So, if that's right, storing it should be less of a problem than actually having it against your head and talking into it.
  6. GGs to Pinko, Izule, and dbi. Izule - Sol just does not seem like a fun matchup for Zappa in #R. dbi - Ugh, sync errors. Not trying to use them as an excuse or anything, but I don't think they are helping against your already frightening Eddie.
  7. GGs dbi. All of your characters scare me. =P
  8. I could be that your ping is too high. I usually can't watch games unless my ping is under 60, and if it's much over 120, I usually can't challenge either. Or it could just be screwy. Every now and then I have lots of people show up as "No Response," and there are times challenges just won't seem to go through.
  9. I don't think there is any real "ping over," since there isn't any lobby. You just find what someone's ping is and adjust the delay accordingly, or increase it if it's lagging.
  10. Keep in mind that there are only 3 characters above B tier (2 in S and 1 in A), and 16 below it (14 in C and 2 in D). IMHO, there's also not a whole lot separating the tiers in this game, so characters in B are, I think, closer to the top than they may appear.
  11. I think Chipp is ok, and he has less trouble with Potemkin than Sol does imho. But I do think Chipp can be kind of hard to play because of how much damage he takes. It just doesn't leave much room for mistakes. Jam and Slayer are certainly both good, although I think Slayer's a bit better. I don't really think you can go too far wrong with either of them, though, as they're both solid characters. If you care about tier lists, the current tier list has both Sol and Chipp at C and Jam and Slayer at B.
  12. Sol's Bandit Revolver is auto-jump installed in Accent Core, so you shouldn't need to store the jump at all. However, his j.H is not jump cancellable, so that could be the problem. j.S is the only move you can jump cancel with Sol in the air. Oh, and only Sol's air Bandit Revolver can be FRCed, although his ground BR can still be RCed, of course. Also, I think the correct combo you're looking for is: 5K (or 5s or 2K or whatever starter you want) 2D BR RC j.S JC j.D xx CLSW You do seem to have the basic idea of jump install down, though. However, it's really not that useful for Sol in AC -- I think you can use it with Bandit Bringer, Riot Stomp, or just regular old super jumps, but it really doesn't have many practical applications for Sol.
  13. Most people have moved on to AC, but there are still people who play #R online. Speaking of which, there is online play for #R for the PC. Check the online play forum -- you should be able to find details and how to set it up there.
  14. GGs wildsol, Rannos, IVAN, and anyone else I've played. wildsol - I really like your Robo-Ky. Too bad we lag, though -- seems odd given our ping.
  15. GGs Izule. I like your Ky.
  16. GGs Cola and Can. Cola - I don't really use MSN. Your best bet would be to catch me on AIM (same SN as here) or in the #reloadonline chat. I usually log into the chat after playing. Can - Nice Sol.

    Sol IK setup?

Unless I'm greatly mistaken, you can't combo into IKs.
  18. This is probably going to sound obvious, but training mode, training mode, training mode. Really, there's no substitute. Playing actual matches can help as well, but without training mode, you can find yourself cementing bad habits just as easily as learning good ones. That said, I don't think there's really any way to learn combos faster; it's basically just repetition until it becomes muscle memory. Maybe learning long combos piecemeal can speed things up, I guess. The more you learn, the faster and easier it will get, but there's not any shortcut way to go about it that I know of. It just takes time.
  19. There's really no need to beat yourself up if you can't do the full loops yet. Think of it as a work in progress. Also, there's nothing wrong with going for only 1 or 2 SWs if that's all you can get consistently; it's generally more important to hit the combo and get the knockdown than risk dropping it for a little extra damage anyway.
  20. Shouldn't this be in either the combo thread or the Baiken matchup thread? Or maybe just the AC Sol general thread? Seriously, we have threads for these questions; you can use them! Anyway, if you're having trouble with TK CLSW stuff, the problem is probably your input or timing or whatever -- it's entirely possible to do them on a pad or a joystick. If you're doing a neutral jump CLSW, you don't actually need to TK it at all; just jump straight up and then input the SW motion. This should be pretty simple with a little practice, and even leaves some room for nuance (the SW motion doesn't actually have to be inputted instantly, so you have a little time to change when/where it hits). If you're going forward, though, you have to TK it. The motion is just 2369H, which isn't too bad on a pad or joystick either. Some loops (which have almost certainly been posted before) to get you started: WT, dash under, 2H, nj.CLSW, 2H, nj.H xx CLSW, nj.S xx CLSW, BR [if WTing out of the corner] WT, dash , j.D xx CLSW, 2H, nj.H xx CLSW, nj.S xx CLSW, BR WT, dash under, [2H nj.CLSW]x2-3, 2H, BR [whatever gatling] 2D xx BR, RC, wait, CLSW, [empty jump forward, wait, CLSW]x2-3, optional dash, j.S xx VV kick [in the corner] CLGV, j.S xx CLSW, wait for Baiken to pass over head, dash, 5S, 2H, TK CLSW (going forward), wait for Baiken to pass overhead again, 5K/5S xx BR
  21. GGs to everyone I played yesterday! Also, thanks to Dan for hosting, and I guess this is farewell to the Melty Haus. Hey, really, no apologies needed. It's always fun to play your HOS, Sol, or anyone else you play. I also don't know the HOS/Sol matchup that well, although I feel like I'm getting a little better at reacting to things -- I actually managed to block a few Bandit Revolvers this time, haha -- and it seems like a pretty even matchup to me, so I'm not sure either why the Japanese think it's in Sol's favor. Where are you getting the matchup info, by the way? I feel out of the loop in regards to Japanese matchup ratios. Ryuuka - To be honest, I feel the same way sometimes when I play against other Sol players. It seems like a lot of the game is figuring out when to respect his stuff and when not to, since doing either at the wrong time leads to easy damage for him. I find fuzzy jumps help a lot since they make it hard to enforce his low/throw game. You could also try FDing Sol away more. It can really screw up his game if he's out of range for WT or GV. And DI is most useful when Sol has no life left and there are less then 10 seconds left on the clock, or as an obnoxious victory pose.
  22. Poor Chipp. He just had so much trouble dealing with a lot of characters' nonsense in #R, and Sol wasn't even the worst of it. Also, I think I should be able to make it this weekend as well.
  23. GGs to the potemkin, Paradox, and, despite dropping on me, Forgotten. the potemkin - Man, if I go into auto-pilot at all against Pot I lose so fast. That corner is terrifying to try and get out of. Paradox - It's been a while! Good to play you again.
  24. GGs Ruinz! And sorry if some or a lot of my stuff with Baiken seemed odd; lots of stuff either does not come out at all for me with her or comes out as something other than what I want. =/
  25. I definitely wouldn't say that I only like GG, but I guess GG is probably the only game I'm playing seriously at the moment. I keep meaning to get into Melty but I never quite get around to it. =/
